My nexus 4 seems to disconnect n reconnect the wifi itself when it is conected to my laptop via connectify...............plz any suggestions ????????:angel:

I have decided to stop using broadband from good old Richard and instead use the WIFI Hotspot on my laptop which is a tad slower but managable
I currently have 4 WIFI Routers in my house, Living Room, Back Room, Bedroom 1 and Bedroom 2 which I used with the broadband
Is it possible to have the internet from my phone connected to these WIFI Routers this would enable my laptop to have constant access to my media server and other PC's using VNC because I keep having to disconnect from my phone to connect to one of my WIFI Routers
Any help would be awesome

PS. And am not a WIFI freak, my 6 PC's are all hard wired to the network plus I have 2 laptops for wireless, I could have bought switch's instead but thought what the hell lets make them all WIFI just for the hell of it,
It's an improvement on the LiveView. It stays connected to my Note N7000, when I disconnect the Bluetooth it functions as a watch, I can also go into other rooms and the Bluetooth connection stays connected.

I just got a Netgear PTV 3000 dongle and when I use it with my nexus 5 the internet stops working, rendering the thing pretty useless.
The odd thing is that the phone is showing that wi-fi is on and connected when Miracast is on.
When I switch Miracast on, the Internet immediately stops working, then even if I switch Miracast off it won't work unless I disconnect from the wi-fi connection and connect again. Also if I disconnect from wi-fi when Miracast is on, the Miracast connection will be dropped, I thought Miracast didn't use local wi-fi connection ?
Any ideas why this is happening. I herd that sony xperia Z for instance can't use wi-fi when Miracast is on, but surely this is not the case with Nexus 5 ? Perhaps my TP-Link router somehow conflicts with Miracast ?

I can't reproduce your described experience using the same Netgear receiver (but different router). I am stock kernel and ROM (but rooted).
I would ensure the PTV is fully up to date on firmware, recycle that thing, and try again.

I have a rooted stock Nexus 5 that has a fast 4G connection.
I'm looking to a way to share this with some devices that only have ethernet connections. (use my 4G if my Fibre goes down)
I have a USB OTG Ethernet cable, when I plug this into my Nexus 5 it's recognised and when connected to my LAN I get a DHCP Address and can use the phone online via the USB OTG Ethernet connection over my Fibre.
I'm trying to find out if it would be possible to enable the 4G on the phone and then share this via the USB OTG Ethernet Cable to other devices on the network... effectively using my phone as a 4G router.
Does anyone know of a way to do this ?

I don't know if you can share internet via USB Ethernet.
However assuming you have wireless router with your fiber, in case fiber goes down you can have your router join your nexus 5 hotspot network and act as an bridge instead of AP

I'm going to set this up to test, but was wondering if there was a way to AC charge the phone while it's connected via USB to the router!
