The actual and tested persano-tweaks for the Tab3 8.0 wifi (T310) stock rom 4.2.2 are included in this post
! You need to be rooted !
BUSYBOX have to be installed!
The original instructions of how to apply the tweaks can be found HERE
1. Download PimpMyRom (I prefer the alpha-version) and enable init.d scripts (Tools/ Tweaks).
2. Extract persano's zip file and paste the files here:
- /system/etc/init.d for init.d tweaks in init.d folder
- /system/bin for bin files in bin folder
- /system for build.prop (delete the old one)
3. Set permissions (p.ex.with EsFileExplorer)
rwxr-xr-x to 01youtubefix in /init.d
rw-r--r-- to 94mediakill in /init.d
rwxrwxrwx to all other init.d scripts in /init.d
rw-r--r-- to build.prop in /system folder
rwxr-xr-x to fstrim in /bin folder
Before rebooting check that all files have the correct permission and all is in place.
If you have a txt file called "Test.log" in /data then init.d support is working correctly.
To get your boot animation back, go to build.prop in /system and delete this line: debug.sf.nobootanimation=1
dalvik.vm.heapstartsize=8m
dalvik.vm.heapgrowthlimit=64m

On the T211 (less RAM), I've been using the following lately:
dalvik.vm.heapstartsize=24m
dalvik.vm.heapgrowthlimit=72m
dalvik.vm.heapsize=288m
dalvik.vm.heaptargetutilization=0.75
Seems to be working well enough. Anybody really know what exactly these lines do? I think I kind of know and I kind of don't. I am particularly curious about the minfree and maxfree lines.

ok, i attacked a zip, with the updated version. i modified a bit the build.prop, removed some init.d tweaks (mine) and changed some values on others (mine too)
added two new tweaks
01youtubefix and 94mediakill
please, if you installed the old version, delete all init.d tweaks because there are some very old tweaks that were removed in the new version. and remeber to update your build.prop

Please dont snap. I read and reread the instructions for installing this on the t310, and I remain totally unclear on what to do, download, and install. You have to admit that the instructions are a bit convoluted and they keep referring to the kindle. Ok, I can ignore the device and move on, but it does get confusing.
Can we humbly ask you to maybe write bullet points or full sentences giving fairly clear instructions?
I thank you

Hi all.... let me share with you the deodexed app of the rom XXKB1....
This is the score in quadrant with they installed ( and sure.... also with lag fix):
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Generally the phone seems more reactive but.... try and let me know what you think about.....
Required:
-xxbk1 stock rom installed and root
To install the app you have to:
- unpack the archive and copy the two folder to sdcard ( you must have /sdcard/done_app and /sdcard/done_frame)
- with you pc get an adb shell and type:
su
mount -o remount rw /system
rm /system/app/*.odex
cp /sdcard/done_app/* /system/app
rm /system/framework/*.odex
cp /sdcard/done_frame /system/framework
reboot
well... the first time my phone doesn't boot so i have to unplug the battery....
in the second boot all works correctly (only time/date must be set again)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DSTILZLV
Are you sure you are scoring 2001? Great man will try. Tried with already deodexed ROM and framework but some how failed will reflash and try again. Thanks for the adb commands.
I have done other bench with quadrant and 2001 is the best result i got..... it's average on 1850....
Well I am running XXKB3 on my phone. I was inspired by your post so went ahead and deodexed, optimized and zipaligned the applications and framework for this firmware. Initially failed to put the app and framework into system with message something like "not enough space left in phone" dont remember the exactly. But kept on trying reflashing atleast 10 times and finally worked it out by wiping both the system/app and system/framework completely and pushing the ones I made. Wooohoooo, Success.... finally. But not interested to put the lagfix.. so keeping away. Now want to put some animation in framework will try next.
EDIT: 7.05 PM______________________
I edited Swype, removed all the languages otherthan english and trimmed it down to 3.5MB from 12.5MB and re-signed it. Working great.

Could you please share how you did all of this with our firmware? There's no stable custom ROM that has all this right now. Also what improvements other than the Quadrant score can you notice?

This mod is originally by AndroidON (thread here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1411317) so credit to him for making this known. And please read the thread before implying this to your phone.
I've made 2 files for KQB ROM. One is for stock deodexed KQB, and another one is compatible with nail16's swipe to remove notification mod. Don't forget to mount system before flashing.
This mod will disable 'ScrollingCache' in OS. It will improve scrolling in applications where some apps are found to stutter when scrolling.
NOTE: Make a backup copy of framework.jar in case if you want to revert back to original. And backup your rom in case of bootloop
DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. I take no responsibility that might occur to your phone. Read the related topic first before implying this mod.
DOWNLOAD FOR KQB STOCK HERE - http://www.mediafire.com/?ixf0blk76chc83j
DOWNLOAD FOR KQB WITH SWIPE TO REMOVE MOD HERE - http://www.mediafire.com/?d8ft9g49cl4gya3
Instructions: Extract the zip file in scdard, copy over to system/framework. Check permission to rw-r--r-- and reboot. Bootup may take quite awhile, seems like a bootloop and blackscreen may occur. Just wait till you can feel the haptic vibro.
UPDATE: THIS IS FOR XXKQ1 DEODEXED ROM. Mount system before flashing.
Download here - http://www.mediafire.com/?5alh0faabpz4wxy

It disables 'scrollingcache' and smooth apps that stutter/lag when scrolling. As for the screenlock lag, try setting your onscreen/offscreen governors. Or you can try softlocker from market.

Tutorial works with every FW but not every framework file works with every FW.
Don't you understand that it is individual process, you have to decompile and re-compile YOUR OWN framework-res.apk (regardless of what FW you run on), with mine thousands times modified framework-res.apk you most possibly won't be able to boot the system.

when EDITING completed i compaile it again
but the ain thing is new apk file is nearly 5 mb and old apk file 8mb
i use new apk file but its not working for me (booting problem)
so where is the problem ?
plz help me
I really wish I could help you. But I'm not into developing. I did this using the tutorial that I specified as source. Almost all the Samsung Android devices work the same way. You could post your queries in pages of Samsung devices which has plenty of Dev support. Galaxy S and Galaxy S II are the most recommended places.

This will add the ability to use a custom bootanimation on any rom with any kernel and probably any samsung device.
It has been tested on the Note II but should work with any samsung device that uses samsungani to load boot animations. If it doesn't work for you please post here.
Uses the typical settings bootanimation is at /system/media/bootanimation.zip, this is for those using a stock rom or a rom the dev didn't add it in.
I included the Google Gears bootanimation too. Flash the file in recovery. The attachment is a flashable zip not bootanimation.zip.
The updater-script uses busybox to mount the partitions, so if it doesn't flash correctly install busybox from an app on the play store then try again.
Edited the attachment, now includes the bootanimation binary just in case in bootanimation4u.zip, there is also another one named Bootanimation4U.Samsungani.Only that only edits samsungani.
If /system/bin/bootanimation exists flash the Bootanimation4U.Samsungani.Only.zip
How to use:
Add bootanimation.zip to /system/media
Flash Bootanimation4U.zip in recovery
If you want sound add an ogg file named PowerOn.ogg to /system/media/audio/ui, if sound doesn't work be sure /system/bin/samsungpowersoundplay exists if its there it will play sound if not its not included in your rom download it HERE then put it where it belongs and fix the perms which should be rwxr-xr-x
Reboot...Enjoy
Here is a method to get some bootanimations thanks to ReelFiles:
ReelFiles said:
Awesome!
1. Make a backup just in case.
2. Flash bootanimation4u.zip from recovery (I use TWRP).
3. Reboot and install Boot Animations Root from the Play Store.
4. Go into the app's preferences and change install location to /system/media/ and leave the default filename (bootanimation.zip) and go back to the main screen.
5. Select any bootanimation from the Server tab and hit Install. (Tablet ones at the bottom of the list look best.)
6. Select the installed bootanimation again and hit Resize. Set it to 720x1280 30FPS.
7. Tap the options key and select "Preview current" Make sure you like it and reboot.
I use the Tablet - Shatter one, it looks like the one from the Jedi Roms, but higher quality.
If you Preview a few different ones and then decide to use one you downloaded earlier, delete it first then install and resize it again, or the preview will just be a black screen and might not work at all.
I believe you can preview before installing the animation if you buy the Pro version.

Any screenshot?
Works&looks great. ...very simple. ..and easy to install in TWRP.
Now. ..if we could have the same thing with the shut down animation to install this way...that would be ideal.
Thank you for this..it is sweet.

Does flashing this effect anything else? Since your flashing partitions?

No it only uses busybox to mount system to copy files. It makes it flashable on most devices without using specific blocks. Ie. Mmcblk0p13

Ok, so this will prevent the boot loop caused by adding bootanimation.zip's manually on samsung devices? (vzw gs3 running aosp).
Does the flash of your mod stick between rom flashes, or flash each time?
I don't thing it belongs to development, since the mod is already known and that's why i already posted something like this on General with both methods (manual and CWM)

Worked perfectly on my SIII i747, flashed thru CWM. Thanks!:good:
doesn't work for me on my tmo note 2
but then again I havent been able to get any custom boot screens to work at all regardless of manually adding them or using an apk to do it for me...
after flashing bootanimation4u should i see an app in my app tray upon boot up? i don't see an app by that name
I'm using busybox v1.20.2 and it's installed in system/xbin
(i used jrummy's busybox installer app)

No app, what rom are you using and what kernel ? Sounds rom/kernel related this should work with no problems. Is there a file called samsungani and bootanimation in system/bin ? And lastly what does it do when it boots ? Black ? Samsung logo ?

Im on Jedi X 7.2. The Kernal is built in, but I believe it's called Sabre
samsungani and bootanimation both exist in system/bin
when it boots I get the note 2 splash screen and then just a black/blank screen till the phone boots up
Hi guys I have tried to get the stock international note 3 bootanimation along with the stock boot animation sound of the international note 3. I have tried on mine and it works ok. Remember to make a backup copy of the files you will replace in case you something happen or you dont want it.
Directions
1. Unzip the folder
2. Copy the bootsamsung.qmg, bootsamsungloop.qmg, bootsamsungmini.qmg, bootsamsungminiloop.qmg on system/media folder ( Make sure you correct the permission)
3. Copy the PowerOn.ogg on system/media/audio/ui (Make sure the permission is correct)
4. Reboot and no more At&t Crap bootanimation
UPDATE: Added shutdown animation of stock international
1. Unzip the folder
2. Copy the shutdown.qmg to system/media folder Make sure the permission is correct (now on at&t just removed the shutdownloop.qmg not sure if that file is present on t-mo but you can remove it or just transfer it to your sd card)
3. Reboot and you wont have the loop circle animation when you shutdown your device
Thank you sinichi21! Works perfectly. Finally rid of the last att crapware on my Straight Talk device.

I am on TMO and want to get rid of it as well.
Does this take care of the shutdown stuff as well?

I don't have T-mo but I added on the op the shutdown animation of stock international you can try it and see
Verified that this does not trip Knox!
Thank you sir! I was trying to get rid of the AT&T boot animation before through Rom Toolbox but it just made my lockscreen flash on/off. This is a cleaner solution.
I opted to not use the sound file, but renamed the stock one to PowerOn.bak and now I have a silent boot.
Thanks!

Yes it sure does if you install the shut down portion mentioned in the OP, works like a charm. Thanks a lot for this!!!!
This worked great. Thanks!!
I love it thank you sir now no more AT&T
It's a trap!!
Works great on my Verizon Note 3. The stock bootanimation was bright enough to sear retinas and induce seizures. Thanks for sharing this

I haven't done too many boot animation hacks, can anyone add a little more detail for this instruction...."Make sure you correct the permission"?

Long press the .apk you just pasted and select PERMISSIONS and make sure you change permissions to match the original such as rw-r--r-- in this case. Make sure you do this for each .apk you paste so it matches permissions for the apk you are replacing.
wow it works awesome.. I just tried it on my bro's note 3.. thank u very much...
Wow thanks for the post, always thought this would be a little trickier. Don't know why people risk flashing "unknown" .zips to try and do this when all you gotta do is move a few files around but I digress. Thanks again for telling us the correct files, and for the ones you gave us it works perfect

As a quick side note, for anyone wanting to ditch boot sounds, the 'poweron.ogg' file can be renamed to 'nopoweron.ogg' or even removed to avoid boot sounds with any animation
