I believe it is CM related. It kept happening to me on droidkang but never on kanagakat or cataclysm.

Is there any browser available for the x10 that supports flash?
Yes, search for Skyfire.

Ah yes...thanks.
Have they managed to get it working yet? Last time I tried it, about a month ago, it kept freezing and permanently loading videos but not playing them.
yeh same it would get stuck at 50% then the video will play in the background with the loading screen blocking it

The video playing in background with 50% loading screen is fixed in the 20 and 23 firmware for me. It doesn't fix the issue with videos buffering to 25% and not playing which I assume is a skyfire issue.

CM9 Rom freeze

Hello all, I flashed CM9 last night and so far so good. I just have a slight problem with my Xoom freezing and rebooting.
I will be watching YouTube for 10-15 minutes, my device will stop playing the video, audio hangs up then reboots and everything will be okay until I watch another video. Seems like the GPU is having some issues somewhere and somehow.
When I play a game on my Zoom it will play fine for 10 minutes or so, very crisp clear and snappy. After that time period, the game will literally go into slow motion. I have to hit the home button, go into settings>apps>(game)>force close then go back into the game and will all be a-okay.
Just curious if anyone has insight on this, ever seen this or experienced. I love this Rom but on the other hand I didn't have problems with ICS EOS
Thank you all in advanced.

I don't think it is a cm9 thing ....I tried every rom out there and I am getting fc on browser and YouTube ... especially YouTube were I find it is just very slow when loading . Starting to really piss me off , I really didn't notice it until I started using the Xoom a little more the usual.. I know it,s flash that the browser is having a problem with , and i have tried the top browser's out there and sooner then later all off them crash .

YouTube video playback

Has anyone experienced any issues with playback? it's not laggy but slows down at one point (about 2 seconds of video) then speeds up to catch up. It's not too obvious, my sister didn't even notice it. I've also tried playing back recorded videos and streaming movies from the browser with no issues. I've also tried uninstalling updates and reinstalling YouTube app..with no success. Hopefully someone can help, or maybe I should try one of these new roms...hmm?

I've noticed the same thing. It also only happens (or is most noticeable) in landscape. Now that I've noticed it, its really annoying.

Well at least I'm not the only one that notices it. I'm not crazy then. Hopefully this issue will get fixed with a new rom

This is my only issue with this phone; everything works great except youtube playback. The lagging then catching up is really noticeable and distracting. I thought it was my network connection for the longest time, I'm so glad it's not just me. It's kind of ridiculous, this device should be able to handle a simple youtube video. I'm glad I know now at least I didn't get a defective phone. Hopefully someone somewhere will be able to come up with a fix/mod for this. I never would of purchased this phone if I knew I couldn't properly watch a youtube video. :/
Really sucks...I feel you.

I haven't noticed anything. YouTube video playback is working flawlessly. I played numerous videos and closely observed the first 5 seconds of playback. I haven't noticed any slow down, speed up, or lag. I'm also running Stock.

Don't have this problem either. Even when playing HQ. If it slows down than it's the data, not playback quality. I do notice that this stock ROM is slower with download speeds. My G2x is faster when downloading content and it's only 14 Megabits per second, theoretically.

Ah, never mind! I now understand. I noticed it when I selected to play a different time duration of the video. It slows down, and catches up. I thought you meant that you noticed it during the beginning of the video. For me it only happens when you skim to a different part of the video. I also compared it using Google Chrome on my PC, and there is definitely a difference.

Well, now I don't seem to notice it anymore. I guess sometimes it happens. I don't know, its weird lol. Its also hardly noticeable, so it shouldn't bother me. K, I'm done here, bye.

And...it's also in low definition..which leads me to believe it's not a processor problem...it has to be a problem in YouTube

Just wondering if anyone found a fix for the playback issue in fullscreen mode?

CM9 stingray YouTube freezing

Almost once a day YouTube will begin to stutter, then the system will become unresponsive, ultimately requiring a hard reset. Seemed to have persisted through out cm9 for me.
Does anyone else have this problem?
I have the same issue with my Nex7. It will get stuck loading for hrs if let it. I just use a browser now because the app is too annoying. It would happen before I was rooted as well.

[Q] Display shuts off while watching videos in stock browser.

I've been on the hunt for an answer for a few weeks. I'm using CM11 nightlies and when I'm watching a video in the browser my screen dims and eventually shuts off as if nothing was playing. I did see a few people post with the same issue in a few threads but that's about it. I thought it would eventually be fixed but it doesn't seem to be a common issue. Only happens in the AOSP browser and I just clean flashed everything before posting. So it can't be because of the dirty flashes. Anyone have any idea what gives?

Well, they are called "Nightlies" for a reason...
Does it happen with other browsers? It might be the browser's fault.
Don't think its an issue with your ROM. Completely stock and the same happens to me watching any embedded videos.

Has anyone thought about turning his screen timeout hi like 10 mins

Browsers are certainly a personal preference. If you're dead set on using that particular one, then I would suggest something along the lines of using the Xposed Framework and the module App Settings: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2437377 You can use this to keep the Browser (or other apps) to not time out, but just the apps you select instead of just doing a generic leave the screen on for 10 minutes at a time. Or, if you use ART, or don't care to mess with Xposed, then something along these lines: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nbondarchuk.android.keepscn&hl=en should work for what you want. Basically you can just set it to keep the screen on as long as you are looking at the phone (FFC) then it'll stay on - ala Samsung.
