You hold the power button for 10 seconds and it forces a reboot.
This is baked into the bootloader so unless your bootloader is corrupt then it will always work, but if your bootloader is corrupt then your phone won't power on anyway so the force reboot would be the last of your worries

Not sure if it would help but have you tried removing the battery for a bit and putting it back before trying to go into recovery or bootloader? Just to ensure a clean state of the phone hardware.

If you don't notice anything wrong happening when you actually boot up the phone (ie memory wiped, apps not saved) then I wouldn't think much of this issue, unless it annoys you.
No it does not say what is updating I guess I leave it go for now it's only on the screen for a few seconds
Thanks anyway

[Q] Cant enter CWM menu..

My phone can enter cwm just from ROM manager but when i try with hold Power + Volume down + Home botton, it doesnt work..
Need help because i got boot loop, my phone stuck on ROM Logo
Need to know what phone you are running. For the s3 unplug the device hold power+volume up+home. Once it boots let go of the power. You should see blue writing in the top left of the screen. Vol down is for Odin. Hope this helps.

Black screen

On my girlfriend's nexus 5 when shutdown the phone will not boot without using power+volume up+volume down then start.
I've searched for days and can not find a solution,
I've updated twrp to 2.7.1, replaced the ROM and nothing changes. Sane problem.
Anyone seen this issue?

Problem solved
Did a backup of all apps and photos
Restored back to factory using the toolkit.
Unlocking, new recovery, new rom and now restoring all apks

Hi guys, I was trying to make a screen record with the Gravity Box feature, but I can't stop it for a bug (I think) so I have rebooted the phone.
Now there is this circle when I tap somewhere (look at the keyboard)
What should I do?
I have already deleted Gravity Box, but nothing...

I don't know why, but in the recovery, when it says "no command" I was not able to see other options even if I held power off and the volume + button... Am I doing something wrong?

Boot into the bootloader, then use the vol keys to get to recovery. You should see an android laying on it's back. Push the vol up key to get into the recovery
