Windows 8.1 does not recognize phone - Samsung Infuse 4G

When I plug my Infuse into the computer running Windows 8.1, it is not properly recognized. I have tried different USB ports with different cables and I still have the same issue. The battery will charge, but in the Device Manager, the phone reads "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)".
Updating the Windows driver with the Samsung driver files does not work, and installing Kies mini doesn't help either.
Any suggestions or help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Laptop recognizes but with troubleshoot sign and Kies does not recognize.

So I got a new laptop and now I want to install drivers for the phone for adb and whatnot, but when I plug it in, I do get the USB sound when it is plugged in, but it has a troubleshoot sign. When I click that, it says "cannot find drivers", and then when I go to Kies, it does not recognize the device at all. I know the USB ports work, and it does prompt for UMS. Any help on how I can get the drivers for this phone?

P6210 USB Connection problems on windows

No matter what I do I can't connect my GT-P6210 co PC using either windows XP or Windows 7.
Always get the same error "USB Device is not recognized".
So it's not visible in Odin so I can't flash anything to it.
Install latest KIES, unsintalled it, latest Sumsung USB drivers, installed universal ADB driver etc.
Nothing helps. Tried different USB cable.
All the same result.

Since you reformatted your pc, did you reinstall all the motherboard drivers? Sounds like the usb drivers could be missing.

Rooted Android P -- Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)

Has anyone figured out a solution to this issue? I can't get my computer to recognize my device any longer.
I've tried:
Uninstalling the driver
Manually doing a generic USB hub driver
Trying to forcefully install the google driver (gives the warning it's not compatible)
Different USB cables
Different USB slots
Unrooting
OEM re-lock
Enabling/disabling developer options
No idea what else the issue could be.
ADB, fastboot, or both?
Try a different pc or roll back Windows update. I've had this issue and it turned out to be a Windows update that screwed up the communication between my phone and pc.
