I get it after having issues booting into a custom ROM a second time and I go into TWRP to roll back to my stock backup. I have to do a full wipe/format in order to clear it and do my restore. Have not seen a fix for it that works yet.

oh I see, when I want to Wipe Data, it wipes though that problem came out of nowhere.

I've put the original rom and reinstall the recovery...but nothing change...
You don't have to worry. It is failing to wipe a partition that you don't have. It is normal.

I just boot the phone into Android system recovery.
And I just got that.
Then it won't let me flash the ROM.

Try: mount / system instead mount /system, sometimes it works so.

I can't do that.
The only functions are:
reboot system now
apply update from sdcar
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
test redbend fota [FS]
And on the bottom of the screen in yellow text

E:failed to mount /syste

I tried flashing RazoFlash 2.3 but then I get " E:Error in /tmp/sideloadpackage.zip (status 6) "

[Q] How can I get my cache to delete in ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.1.0?

Whenever I use ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.1.0 on my rooted Galaxy, it freezes on formatting /cache whenever I attempt to perform a data/factory reset. This also occurs when i try to wipe the cache partition. While I am navigating through the UI of clockworkmod, messages saying E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log and E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log are shown. Whenever I try to install a rom from a zip, the rom will install, but phone will get to the boot screen and then freeze on said boot screen. Any ideas on how to alleviate this problem? Also, what would be a good 4.1 ROM to install?

I was able to wipe the cache. However, I am still unable to flash to any other ROM without getting a bootloop. Any suggestions on how to get it to properly boot? Or would I be better off just running official ICS?

Any recovery not working anymore...can't mount/open cache error

Hi guys,
I'm afraid my emmc is fried.
I have tried to flash stock factory and it stuck in the last step "erasing cache".
I have tried stock recovery, CWM and TWRP to wipe, but none worked.
And it appears on the bottom.
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/log

Yes,but in recovery ,cache partition still can't be mounted.
I'd go back to 100% stock and make sure the phone's working correctly. One running, flash a custom recovery and see how you get on
This happened to me and what i did was factory reset and then format data reboot and then everything fine
