[Feature Request] Make Volume Warning deactivable - Omni Features Development

Could there be an option in settings (like in CM) to disable the annoying warning: "Raise volume above recommended level? Listening at high volume for periods of time may damage your hearing." Would be really thankful if it gets implemented

I agree.
Especially people that are using "real headphones" on their device from time to time will like this.
Right now I'm getting the warning at a volume level that's rather low when using my large cans.

I think it's loud, but I'm coming from a Nexus One, and I've been informed the N1 is one of the phones with the lowest volume.
Good. Not great.

Coming from both Vibrants I would say its loud but not as loud as it should be.
I feel the vibrants are very loud. Especially when holding in your hand watching a movie because it will echo off your hand. I've always had to turn down the vibrants while I find myself wishing this phone could go louder.

Better than the G2 through the earpiece and speakers. I think the speaker placement helps. A lot better than the G2 through a wired or Bluetooth headset.
Sounds great when dts is pressed from within the audio or video player. If I didn't know about that from this forum I wouldn't have thought it was that good.

Coming from nexus s and would say ok, not as loud as nexus s. I had voodoo sound on nexus which was quite an improvement. May be we will see some improvements here once some custom kernels roll out.

The speaker volume is ok I guess for a mono speaker, but the headphone volume is to low. Probably they're following that headphone volume law from europe. There is a volume booster app in the market

Coming from an iPhone, I'm very impressed with the speaker phone volume.
Sound is really good, I missed the placement of the speaker being on the bottom of the phone.

Random Volume Sounds

I'm a give HTC fan but this phone is beyond buggy. The random reboot and such are a huge problem, but now ever so often my phone will make the volume down sound without being touched and without affecting the volume level. Anyone else had this issue?

I noticed this for the first time last night, media volume decreasing while looking at the screen, but the crazy thing is, my podcast never got any quieter.

Music Volume Issue...

So I bought the Ultra yesterday. The speaker sounded great at first. Tonight I started a song on Google Music and it was loud at first. Then it seemed to autocorrect the volume. The volume is now the same between half and full. I cannot get it to turn up any louder and it is pretty quiet.... About half of what my S3 could put out.... This is between both the Pandora and Google Music apps. Is anyone else having this issue? Is there a setting I am not seeing to turn this "feature" off?

try a different app then you will know if its the phone or the app.
for what it's worth I've had google play music do weird things with the volume on some songs. (not a droid phone)
So I called VZW tech support last night and they told me to take the phone back and get a new one. And it also started doing it on speaker phone too.

Isn't the phone supposed to do that? I believe I read somewhere the phone adapts to how you listen to songs... Will look for the article.

I did a factory reset and that seemed to fix it for a while. Music played normally for about 6 hours then it randomly started cutting the volume level again. It gets so quite it sounds like the volume is only at 10-15%. I went to Verizon and couldn't get it to reproduce the effect in front of the agent. They said to come back if it keeps happening.

I honestly believe that the phone is supposed to do that. It supposed to adapt to your listening preferences. I can't find where I read it but I will.. Just return it before your 14 days are up and see if the new one does the same. They shouldn't charge you.

Turn off the equalizer and surround under Sound > Audio Effects
Effects Profile: custom
Surround: off
Equalizer: off
Soooo.... sometimes it has no volume at all. I tried suggestion from the post above and it didn't seem to help. Too bad I really like the 5" screen. I think I going to return it and buy the Moto X instead though.

My volume does weird things using Google Play music as well. I was walking yesterday and had it on full volume. Never had it that way on any other device.
Past Moto phones have had a "High volume can harm your ears" warning that turns down your music unless you shut it off. Maybe that remnant of Blur stuck around and needs to be disabled somehow? Just a thought.

i do get a message that says that when i'm listening to bluetooth audio and go to turn the volume up on the phone. but, knock on wood, it still lets me turn the volume up.
edit: actually it looks like this: http://forums.androidcentral.com/google-nexus-4/229041-how-do-i-disable-unsafe-volume-warning.html - so if it happens on a NEXUS, then it's not motorola, it's Google (oh wait i forgot, they are motorola...and all of freaking android)

Overall Speaker Volume

The only thing I really hate about my HOS is the fact that the speaker volume is so low!. As I work in a noisy environment I regularly miss calls as my phone is unheard by me.
I used to have a similar problem back when I owned a HOV but fixed this by using volume+ from play store, unfortunately it doesn't work with the HOS, neither does any other volume boosting app in the market and I've tried many.
It's a killer problem for me and if I can't resolve it I'll be ditching this phone which I love for a nexus 5 early on the new year.
So if anyone has any tips or mods for increasing system volume output then please help.

I don't think you will have luck boosting the speaker volume.
Maybe think about a smartwatch that vibrates your wrist when a call is coming in.

PowerAMP low volume vs Google play Music

So I installed PowerAMP on the Nexus 5. When I played a song stored on the phone, the volume was too low. I was able to hear it clearly only after maxing my phone volume.
I opened GooglePlay Music app and played the same song again. The difference is tremendous. Even with mid volume settings, I can hear the song clearly.
Is it just me or I am using PowerAMP in a wrong way?
Go into the EQ and disable "Equ, Tone & limit". Then you should have full sound again.
I'm on the nexus 4 at the minute but the behavior is exactly the same. As soon as you enable any of the 3 options the Max volume decreases hugely.

I disabled all three. Yes, there was a mild improvement, still nothing close to Google play.
Thanks any ways. Any other tips appreciated.
I am exactly facing the same issue due to which I m preferring google play music instead of poweramp. Is this due to how play music directly uses DSP rather than a software from poweramp? Can anyone enlighten please?

Try sliding the preamp slider up.

Thank god, I felt i was the only one having the problem.
I forgot the other options sorry.
Goto menu-settings-audio-advanced tweaks.
Disable direct audio control
Enable music fx
Now go back to the eq page and click the tone \ vol tab at the bottom.
Click music fx so that it's highlighted.
Hopefully that will solve your issue

Thanks these changes increased the volume loudness from speaker. I will check the tonality and quality from earphones and report.

By enabling the music fx it should be using the android DSP exactly the same as play music
