No u need to first have root then install BMM from Gplay......
After which goto the respective thread for MIUI 5 follow the instructions (see if its for ur region some MIUI ROM's don support AT&T fones )

thank you. so what is the difference of normal version and service version?
Normal version will wipe the user data, service not.
I wouldn't change back to official rom.I rather plant my milestone and grow bigger ones )

i am a galaxy s captivate user, i currently installed I897UCKF1 rom, Firmware Version is 2.3.3, kernel version 2.6.35.7-I897UCKF1-CL273832 but now i want to install MIUI 2.1.20 (2.3.7) rom, anyone please help me out to give a complete installation guide or a complete video walkthrough from u. i was downloaded the zip file of miui 2.1.20

first of all many many tnx for the reply, it is an official Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread KF1 rom that i installed on my phone. This build comes with AT&T's Bloatware & Samsung's TouchWiz

yes, my phone is rooted but i have no recovery installed, working with a Indian GSM network n lastly my model is SGH-i897
I got my Phone(SGS2-i9100G) from Dubai with 2.3.6 and i am from Pakistan ....... i updated it to ICS 4.0.3 Indian 1 .....now i wanted to ask if there is any way to find its real stock rom as ICS is now available to almost all countries and wanted to flash the own regional stock rom and i didnt took backup of my old rom .....So my Question is is there any way to find out which rom it came with.......

To be able to flash into a Kitkat Stock-based ROM or KatKiss 5.0.1? I need to stick with stock based so my flashed touch firmware will stay.
If someone could link me to the proper tutorials/guides that would be great.

In order to use the new KitKat ROMs, you actually have to upgrade to the latest stock firmware (JB 4.2). The new TWRP and ROMs require the newer bootloader. I'm not that familiar with the touch firmware and how that works, but I'm not sure if that is upgradable too?
First OTA to 4.2, then install any recovery (see Question and answer section) and then flash ROM.

it fails in recovery says Doesn't work on Odex where do I find the latest one. 1

haven't tested it on stock rom (odexed rom) but I remember some guys said that it would work.
