Sorry, but...
So, what's baseband?
For example, for my phone the Latest SE firmware are:
2.1.1.A.0.6 / 2.1.1.C.0.0
and from that difference, the baseband changes...
So, using Your example may be first xp and second vista?
But where I can read what's are the difference between this two ones?
Is always suggested to change it, anytime a new one release's deployed?
And baseband? How is useful?
Thanks.
Cheers,
M.
Hi
When a rom is based on XXX, does it mean I have to download and install XXX first or is it included in the rom ?
For exemple http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1506752
"Based on stock 2.3.6 Dxkt5"
This is the Asian 2.3.6 for Samsung Galaxy Ace.
I'm french and using european 2.3.6. (XWKT7) (not yet, but downloading. 2.3.4 atm)
Can I install the OmegaRom? And how?
Thanks

Difference between link ROM and firmware at Samsung Updates
Hello,
I am trying to revert back from the latest Jelly Bean update 4.1.1 to stock Samsung ICS. I was going to go through the ROM provided via XDA along with ODIN, but then I checked the Samsung Updates website, and the firmware they provide for the phone is much larger then the one you provided.
I am confused about:
1- what is the difference between the ROM and the firmware.
2- if there isn't any difference why is the one at Samsung Updates much larger then the one linked to here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737855&highlight=stock+rom
3- If there is a difference how does one install firmware rather than ROMs.
4- is there a way to disable automatic updates once the ICS firmware or ROM is installed on the phone?
Thank you very much in advance,
-Z

On xda interchangable words firmware is called the rom.

Sam up dates stock Samsung firmware or a stock rom.

New ROM from India

Guess what! Defy released yesterday in India and it seems to be the one without Motoblur. Since a central european version cannot be used in India, there seems to be another firmware that Motorola came up with.
By the weekend I should have my friend upload the Deblured rom for us to use.
Well if 2.1 is still interesting for some that is.

Yes, I will need to teach my friend to make the backup and upload it from India. BTW seems like the version is called 2.52 . Sounds scary of it being unrootable and non-downgradable.
i got defy recently in New Delhi....version says 2.51.....i thought it had motoblur...now wud check again...
can somebody confirm whether the indian defy is rootable?
i am planning to buy this phone and if it is supposed to get froyo in june, i should rather stick with my galaxy 3.

haven't come across any unrootable rom yet.
and if you do buy it, please post your nandroid backup.
ps there are already froyo roms floating around. and no one knows when would an indian version would come.
ok so i can flash sbf files even if the bootloader is 2.51?
if yes then what is the problem with 2.51 that everybody is advising not to upgrade?

the problem is always that you can't go back. unless you have a nandroid backup. any future upgrade should be fine.
Price of Defy in India ... delhi Region in retail.... anyone.... ?
it retails for INR 18000 at flipkart.com
It's without MOTOBLUR???
Had the same here in Thailand. However I didn't make a backup before I put a custom rom on it. Wish I had!
But it's definitely out there. Mine was a 2.51 rom with static moto boot logo and no motoblur widgets or popups whatsoever. Actually, yesterday I found a file called JRDNEM_U3_2.51.1_DEBLUR_P3_SIGN_SIGNED_UCAJRDNEMARAB1B80AA030.0R_USAJORDANRTCEE_P031_A020_HWp3_Service1FF.sbf.gz at 4shared but now it has been deleted. Don't know if it was real though.

Buddy, A Very Warm Welcome to our Forum. For your queries Here is the answers:
1) Official ICS update is not for my country, so how should I take backup so that I don't lose my warranty.
A: ICS is announced to world by Samsung, so flash this wont loose any warranty but yes, rooting may be.
So, If you would flash Official ICS from Sammobile then no need to worry
2) Also can you please help me with how to update like which software to use to install ICS, like someone was saying odin and others?
A: you can install it using ODIN 3.07V - here is the procedure: Click Here for everything you need
3) Also which version of ICS is better, Nordic one or Austria or anyother country?
Approx, all versions are same except bloatwares providing by them. Few might be extra features then flash the latest one.
In the last, We have Q/A thread it doesn't mean every 2nd thread would be asking HOW to or From Where I can flash ICS.
Use Search option in thread. Coz every question you have asked, already been resolved earlier. There need to search only. Lil bit time taken, but good for our forum.
Thanks Kataria and Nilesh, So if I just update the firmware, I wont be losing any warranty.

Yes...
mj is right...
there are cases when you downgrade..you tend to stuck on boot loop or on Samsung screen..
so the best way to downgrade is simply restore your cwm backup and then reflash the stock firmware..
Thanks MJ and Vipul

CWM: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?u98qal9rxwwvud0 (or)
ODIN: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?50bkbbtblok3b02
ODIN ie pda section always takes .tar file.
Thnx!
Thanks, Actually It was not moving forward so I disconnected and now phone is not opening up, Should the tar file be the one of ICS nearly about 650 mb for galaxy R

[Q] Going into Stock 4.0.4 or 4.1.1 on P3110

Hi, I have my P3110 with CM 10.1
I want to go to stock ROM 4.0.3 or 4.0.4 or 4.1.1
My PDA code is P3110XXALD4
What ROM can I use to go to stock ROM??? I see in samfirmware , but I don´t know what region is my tab
I buy this tab in Lima, Peru
I have another TAB P3110 with stock 4.0.3, How can I extract the ROM for this one , and flash in the other with CM10
no problem...
You can revert back to stock quite easily....
All you need to do is download the official ROM which you can find online or on this forum quite easily...
Once you have the official ROM downloaded you will just use Odin to flash the official ROM back to your tablet. Since you have CyanogenMod 10.1 installed I am going to guess you know to do all of that. Here is a good link for your exact model tablet which provides links to the official ROM that you need.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2007876
There you go hope it helps...
You know you are going to loose your rooted status, but you can always root your tablet again. If you run into problems let me know and I will gladly help you out.

Thanks for answer, the problem is that I cant find the official ROM for my tab
In Kies says PDA : LD4 CSC: LD1 (PEO) (this is 4.0.3)
and when I connect another tab to kies, appear the update to 4.0.4 and say
Recent firmware to update : PDA: LH2 CSC: LH1 (PEO)
Where I can find some of two roms?? I look in samfirmware and cannot find, I don't know if I can use another ROM without problems

SM-N900 4.3 Stock ROM? (XXUDNB1)

Hey!
Is there any 4.3 stock ROM download for N900XXUDNB1 (SM-N900)?
Im searching it now for 2 hours and i could find anything
Any idea?
So here is no download link for 4.3 stock rom?
Or can the "N900UBUCMK1" 4.3 stock rom work?
Look in http://sammobile.com or http://samsung-updates.com
These websites offer stock firmwares for all Samsung phones.

This one seems to be what your looking for
or
http://dl.sammobile.com/OlFZQzErISw...BGU5OWl5DUUc./N900XXUDNC1_N900SERDNC1_SER.zip
He asked for NB1, your link is NC1.
The first site that i searched on, was sammobile.com
I didnt find anything.
Btw, what if i download an XXUDNC1, and install it on my XXUDNB1
Will it work? Or gonna get a hard brick?
If you install the full firmware, it will work fine, as it is stock firmware. You just get updated version.
So if I download an XXUDNC1 firmware (for ex. from sammobile website) and if I install it via Odin, it will work fine right?

As long as model number and CSC match, you should be fine.
Correct me if I am wrong, somewhat new to Samsung phones
