Hello, I live in the UK and I got a Samsung Galaxy S for Christmas, but now I'm returning it to Amazon for a refund because I paid £250 for it and it's only a single core, so I think that a Dual Core phone would be a much more worthwhile purchase, and would last longer. (and I had the lag issue on SGS).
Now, the problem is I'm not sure which one to get. The Galaxy S II is off the list because of price (£400+), and the HTC Sensation is good but I'll probably have to wait a bit before I can afford it (£330 at the moment).
This leaves me with the LG Optimus 2X - only £250, however I'm really skeptical about this one, as people keep saying it keeps rebooting and freezing etc etc. It's a shame because my mind was set to go for the LG
So yeah, I'm really confused now. Can anybody give any advice?
How about Galaxy R ??
Same as S2 but with scLCD Display

Thats still insanely expensive...
I'm seriously considering buying an MI-ONE.
I watched some reviews and i'm impressed by quality/price of this phone (~£250).
It has an Snapdragon MSM8260 dual-core CPU 1.5 GHz with the Adreno220 and 1Gb of Ram with an MIUI based ROM and unlocked bootloader.
The only thing that stoped me so far is the lack of support in my country (must shippit to china 4 warranty).
Galaxy S+ is also a good single Core option
i suggest a Samsung Galaxy Wonder, although it's also just single core it's not that big and has a really good appearance. all phones do lag my friend and it can't be avoided, even an i3 computer lags too, so i would say it's a part of devices and you shouldn't worry about it. better choose the one with the looks
Not sure what the price is there in the UK, but I really love my Motorola Bionic. Dual core 1GHz and 1 GB RAM. 8 Meg forward camera and 1.3 Meg rear for video chat. 4.3 inch (11 cm) screen. Super fast.
if i were u i keep galaxy s , its a good phone , what u want from a mobile ?? a good camera ? if u want good camera dont buy galaxy s becasue it dont have flash however in dayligh its a good camera .
you can buy a desire hd htc
I like both tablets for their size and capabilities, but which one will get more development? Thats major for me. Also, how is the PLS displays? Ive never owned anything with a PLS, but Ive had an IPS Nook Color and I thought that was great.
Galaxy tab: Plus or 2?
Which one will have better development support is hard to say. Basically I think, it depends of which is going to be sell better. Will the Galaxy Tab be retired or is it going to be sold along with the Tab 2 Plus?
If I had to buy one, I would probably buy the Tab 2: cheaper and it already has ICS. The extra .2 Ghz is worth only if you use demanding apps (games) and even so, may be is not that bad (the Tab 10.1 has 1Ghz processor).
I own a Tab Plus and I have no complains with the screen.
I too am trying to make this decision. I just bought my 7.0 plus and now see the 2 is announced. I can still return my plus. Besides a smaller price and ICS, I really dont see much of a difference. If my 7.0 plus gets ICS, then Im not sure I can justify the time to set everything up again.
I'm a contented 7plus owner, but I was in the Erie, PA Best Buy today and there were 5 boxes locked up with the box clearly printed on the side with Galaxy Tab 2 and 7.0 in smaller text on the line below it. The employee said they had just arrived and they didn't have one on display. I was in a hurry so I didn't look into it further.
Im buying the Tab PLUS but I'm waiting for the Tab 2 to drop because I want to see how the Tab PLUS are affected pricewise. Even though the Tab 2 is priced well, its gimped. It has TI OMAP processor and PowerVR SGX540 GPU. The exynos and mali is superior in every single benchmark I've seen online. The only upside for the Tab 2 is that it is ICS out of the box, thats it, everything else is inferior to the PLUS. I've done a lot of researching with both and came to the conclusion that it is worth paying a little more for the PLUS. I'm hoping that when the Tab 2 releases, a bunch of uninformed people sell their PLUS for cheap, or the PLUS gets a price drop.
I would go with the Tab 2 because it's much cheaper. The only reason why I would choice the Tab Plus instead of the Tab 2 is that it has a much powerful processor. The Exynos beats the OMAP in almost every single department
So I got a Droid DNA the other day because I got it for a good price ($300) and the specs are rockin, however, I'm not quite falling in love like I thought I would. I was highly considering a LG Optimus Vu P895 before this phone and seriously considering returning/selling this DNA and going with the Vu like I had originally planned.
Problem is that I'll be going from a S4 Pro and 1080p screen to a Tegra 3 and 1024x768 screen. The plus sides to the Vu though are double the storage space (16GB vs. 32GB - neither phone has expandable storage and I love having music and shows with me) and the 4:3 screen really makes for a nice e-reader and web browsing experience. Plus, despite it's hate, I like having the option of using Flash in the browser on the ICS ROM that the Vu comes with.
See, thing is that I had a Galaxy Note 1 before the DNA and really like the whole "phablet" thing though I have no desire to go back to it's (now) slow dual-core and think that while the Tegra 3 is showing it's age, it's still a nice CPU/GPU for gaming and what not. Granted, the DNA has a nice 5 inch screen...but it doesn't feel big...definitely not a phablet.
So is it crazy I'm considering downgrading from the DNA to the Vu? DNA is a nice phone, don't get me wrong...I'm just not as blown away as I thought I'd be and really just feel sort of "meh" about it.
Thoughts?
The Tegra 3 is a no-go. The apps are not optimized for this chip and it also tends to overheat badly. S4 Pro is a newer architecture and is a lot better than Tegra 3.

Hello everyone! I want to buy a new phone for me and don't look at the budget because I can buy any phone on the market.
I like phones which are under 5.5" because I had a note 3 and it's very big -.- (I know that is 5.7" but 5.5" is bigger as well). Also I want the phone to take pictures/videos in a good quality and to run every game in the market on maximum. I know that every phone in 2014 can do this, like the samsung galaxy s4 or lg g2 it's perfect for me but I had a problem Samsung Galaxy S4 is snapdragon 600/snapdragon 800 and octa core. I prefer to take a quad core, but the snapdragon 800 don't seems to have many roms or developers and the snapdragon 600 seems to be a little bit old. But if we look at it, isn't really old because he can run everything at maximum, shoot in fullhd, good camera, etc. I am thinking at a G2 or Nexus 5 but they don't have a slot card (i know that 16 gb it's ok and 32gb is more than enough for me maybe but I like to have an sd card to expand my memory..you never know). I'm waiting G3 but the phone isn't really launched to test it and see how good it is (i know it have 5.5" but seems to be too awesome for now). Samsung Galaxy S5 maybe you will think that it's just ok for me but to really say it..the screen..i mean the colors are too oversatureted and I really don't know. Maybe an S4 is just good for me.
So, what to buy between an Samsung Galaxy S4 Snapdragon 600 / Samsung Galaxy S4 Snapdragon 800 and other device?
Well my dream phone is the Note 3. But no money. I have a friend that has the S4 and loves it. Me a cheap java Samsung phone
Snapdragon 800 is way more better than 600 so i would go with it.
But if i had a choice then nexus 5 was my answer since it is a google flagship and what not.
For storage expansion i would say, we dont keep all the worlds junk inside a smartphone and 16 gigs are not that poor.

If you can get an invite, get the Oneplus One. It is 5.5 inches, runs a tweaked version of CM11 and packs all the best specs. Its not 64 bit but it looks great none the less.
I know that with sammy moving towards Tizen, ill be less focused on them and definitely looking for alternate brands.
As we come closer to October, it's always fun to speculate!
Would you rather have the LG Nexus 5 or the Huawei made Nexus 5?
here's a re-cap on the "rumored" specs so far:
LG Nexus 5:
- Snapdragon 808 processor
- 4GB RAM
- 5.2 inch display
- 2700mAh battery.
Huawei Nexus 5
- Snapdragon 810
- 3500mAh battery
-5.7 inch display
- likely 4GB of ram
so, yeah...which one would you choose?
-Justnspace
Definitely LG.
Would prefer the one coming with 820.... 808 is weak in graphics and 810 is heater which becomes a oven in India.... ??
Definitely the LG. Since these phones are kinda being seen as "sequels", the Hauwei Nexus is just too damn big for me, same exact reason why I don't want an N6. The LG model seems like it's gonna be the perfect update to an already capable design.

Would like the future LG Nexus to have at least 3000mAh battery. Might go with the Huawei if it is only 2700.

LG all the way...
LG without question.
I'd rather just get the N6 if it ends up being that Huawei. Actually, I would just keep my N5 2013 at that point..
LG did very well with the N4 and N5-13...so why not again.
Gesendet von meinem Nexus 5 mit Tapatalk 2
LG without doubt
Interesting results so far.
I am happy with the way LG handled the nexus 5 2013 and will likely not stray away from them in 2015.
LG all the way!
(I S hold have done a poll)
I will just avoid anything with 810
Where did you hear it will be the 810? I've only heard rumors of 820.
That a side I would prefer the lg unless like others mentioned that is the battery size then I'll give the huawei a shot. Also depends on other things too. Speaker placement, wireless charging, price. Ect
LG for damn sure. Nexus 4 have already served me well for 2 full years, and Nexus 5 as a backup device also gave me a nice impression. It just feels like Nexus should be made by LG by now... especially since no one else got it "righter" than LG

I dont know if 808 is such a good decision considering that the g4 has it and lg is planning to release a 820 version already later this year. I dont know.. I would rather have the 810 or 820 which really is a jump
remember, these are all just Rumored specs. All three companies(google, LG, Huawei) have been silent
even if Huawei releases the 820 (I heard the chip is coming out in Dec. so, it wont be in phones till at least summer '16) it looks as if most people would still choose the LG made Nexus.
I loved my N5. but I had to switch to LG G4 because of speaker/sound quality. I need all day long to talk on phone and it became really anoying after couple minutes the poor sound.
But the N5 support on developement is great and esteticly I loved it.
So I'm really excited about the new N5.
I just hope it wont be equiped with SnapDragon 810 because of overheat. Where I live in summer it's about 40 degrees, so... you know
Ans for sure, I hope LG will release it!!!!! LG all the way!
Wow, look at those poll results, lol. After using the Nexus 6 for a couple months and never really enjoying it I am waiting for a smaller phone. Even 5.5 is too big. I am hoping a 5.2" LG will feel similar to the current Nexus 5.
This big phone trend is completely idiotic, its like no manufacturer scans the market to see what people want. The sweet spot for most people is 4.7-5.0 (more or less). Yet they keep making phones too ****in big and give no alternative, its just plain stupid. They just release the "mini" versions, completely idiotic cripled versions of flagship phones, overpriced. Sony is the only one who has some sense about this, but their prices are way too high.
If any brand like lg or sony or htc made a flagship phone with a good cpu, a 4.7 inch screen(or maybe even 5.0 with reduced borders) 1080p, 2 or 3gb ram, a good 3000mah battery and a price point of around 350 euros or something, it would probably become the top selling phone in little time. But no, lets make them all 5.5 or even bigger and always with some flaw to keep the consumer from buying it lol.
True that some people like big phones, but most people dont...I dont understand why manufacturers cant figure this out honestly...

With the exception of battery you described three nexus 5. Or z3 compact (and it's not selling that much) I want the same size screen as nexus 5, but definitely more than 2gb of ram. 3 minimum, but would like 4 so the phone could last more than a year.

you just reinforced my point. Nexus 5 flaw: battery.
Why couldn't they just stick a better battery on it, even if it increased the price a bit? I like my nexus 5 very much but i hate battery life on this phone and will probably exchange it for a better alternative(hopefully the new 5.2 nexus if it comes with good battery life)
the z3 compact isnt selling much because its price is way too high. Put its price around 250 euros (which would suit given the specs it has) and it would sell like a flagship phone. It was actually one of my choices before the nexus 5. But when i saw the price asked for it...way too high and went for the N5 instead
btw i would rather have 2gb ram with a good battery than 3 or 4gb with a crappy one...since manufacturers always want to cut costs i would prefer they would not cut on battery
