MB865 AT&T ICS4.0.4 already flashed but still stuck on Motorola logo - Motorola Atrix 2

The phone was stuck on Motorola logo and I flahed it using RSDLite and the FXZ InlineFlashing_Edison_67.21.125_CFC_P3_APBP.xml.zip. Everything went ok but still frozen on the logo. Please help.

Get the latest RSDLite I think its version 6 or something and run the fxz again.

Already flashed three times, on another pc, with different data cable and different RSDLite version and nothing. Why is this happening? Do I have to go back to GB first and then flash ICS?

No you can't go back to GB you will hard brick your device. There is another method of flashing created by altered search for that and also disable your virus guard before flashing.

Is possible to downgrade AT&T ICS 4.0.4(AP Fastboot Mode (S) 0A.72) to GB? My phone is stuck on M logo and I've flashed it almost ten times and nothing. Always tried flashing this fxz: InlineFlashing_Edison_67.21.125_CFC_P3_APBP.xml.zi p
AFAIK GB's bootloader version is 0A.72 too, isn't? So I suppose I can downgrade safely.

You cannot go back to GB, your only solution is get ICS up and running. Did you search for the flashing method without using RSDLite? There is a thread on this by alteredlikeness try that method, also make sure you have at least 50% battery.

Already tried that we have done everything there is to do .......

Ok can we take this offline. I have a few ideas and we test a few things out and look at some options, but I don't want to clutter this thread with troubleshooting questions and replies, we can post what we did and the outcome once we know what to do next and what we did.
I just sent you and the OP a PM. I just need to establish some information before I make any recommendations of what to try next.

Hi,
I have bricked my atrix 2. I have read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1396650 but no luck.
every time i use RSD LIGHT it gives me error and fail. from this site which file should i use http://sbf.droid-developers.org/edison/list.php
i do have my original ROM backed-up, how do i install it?
this is a ATT phone, I am able to get into recovery and fastboot.
when i turn the phone ON it goes into
AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S) (Flash Failure)
0A.68
pleas help
Was you on 2.3.6 GB or the ICS Leak? This is extremely important to know.
If you was on 2.3.6 GB you have to use the patch in the fxz. If you was on ICS, you HAVE to use Jim's utility script to get back to GB from ICS.

Read on how to fxz back to 2.3.5. Since you were on 2.3.6 you will need to patch the file. There are instructions in the thread on how to do that also. Read carefully!

I have my original ROM backed up, with cwm its about one GB. Its not a zip file. Can someone tell Me
how to flash that. I am able get into fastbboot and recovery. The only Thing is I can't change my phone anymore.
I had 2.3.6 on the phone. I need to patch for 2.3.5? I'm not understanding.
Please help those is my only phone.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
If you can't get into CWM, you CANNOT restore your CWM backup. It will not work in stock recovery.
You need to fxz back to 2.3.5, and then ota to 2.3.6.
I'm not gonna give you detailed steps as its all laid out in the link I gave you in my previous response to you. Please read it thoroughly and you won't have an issue.
The link will explain why you need to patch the file and how.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium

Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Assuming you are on AT&T, download the AT&T file from the link you posted in your original post, then patch it with the patch file in the noob thread.
Follow the instructions carefully. If you don't patch the fxz file, it won't flash. Let me know if you run into problems

my phone was 100% working 2 day ago. I tried to flash android jellybean using this site: http://androidrays.com/1007/how-to-update-motorola-atrix-2-to-cm10-jellybean-rom/
now my phone is bricked.
i tried the noob guide,
1) download the FXz file
2) download the replace.zip ( which is the patch)
3) unziped both files.
4) Coped the replace file into the fxz file.
5) use RSD LIght to flash.
every time it failed. I tried most of the fxz files on the site but no luck.
one question , when i choose the file for RSD i get two options to select from 1) file from the patch (InlineFlashing_edison_5.5.175.16_cfc_p3_APBP_CID285) 2) the FXZ file. which one should i use
please help
thank you
Bring up RSD lite, drag the original inline_flashing xml from your desktop to RSD and drop it, then drag the patch into RSD and drop it, it should ask if you want to replace, say yes. Then make sure your phone is in AP Fastboot plug it in via usb, verify that it sees your device, then select start. Let it go until it says pass.
That is all you have to do. However, if you didn't have USB Debugging checked on your phone before all of this, that may be a problem.
It's the same thing Fall has been telling you, but a bit dumbed down so to speak.
I'm sorry if this doesn't help man..

Oh man.
Oh man.
That link couldn't be further from the truth George, and he is going to cause many users issues like yourself. Two very important things about that link: one, you can only flash stock Motorola images through regular recovery. It is impossible to flash things like cyanogenmod in stock recovery. You need a custom recovery to flash custom ROMS. Like bootmenu boot strap, or safe strap.
Second: to flash cm10 (which is based on jelly bean) you MUST be on ICS first.
Gosh, that link is going to cause some headaches.
That being said, let us know how the flash goes man.

Dang, here's what I'm thinking and I've seen it before, where for some reason PART of the ICS/JB system gets flashed but part doesn't. So one last thing.... George, there should be a number in RSD lite where the flash is actually failing at. Example: 3/18

[Q] Stuck on Samsung Screen after CWM reboot.. PLEASE HELP! SOLVED...

Not really sure what happened..
My phone wouldn't reboot properly.. kept getting "Force Close" for any number of processes on my screen. So I decided to go into CWM to recover a previous backup. It seemed to go well. But when it rebooted, it now stays on the Samsung Screen and nothing else happens. I've tried to get back into CWM by holding down Volume and Power buttons.. but again .. nothing happens.. Just keeps going to the Samsung Screen and freezing there..
I have NO IDEA what to do now.
Any and all help is so greatly appreciated!!
Thank you in advance.
Can you get into download mode? Hold the volume up and down button then while the phone is plugged in the USB. From there, do a one-click back to stock.

1. Mobile odin, however I've personally never used it. There are probably guides out there somewhere how to return the phone to stock.
2. You may still be under samsung's warranty period, they don't care if your phone is rooted and will fix hardware problems. They will flash the most recent stock rom and firmware they have to your phone so you'd have to re root it.

The link below should take you to the mb1 file. This will wipe everything and should take you back to stock 4.1.2. I have not done this method in a while so if something borks im sorry for mentioning it.

Correct it is the 4.1.1 img. I am away from my home computer but I think that might have been the wrong file since you want to go back to stock. I will try to search the thread for the file I used during my training

Thanks for your help I was able to get a usb connection enough and I used Odin on my laptop. The only problem I have now is that the custom unblock symbol appears when I boot up the phone. Any idea how to remove that now that root is gone? Ignore the following words...my phone won't let me edit them out. Thanks again.
Edit: it looks like the file I used was a 4.0.4 image. For return purposes is it fine if it's the older version? There should be no signs of root now. I'll keep checking for updates though

You should be able to go into settings and factory reset your phone and then try taking the ota.

I would, if you have an ics rom they will be able to tell something is off. It should accept an OTA update. If you can odin again, use the vrblk3 image and accept the ota to vrbmb1. It may not be updating due to to the jump from ics to the most recent base. That will make sure you're completely back to stock, with a locked bootloader, and a stock recovery.

I can only find 4.1.1 files...and the link posted earlier in the thread doesn't work. Any idea where to find a 4.1.2 version?

[Q] 2 Important questions before flashing

Before I start I would like to thank you in advance for dedicating your time to help me here (assuming that you did).I couldn't find the answers on the forums even though I searched.
1. Is there any way to backup my 2.2.1 froyo rom along with the kernel and baseband and EVERYTHING to make sure that if I take it back for repairs they can't accuse me of anything?
2. I have P500H and not the normal P500 mentioned in these forums, is there any risk of brick by flashing another rom designed for P500? And if it does work, will all of my cellular connectivity (RIL, calls, sms, 3G) keep working?

1. yes with LGMDP or KDZ, but you need the stock rom that can be found in general LG P500 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1824618
2 read here, it was discussed before http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1830232
the answers are all in this forum, just try to search, read all sticky and FAQ threads and you should find all answers, but if you want to someone confirm you this, you can make a new thread like this just to be sure, cheers

Having used Odin and kdz I can say that KDZ is *RISKY*
It is maybe equivalent to Odin by the reference to the work they both do
And yeah you can create a nandroid backup of froyo

I would not want anything risky (everything is risky, but I prefer to take it to a minimum level ) as this is not my phone. Do you recommend flashing custom recovery through rom manager?

ROM manager has resulted in 100s of bricks (maybe more)
Don't use ROM manager on LGp500
You can use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=acr.recovery.installation.utility
Download amonra 3.06 and extract the recovery.IMG
Then use the above app

Yes the app is compatible with froyo
But I had issues with clockworkmod recovery
Download amonra 3.06 recovery for LGP500
It is the most stable recovery for this phone according to me
Here is the file for your convenience
http://www.mediafire.com/download/iwoygujg0qztoof/AmonRa_3.06_Recovery_ThunderG.zip
Copy the recovery.IMG extracted from the above file to the phones SD card And use the app I gave

For some reason I can't root my device via GingerBreak v1.2 :\ It appears to be stuck, or just rooting forever. USB debugging is on.

z4root didn't work either, progressed alittle bit, then crashed to the launcher and the app became inaccessible. Tried twice.
EDIT: Superoneclick worked, proceeding now to recovery installation.

I'm sorry to bump this after so long, I just didn't have the courage to flash the recovery (when I got stuck on the fastboot screen I thought that the device is going to the trash can), I have now CWM v5.0.2.0 but I get a message:
E:Bad boot message
"recovery"
Is it safe to proceed? what does this message mean?

That's a standard message which almost everyone gets on booting CWM recovery
Go forward and flash a ROM

Do you recommend the builds from Jenkins site? Are they stable enough to flash? http://jenkins.androidarmv6.org/job/android/393/ This for example?

I don't like *any* of the Jenkins builds as they are pathetically slow for me even on fresh installations
According to me you should either try Oxygen ICS or Rashed97's CM10
Remember the above ROMs are of my personal preference
And if you are inclined to use Jenkins build *try* them

I will use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1811325 for now
And when this gets to the step that it's stable enough I'll use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2382045 from the same developer.
I will let you know after I flash it, now I'm waiting for the battery to charge

Do remember trimming the ROM before flashing gapps and then thanking my post otherwise you may get possible bootloop
