Could anyone offer me some help with my Tab (GT-5110) please. I am not able to see any 5GHZ networks. My other devices (PC / mobile phones etc) can all see the 5 GHZ networks ok. My tab is up to date and on the official 4.2.2 firmware.
Samsung did confirm to me that the Tab 2 is 5 GHZ enabled.
Kind regards

Samsung have now booked it in for repair, so according to Samsung is 100% 5GHZ enabled.

Repair centre now say that the Tab 2 does not operate on 5GHZ since latest Samsung software/firmware update.
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks
Steve
Device returned and the covering letter states "we have installed the latest approved software", strange that, as the firmware is 4.1.1 and when I check for an update, there is an update available, which I assume is 4.2.2. Also the TAB still can not see 5GHZ on 4.1.1.
Can anyone help?

As far as I can tell, the Tab 2 Wifi hardware doesn't support 5 GHz. It's amazing that Samsung didn't just tell you that.
I'd love to be proven wrong, as my Tab 10.1 DID work on 5 gig. Just not the Tab 2.
Samsung now say that it will not work with 5GHZ and this is from high up. Just wish that they provided the correct information at the first point of contact and I would not have not have been without the Tab for 2 weeks and spent 5 hours on the telephone.

Hi everybody,
After a message for software update I updated my tab 2 7 to Android version 4.0.4.
My tablet isn't rooted or anything. All works fine, but I can't see my home network anymore. Can't connect to my router anymore.
The Wifi is fine, because I can connect with my Samsung Galaxy S2.
I tried resetting my router and even did a factory reset for my tab 2 7, but nothing.
It sees other networks, but not the one from my router though.
I have a Dlink Dir-655 router with the latest firmware, 1.31EU.
What should I do?

A last question: any idea when such a fix will be available? It seems to me that if Samsung updates the first thing that should work is making contact with the internet.

Were you able to find a workaround? I just got mine and it came with 4.0.4 already and won't connect to my router. It will connect to my phone's wireless hotspot, but that's a bit slow...
I use p3100 with stock rom 4.0.4 and have similar problem. Sometimes when i turn on wifi, my tab can't connect to router. If i restart my tab, it connects immediately. I've restored to factory setting but not solve it. Wifi of my tab is weaker than my HD2.
I have a vzw note 3, Model SM-N900V, android 4.3, baseband N900VVRUBMJE, kernel 3.4.0
When connected to the PC it connects as a media device and eventually shows the root directory. It then disconnects and reconnects every few minutes. Another, possibly related issue is the wifi connection is characterized as "unstable" in pop-ups on the phone. This only happens if Mobile Data is unchecked.

You might want to maybe, I don't know, ask this in the vzw Note 3 forum instead of the vzw Galaxy S3 forum.

Absolutely. I can't find the Note 3 Q&A (help) forum. I also can't get the search to work for me (I always get the cat).

lucky you mine suffer from it a lot. tried different wifi servers. still problem exist
like for example im playing mc5 online my device repeatedly saying that there's no connection while im still connected on wifi
tried comparing side by side with my phone ( nexus 5 ) the my k1 is the only one suffering that wifi drops
WiFi is fine here too. Went fine anytime or always failing? Time to rma would say
Sent from my SHIELD Tablet K1 using XDA-Developers mobile app
On my tablet, the 5GHz signal is holding steady under Marshmallow, whereas it would drop from time to time under Lollipop.

that is my first solution. but ended up bad, i contacted the customers support but sadly this tab has been purchased in ( switzerland ) and brought here in my country ( which is not supported ) customer support said that this tab has not been officially released in her ( bad luck ) -- i ended up enduring this problem hoping for another ota for it.

my modem/wifi access point only supports 2.4ghz which is fine, since i only have 5 mbps connection with a 10 gb per day data cap
- i just notice that this tab cant receive much reception like my nexus 5
Try to change the channel in your router
I've got a K1 running Android 7.0 and am having issues getting it to connect to the hotspot on my Verizon Samsung S8+. Wondering if anyone has run into this before? My Windows 10 laptop connects just fine.
The tablet sees the hotspot, starts to connect then disconnects.
Wrong PW?
No wrong password. I confirm I also have the same issue. And I found more forums online with people claiming they have the same problem. I also can connect to my Galaxy S8+ "mobile hotspot" with my 2 laptops and even from my SmartTV... but *NOT* from my Nvidia Shield K1.
Seems like the s8 doesn't like Nvidia..
Oooh, and make sure to use 2.4ghz!! 5ghz is controller only for K1.
Or
Try it the other way around.

You haven't been able to find any kind of workaround yet, have you?
I've have to make my hotspot unsecured with no password but make it not visible and then find it using the tablet. Only way it works with my sprint s8+
Reporting in - also seeing it on my TMO Galaxy S8 and Shield Tablet K1.
Had to unsecure it to make it work as well which sucks, but at least you can enable hardware MAC filtering for security. Hopefully they fix this soon.
For reference, I had a Galaxy S6 before and had no issues...not sure if this is something on Samsung or Nvidia's side.
It's something on Samsung Nougat.
Same problem. Any fixes??
Hi all,
I have a strange problem with a brand new Samsung J3 2017. It runs on Android 7.0 and everything seems work just fine, except the Wi-Fi. Problem is basically that i suddenly get the message " internet may not be available" but it seems to just work even tho i get this error.
I get this error about 4 x a day and i really do have to switch WiFi OFF and ON again to get internet. I have tested 2 Samsung J330F phones behind severial routers. My other Samsung phone (s7) doesnt have this problem behind the same routers
Does someone maybe has a tip for me ?
I could maybe flash the phone with a stock android version but then i would lose warranty.
I did tested a factory reset twice
