Hello everyone,
I am an owner of an LG Nexus 4 for a few months now.
The device worked well for the first few months, than one day I dropped it and the screen shattered
The touch sensors stopped working, although the LCD display didn't,
So I had the screen replaced and everything went back to normal.
Then, after the 4.3 update I think, I started having problems with the mobile connections, it died all of a sudden and didn't came back, and the device went off, and when I turned it back on, the battery indicator showed a lower percentage than before, than the device went off again.
Mostly, after the first shutdown the device wouldnt come back unless i charged it.
I also had the battery changed because it turnes out it got inflated (turnes out that happens), and it didn't help either.
I thought the 4.4 update will help, but it didn't.
What could the problem be? Is it hardware or software?
As the title says, I'm very frustrated. It could be from the hit he got when the glass broke, some interior parts could have got hurt,
Or from when the battery inflated.
or that I just got a crappy device in the first place, who knows.
Thank you and sorry for the long post.
Yours,
Yarin.

Hey guys,
I moved back to stock(2.17 4.1.2 FW) after using cm11 for a while, and it worked like a charm. Suddenly, as I was going home from school, the display stopped working. Backlight, touch, sound, haptic feedback and the rest of the phone still work. Then I flashed stock FW again, but nothing changed. I turned the phone on, but there was no picture on the display. Then, after turning the phone off, I let it stay at home and chill for a while. I turned it on and the display somehow worked normally. Anyway, as i turned it off, and plugged in the charger, there were some f'd up pixels on bootsplash, and a REALLY f'd up battery animation (two batteries with heavily distorted position and colors).
Needless to say, there was no picture ever since.
I flashed stock again, locked the bootloader (no TA backup ), and my warranty is still up for six months or so. I found warranty papers(with seller signature, IMEI and stuff), but I'm having trouble finding the receipt for a week now :crying:
Any advice on what to do if I don't find the receipt? (besides from crying like a little biatch knowing we have lollipop now)
Should I replace it myself(Ebay or something), or find someone who could repair it cheaply?

Try sending it to sony's centre first..i think they have database about your phone's warranty..doesn't need receipt at all.
So here's my issue. Yesterday, my phone started to give me a while screen full of dead pixels (pinkish color) randomly. I would turn off the phone, turn it back on and after 2-3 minutes it would crash again. Last year I dropped it and cracked the screen, so to me it was related to that. The phone works fine other than that (music plays when display fails. I did wipe it completely and reinstalled Kit Kat, it solved the issue temporarily but after 30 minutes it started again.
Today I decided to go check out a phone repair shop and ended getting my phone fixed by them. What this consisted of is a replacing the display and plastic frame. I picked up the phone and everything was perfect, new screen and display which looks and feels like new.
Now it's been about 5 hours and the phone started acting strange again. Now it's a lot less worse than before, but I still get the full screen of dead pixels. The display will go on and off (I guess it's trying to reinitialize or something) but always fails. So I end up rebooting the phone for it to work again.
The 2 times it happened after getting the phone fixed it was when I put it in my pocket to go from my work to my car, and then from my car to my home. So I don't know if it has anything to do with being in my pocket, that's why I came here.
So could anyone could shed some light on my issue here? Is my phone already dying? It's only been 13 months and I'd hate to have spent for a new display for basically nothing.
Replace the flex cable. If that doesn't work then it's an issue with the motherboard/screen, in which case you would have to guess between the two, or simply send it to LG and pay for a repair.
Hi everyone!
First of all I would like to thank everyone who took the time to read this.
So about a year ago, I bought an Asus Fonepad 7 Model:K00E. Of course that decision was heavily regretted due to the uncountable bugs and malfunctions due to low manufacturing cost and non existent support from Asus itself. Anyways, so I lived with it.
A month or so after buying it, it fell screen first on concrete floor. And as you expected, the touch screen broke. ONLY the touch screen though. So then I had it replaced.
From then on the real problems began, touch screen would suddenly freeze when connected to charger, keypad would type on its own occasionally, and SD card reader no longer worked. Basically they screwed it up even more. Oh and when I changed the screen and made a factory reset due to thinking they were software related, it booted and said android is upgrading (like when you wipe dalvik) but if literally upgraded to KitKat.
Anyways, so problems stopped after a while and and came back occasionally. It worked okay for months, then one day when I was restarting it..it didn't boot..literally. Nothing even showed on the screen, it never turned on. It would just vibrate then nothing would happen. When I took it for fix and repair, since there literally no support from Asus themselves, I took it to a third party shop. After a few days I realized that people who worked there didn't know **** and just said it needs a new software.. Then they said the mother board needs to be replaced (which is basically like buying a new one..even the prices are close)
So I want to ask if there is anyway of fixing it or if anyone experienced this and how they solved it.. Sorry for the long post, just wanted to give every detail so you'd see the full picture. Thanks in advance, any and all replies are appreciated!
my device also switched off yesterday and now won't boot up, did you found any solution???
I some problem, this no boot is a only startup on recovery mode

The service centre guys confirmed that the device's motherboard is dead, so I bought a new motherboard and my tab is now working good
I broke my phone into pieces a few months back, took a pretty back fall from the fourth floor window. I love this beast and took it upon myself to recover it. So I bought a new screen and frame. It looked like new. When I tried to power it on, nothing happened. I suspected the battery, which had already shown some signs of dying prior, and attributed it to months without charge. I ordered a new one, that came today...
Still no power. However something happens , like with the old one: sometimes the flashlight comes on when I tried to charge it. I can feel the heat in the motherboard.
What can I do???? ? Is it time to give up on my OPO?
Hi
My son recently gave me his old Moto G5 phone. The phones charging board was broken and the screen was very badly cracked all over (it had a screen protector) and was generally not in the best of condition.
My son had bought a replacement screen several months ago, but had not got around to trying it. The battery was also totally flat.
So he gave me the phone and I installed a new charging board and the new screen and charged the battery.
Unfortunately an area of the new screen does not respond to key input . This area is a line of keys towards the bottom of the screen (not the bottom though).
My son says that he had not noticed any such problem when he last used it (he kept using it until the battery went flat; he then purchased a new phone).
I've tried doing a factory reset. I've removed and re-connected the display cable onto the main board and these have not fixed the problem .
I am not sure what to try next :crying::crying:. I could purchase yet another screen in case this new screen has a fault (probably unlikely?).
Presumably it could be the main board (digitizer?)...How can I find that out?
Maybe I have done something wrong on the install, but seems odd that the rest of the screen (as far as I can tell) works ok. What might I have done to have caused this problem?
Has anybody got any useful tips as to what I could try. Seems a waist of a good phone, not to try and repair it.
Thanks for reading this.
