Annoying problem with Google Plus - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm trying to change the notification sound in Google+, but it just stays silent. I go into the account settings and try to change the sound, but it stays silent. It even says "silent" in the area where you change the sound! I can change the notification sound in every app. Even Gmail. But not Google+.
Is this a bug? I Googled and found nothing. Maybe someone here knows something I don't.
Please help.

I ended up clearing data. That fixed it. Thanks anyway!

[Q] How Do You Clear Voicemail Notification?

Orange UK does not let you listen to new VM until you have created a personalised greeting. A real problem if you are traveling...
So I finally create a greeting and listen to VM, but notification still there 3 days later. Rubbish.

I'm also on orange. Voicemail notifications kept appearing for me until I would delete the voicemails. Then no more notifications. Not ideal, but eh.

[Q] Notifications go silent on the Skyrocket

Hi all,
I've been a member for a while, but this is my first post in a while.
I recently changed my Motorola Atrix to a Samsung Skyrocket. I love the phone, however I am having a little problem. The Skyrocket will not make noise or vibrate for notifications (such as text, or email, facebook, twitter, etc) but will play ringtone for phonecalls. When I restart the phone, it will work maybe for a day, but after that, it stops working again. Sometimes after receiving a call the notifications will start working again. I've checked the volume settings, and the notifications and ringtone settings, and everything like that... it's all normal. Any suggestions? I've been searching in the forums, and other sites as well, but dont seem to find anything.
The phone is rooted, but that's about it, stock rom. I also did a master reset on the phone as well.
I was using go sms but deleted it and the notifications still go silent.
Any help would be really appreciated!
Thanks!
Hopefully someone here can help ya. I still have not found a solution
Ome thing I never really thought of was trying an Odin restore back to stock...a full clean slate. If that doesn't fix it then definitely a defective phone

That's what I did this morning. So far it's working perfectly, hopefully it will keep working.
Thanks for the reply!
I installed Go SMS again and seems to be working. What I did notice this time around, is that when I was setting up the notifications for the Facebook app, I noticed the option to choose from the Android System ringtones or from Go SMS. Maybe I had it set up to choose ringtones from Go SMS. Seems to be working fine now.
The notification volume and incoming call volume are seperated. The notification sometimes changes somehow idk how. If you want the incoming and notification to be the same download MySettings. The open the app up and click and hold the ringer icon then itll come up with volume settings. Check the box that says use incoming and notification sound together

Text Notification Sound Playing Twice

I just got an Atrix 2 running stock Gingerbread, nothing else done to it. My question is, when I get a text message, the notification tone is playing twice within 1 second. I have the same sound set for google voice and it only plays once per message. I know it's something I'm missing in the settings but....? Any help?
try changing tone and check ?

Try clearing your stock messaging application data: settings>manage apps>(find your stock messaging app)>clear data, then reboot. See if that solves things...

I figured it out. When I got the phone yesterday and set it up, it asked me to recover previous apps or something like that so I did. It reinstalled a app called Ringo Lite that I was using back in the Samsung Craptivate days. Ringo was set to play a tone as well as the messaging app. Thanks for the help guys! I keep praying for Official ICS! :good:

[Q] Google Now constant refresh

Is anyone else seeing Google now constantly trying to refresh but never finding anything?
All I see is the weather going nuts in my notification bar, and Google now trying to work with the refresh bar going all the time. Of course the screenshot doesn't tell much because it is just a still image, but the bar under the Google search bar just keeps trying to work but never stops.
Also, my Google keyboard keeps texting itself to the default keyboard even if I set Swype as default.
