Is this really Android 4.3
SO I have a versioin of the MK3 update for the Sprint GS3. I am building a ROM using this but when making some tweaks I desired I found something interesting.
So I enabled the ADB icon in the status bar with a build.prop tweak. what was displayed was the ADB icon from ICS (little android guy with the body of an ice cream sandwich). My question is, why. If this is a build using the Android 4.3 sources from google, looks like sammy failed when actually committing the 4.3 framework files, in other words Is this really Android 4.3 or a modded up version of a different version of android?

Ok, so I have a Nexus S, not 4G just the I9020A.
Up until now I kept stock Android on it, and the most creative I got was using ADW launcher EX.
After seeing ICS and waiting SO long, I just had to have it, I can't wait on Google anymore.
Anyways, I have a few burning questions
1. I'm running Cyanogenmod 9 downloaded from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1356228, is this the LATEST version? I know it's called alpha 11 but I keep reading Alpha 13, can't find it to download though, so confusing.
2. Wifi isn't supported yet, right? It's not just my phone?
3. USB transfer is so sporadic, is this normal?
4. The Market barely works. I managed to download the Twitter app, and that's it, from other videos I saw, ICS automatically re-installed all their previously downloaded apps, no such thing happened for me.
5 - most important question of all - With all of this rooting, flashing, custom ROM's etc, when the OFFICIAL Ice Cream Sandwich for the Nexus S gets released by Google, will I still be able to download that and install it over the air like previous updates? (When I had stock gingerbread it just notified me and bippity boppity boo)
Or will I have to do something else?
I really love ICS but the ROM still feels just sort of like something to hold me over to the official update.
Thank you in advance!
Custom ics roms arnt ready for primetime just yet boss. Ive had the most stability with drew garens ics builds. He makes awesome roms. Id link his site but its prolly against the rules here so to get to the site just type in his namedotcom

1,2,3,4.. alpha11 is the older version of cm9, thats why your having those issues. the more recent cm9 is much better. alpha13 is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20220591&postcount=2236
also, there are cm9 "kangs" these get compiled on a daily basis, so contain the most current cm9 code. cm9 kangs are the same as cm9 but compiled by someone else, whose not part of the cm team, but do get compiled from the same cm9 source. sometimes they contain cherries, extras that are waiting to get approved for cm. you can get them here, the latest is always on top, and the cherries are listed to the right. the latest one is just cm9 without cherries http://fitsnugly.euroskank.com/skankwich/crespo/ and there is a thread supporting kangs here at xda http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1369146

Maybe he was talking about the 3D style launcher. For third party apps I think Launcher Pro is the best solution. I've used it on my old Hero and it was very fast.
he was talking about the 2.3 gallery view...

That "version" as you say, is the phone's name. The i9023 and the i9020(A/T) is a different device(Nexus S as well but different). Maybe you flashed a wrong ROM what has the i9023 in its .prop file.
So I think you have an i9020 device with a ROM what has the identity of a i9023. I don't know if that matters in the rom, but i think not.
So where can I found the right one ( I think makes difference as when I press on setting alway appear a red square line) so I would like to try the I9020t version
Hello from oz
I can't change screen capture and sick of hitting it and have to delete the shot
Settings display has no option to modify in jellybean 4.0.3
Will Samsung offer jellybean update maybe as the last version had options to change screen capture button
Not game to try root the tablet
Screen capture is not needed full time what a stupid Samsung setup
Cheers
well first off 4.0.3 is ICS not jellybean, in the stock 4.0.4 that came on my p3113 there was a setting to remove the screenshot from the bar. its under Settings / Display / Quick Launch and select NONE.

You can not move shot button in 4.0.3
If you dont want to root then update your tab to 4.0.4 or 4.1.1(WHICH IS JELLY BEAN) then you will be able to get rid of it...

to tell what version of android your on go to Settings / About Device and look under Android version.
as for methods of updating depends on a LOT of things, like what version of the device you have are you already rooted and have CWM.
I know there is no official source for 4.2.2, but is there any "simple" port to it?
I am always running just rooted stock ROMs because they are much more smoother and responsive then CM clones or other heavily modified ROMs. I felt in love with those notification toggles and some other UI modifications from 4.2, is there any way I could get just a simple rooted version of it?
There's none so far.
Its in the general section. Here is the post with the latest 4.2 ROMs.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38262172
Read the OP as well. There is a link to a flashable supersu you will need to gain root.
Link to post containing quick settings mod for 4.2. You might have to extract the files and copy/paste directly to /system/app, and change permissions to rw-r-r(this is how I always do it, it will never flash properly for me.)

hi ! Members
pleas  is there is any way to run android 4.0 apps on gingerbread and thanks
Running Android 4.0 on Gingerbread doesn't particularly make any sense.
What you really mean is, is there any way to run Android 4.0 on your phone? Assuming it's a yes, yes it is possible. It all comes down to what phone you have and if your phone has aftermarket firmware or official updates of the newer os.
If you want the feel of Android 4.0 then j suggest you download a launcher called "Holo Launcher" from the Play Storeā¢.
If that's not what you want, and you want the full package, whole android update of 4.0 then yeah as said. It comes down to your device if it had enough support from members here or the manufacturer itself.

If not then the answer is no.

i forget to write apps i mean is there is any way to run app which require android 4 to run on gingerbread
If that is the case then no, android 4.0 uses new API, and therefore it will not work on gingerbread. If you attempt to install an Android 4.0 app it will come up with and error "problem parsing package".
So once again, nope, you cannot install android 4.0 ( ICS ) Apps on gingerbread.

my phone is samsung gt-5360 but i can't find real ics with no bugs thanks for you so much krishneelg3
There are Applications on the Play Store which is from new android platforms, but will work on older platforms. Search for ICS messaging, camera, gallery. From there you'll find more. And no worries.
Also keep track about the info given fro aftermarket Roms, as developers try to fix everything and soon enough most of the bugs are gone and the ROM can be used a a daily driver.

there are lots of ics+ roms for your device, they all cant be completely buggy, you even have kitkat which is awesome for this small phone.
