[Resolved] Removing pre installed apps on android device

I was wondering if there is a way to uninstall some of the apps which come with the device. Spacifically I would like to remove amazon mp3 sevice, city id and skype. I bet there are more but that's all I remember now.

Ok first things first. Pre-installed apps are know as Bloatware. To remove bloatware root your phone. And download an app from the market called titanium backup and uninstall from their. Should be fairly easy.

How to uninstall Google Books?

Hi,
I've installed Google Books some weeks ago to play with it. But now I'm not able to uninstall it because the option is disabled. Today I went to 2.3.4 but there is the same situation.
Is there any way to get rid of it?
thanks
It is a system/app. Im pretty sure, you have to root and use something like root explorer to delete it from the system.
Its installed as part of 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 ROMs. I installed it manually when I was on 2.3.2, but its now disabled as I'm not in the US and I'm running 2.3.4.

+1 or use Titanium Backup or uninstall it or ADB or whatever your most comfortable with
root access is a necessity.

I thought this is the result of my installation. It means everybody has Google Books by default?

Everybody does have Google books installed but if you are outside the US it is usually frozen and doesn't show up in the app draw.

[Q] Restrict access to installed APKs

Hi.
I recently discovered that any application can access apk-files of other installed applications via ApplicationInfo.sourceDir and read them. Is there any way to restrict access to reading APKs? Because this is potential vulnerability through which can be stolen yet unreleased versions of my apps, for example, or something else.
root and install xprivacy 1.4 on this xda forum.

APP to remove system apps from android 6.0

I used to use rom tool box pro to delete system apps. But it doesn't work on 6.0, anybody know of a app that does it? Thanks in advance
Do you have root?
Yeah.
I've always had a rooted device. Nexus devices don't typically have nearly as much bloatware as other devices running overlays. I typically just google what system apps are safe to remove and I use titanium backup pro to delete them manually. Or you can use the "freeze" option if you ever plan on using them in the future.

Es explorer pro

I know it's not everybody's favourite file explorer anymore but I still use it. I am not concerned about it collecting data as I have it blocked by firewall.
One thing that has happened recently is that it won't enable root explorer on my shield og tablet. It says it fails every time. I click the toggle and it gives me the message 'sorry test failed. This feature cannot run on your device'.
My device is rooted and the free version of ES can successfully explore root, but I don't like that version as it is too bloated. I have emailed the dev but that was a week ago with no reply. It did this on the 4.2 and I have just clean installed 4.3 and it still gives me the error.
Anybody else still use ES Pro, do you have this problem? Is there a work around? Any suggestions?

Hmm! Thanks for the reply. I take it you use the pro version and the toggle to explore root switches over fine? Also which room are you using? It used to work on my device but it stopped on 4.2. Even after a clean install of 4.3 it still gives me the error.
Can anyone confirm this on the original tablet. Either on 4.2 or 4.3.

Weird now mine has broke too, and yes it was the pro version, it worked fine this morning and so I tried the free version also doesn't work. So I think I need root browser too now or maybe solid Explorer

You definitely have root right? ? The free version works for me but the pro version stopped. I have solid as well, which I currently use for root browsing (because I have to) , but I prefer to use ES as I just find it better.
It has crossed my mind that this is some sort of underhanded move from ES to push people to the free version, as they haven't updated the pro version in quite a while. Hmmm!

Also I noticed the feedback option built into the pro app has been deactivated and will fail everytime I send a ticket (I unblock from firewall when doing this). Which is a tad weird. Dev also doesn't reply to emails. All indicating that maybe the pro app is abandoned.

I installed the free version today to test but yep 100% rooted mate

For some reason it just doesn't ask for superuser permission. Clicking on the root toggle should trigger this, but it simply does not. Why?
Sent from my SHIELD Tablet using Tapatalk
Just checked through my Supersu logs and ES pro has not once ever requested permission. It seems to be something wrong with the app and not my device. Can anybody shed any light on this?

The problem lies with ES File Explorer - this has been covered in the SuperSU threads numerous times.
The ES developers have to correct their code to properly work with current versions of SuperSU - but haven't as of yet.
See compatibility notes from Chainfire: https://plus.google.com/+Chainfire/posts/N6EARb8LF3d
With all the bad news about ES, I've dropped it and moved on (FX File Explorer for me) as have many others. Otherwise, install an older version of SuperSU (pre v.2.69).

Thank you for shedding some light on my problem. I appreciate it.

I've ES File Explorer-3.2.5.5_com.estrongs.android.pop-229.apk to offer. If that may help.
