My wife just pruchased a Noria tablet and is having trouble downloading apps and games.
I set her up so that she can connect to our wifi, got her into Google Play store, but she keeps getting an error message, something like "Error retrieving date from ...."
I even tried it several times, and get the same message.
I am NOT a programmer, Hacker or even a computer Geek (all used with utmost Respect) but I am fairly tech knowledgable.
I know that the wifi is working, as I downloaded the same files to my HTC One X Android phone, but still nothing to her tablet.
Any ideas?

Hello all,
I had purchased Spectral Souls through the android market recently. Now, I am on a non-paid android market zone (Dubai, UAE) but I used market enabler to make the purchase. I have purchased other apps/games from the market without issues.
I am on a 16MB wifi connection; but no matter how many times i try and download the data; it keeps giving me the "CANT CONNECT TO SERVERS" problem!
I tried everything; mounting, deleting the data, and unmounting and trying again... I tried opening the ports to 8080, and also tried to download the latest version; i STILL am unable to download.
I shot them a few mails; and after some correspondence - this is what they eventually said.
"If that is not working, then there could be a network incompatibility with your own network, this is very rare but not impossible, if that is the case just provide us with your google checkout order # and we will proceed the refund."
I did get a refund; but i want to play the game. Anyone got any ideas what may be going wrong? or what can i do to get it to work!?
I'm having this same problem. Does anyone know a fix for this?
I have purchased some movies from Google play and I am unable to play them on my tablet. Has anyone else had this problem? I had tried both downloading and streaming and I only get the loading circle. Sometimes I will get an error message or the app will stop playing, recently I even had a forced reboot of the device. I have tried playing them on the computer and on my phone and they work just fine. Hope someone has a solution.

There are already threads about this, use the search button.
I myself even reported this to Google, as have others.. I went through their entire trouble shooting process, submitted logs, everything.. and they basically gave me the cold shoulder.
They do not care whatsoever and are not offering any fix or estimated fix date. I know several people have gotten refunds when they press the issue with Google but do not expect them to fix the app.
Bottom line is they don't care since there's not enough Tab 2 users.
Hello dear forum,
something weird happened to my One S 2 days ago and I would need your help, since I am, not very smartphone-savvy. I will try to describe the problem as detailed as possible.
It is important to mention, that since a few months the phone's USB connection didn't work properly (I can charge the phone on the PC, but it won't be recognised as a device by the PC). Also the phone doesn't seem to have an SC card?? I never really noticed this, but now it puts an obstacle in my way cause there is no easy way to recover my gallery etc.
While I was manually updating my apps (at the time of the happening: WhatsApp and Skype), I suddenly got the popup message "Google Play store stopped working". I wiped recent apps and started the play store again. Suddenly, various apps (Google Drive, Gmail, Play Store, Clean Master, you name it..) all stopped working and I got a huge amount of these "stopped working"- popup messages, including "android.process.acore has stopped working".
It was impossible to get rid of the messages, because they kept appearing over and over again on the screen.
I tried to restart the phone, which didnt fix the problem. It seemed like my apps just kept crashing over and over. I rebooted again after a while and everything seemed fine. My data was also still there and wifi worked too.
But then the phone froze. I tried restarting it via the hardware button. Since then, the phone seems dead. It only starts when connected tot he charger, but always keeps freezing at the "HTC One S" startup screen.
Now I mentioned the USB connection was not working properly even before this happened. I still tried plugging the phone into the PC, and it seemed to be searching for drivers for a certain "QHSUSB_DLOAD".
I have no idea what this means and would like to ask you for suggestions on what to do (or if there is anything I could do at all). I don't have much hope, but the best case scenario for me at this moment would be to have my photos recovered.
Thank you VERY much for your suggestions, it will be hugely appreciated!

My tablet has been running fine for years. I don't do much with it except home banking and reading with the nook and kindle apps. However, for the past week I haven't been able to connect to the Nook site to download any new books. The site still works as I've downloaded new books to my PC and phone. When I try I get the message "a secure connection could not be established" thru the browser and "unable to connect to the server. Try again later" thru the app. Any suggestions on what to do?. I noticed that I can still log into my bank. However, I would really like to be able to continue to read from my Nook app. My tablet uses Android version 4.0.3 As I said, it worked fine a month ago when I bought several new books.
By the way. I have already reset the tablet to factory settings and now can't even sign in with the app.
So, I'm running an old Nexus 6P
Android 8.1.0
Stock Rom, Rooted (Magisk)
A few months ago, I noticed some apps were no longer logged in. I tried logging in and authentication failed (mostly silently)
Twitter: account login gives message "cannot create account"
Pocketcasts: login appears to work, but actually fails silently
Dropbox: "Unknown error, please contact Dropbox customer support."
Apps that continue to work: Facebook, LINE, Instagram, Mega,
By trying Tweetings, I am able to get a semi-useful error message from Twitter: "401: Authentication credentials (https://dev.twitter.com/auth/docs) were missing or incorrect. Ensure that you have set valid consumer key/secret, access token/secret, and the system clock is in sync."
My guess is that there's something wrong with how my phone deals with Oauth, since it's broken on multiple apps.
Things I've tried:
uninstalling and reinstalling the apps
upgrading to the final version of the stock ROM for the Nexus 6p (I was a year behind)
checking my clock settings to make sure time zone is correct and that network time is on
Things I'd rather avoid:
factory reset (it takes me a long-ass time to get my phone set up the way I want it after that, and it will be especially bad if it then doesn't work)
Any ideas? My even older Nexus 6 (also rooted) has no problems like this at all, so it does seem to be some kind of issue on the phone.
Thanks in advance for anyone able and willing to help me troubleshoot this, it's been driving me nuts for ages.
