Help buying a US Nexus 5 from outside the US - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

----DELETED----
----DELETED----

Easiest way to get this done would probably be to have your friend in the US buy it for you and ship it to your place. It would probably cost a tad bit more for the US to Mexico shipping but it wouldn't be as much of a hassle as your current attempt.

Buy from swappa. They will ship it to you + cheaper then google play.

Hello guys,
I've been trying to buy a Nexus 5 from the Play Store in the US (I'm in Mexico) but I'm having some trouble. Here's what I've got so far:
-I got a VPN and have a US IP Address
-Made a new US Account on Google Play
-Got a working Virtual US Credit Card (Visa Entropay, i tested it on another site and worked) as mine (MX Mastercard) is not accepted (also tried the method where you use the non-US card and put a US address as billing address but it didn't work)
-Got a Shipping Address in the US (A friend over there)
So when everything is set and i click on "Buy" I get the following message:
Any workarounds? I've tried with different browsers (tried clearing cache and cookies too), even got a friend's account and still it does not work. I'm thinking the problem is with the EntroPay card and the billing address (I registered it with my US friend address, so i think there should be no problem, but who knows). Do you guys know what can be done about this? Or is there by any chance another store that sells Nexus 5's at the same price at the Play Store and accepts non-US cards (or PayPal)?
I'm a bit stuck here, any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You just need to verify your account
go to https://support.google.com/wallet/contact/account_verification
the billing address must be a US address ( you can use any forwarding courier address like MyUs or WorldShip)

juancarlos2992 said:
Just tried that, but it asks me for a document with the billing address AND my Identification Card, or my Driver's License, or my Passport Information Page and i've got no document for the billing address /:
Also tried clicking on the "Verify" button in the Settings section of Google Wallet and it asks me for a Social Security Number, but I don't have one as i don't live over there /:
Is there any workaround?

You can use credit card statement.
I used mine and the address was in Saudi Arabia and they accepted it.
I attached my credit card statement and passport and my account got verified.

I read that it takes 3-5 business day to confirm, does it really take that long? I need to do the transaction this week (So it ships by Dec 11th as stated on the Google Play Store)
Thanks for your reply again!

Hello , I need firmware DAV-701L V100R001C100B002CUSTC100D001_Client Software_Nonspecific(West European)_operatorValue_Android 5.1.1_EMUI 3.1_05013EPU (cf TKB).

Trimis de pe al meu HUAWEI P8max folosind Tapatalk
Did u get it? What's the model number and band support?
Same here. Looking for Software DAV-701L...B002 of the international Version. Will only root when i find this Software. Who can help?
OMG! The one from Amazon.es is the real internatonal version! Its was sealed and is the color is titanium grey (much beter than my chinese gold one). Its so different than the chinese one. It has a EU plug HW-050200E01, Google apps are already on it, so you don't need to install it in the huawei store, all the chinese apps are gone, quick start guide is in many EU languages. And thebiggest change is it supports band 20 4G! Also the gift is a dot case in black and not the ugly chinese brown one
Strange is that on the box there is a stamp with a Netherlands adres from huawei, but the is no store here that sells the internatonal version.

Well 4G works here and not with the chinese one. Vodafone use band 20 800mhz here. How can i check the band support?
Picture:
Wow the gray is awesome hope it supports band 2 or 4 for T-Mobile. Anyone know? Still can't find gray one and amazon spain won't ship to US
Is there a way to check the band support? There is notting on the box or quick quide. They are talking about a custom version (picture 3).
I dunno hope it works for US T-Mobile can't find specs on it or where to order this model from?

Product8 MAX DAV-701L
Purchase Date:2015-10-08
Content:Hello ! Last week I bought a phone HUAWEI P8 Max DAV-701L. I replaced the original firmware with version for China b23. I want to get back to the original version for Europe but we found nothing on the Internet. Please help ! My phone was bought in Romania although the packaging is the origin of Huawei Technologies Netherlands BV, Karspeldreef 4 CJ Amsterdam. So the original version of firmware is for the Netherlands and Western Europe. Telephone data are: ...........xxxxx I need my original firmware DAV-701LV00R001C100B002 The phone is unlocked bootloader! I got a code for it! With more consideration.
===========================================================================================================
Thank you for contacting HUAWEI Consumer Care. That's strange because we don't sell the P8 Max in any Western European country, therefore there's no software available for this device on the internet.
Why did you replace the firmware with the Chinese firmware?
============================================================================================================
As I said in my earlier e-mail, we do not have any software available for the P8 Max for Western European countries due to the fact that this model has not been released for Western Europe.
I can't help you with this unfortunately. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Not possible from my experience with tab 4 7.0's.
modem hw won't work on any bands other then what the device left the factory with.
If you want a tab 4 SM-T239M (the only one with LTE bands supported in the USA and Canada) You will need to buy one from either Mexico or Chile (black or white locked to one of the carriers, Ciaro in Chile, I think Telcel in Mexico), or an Unlocked white SM-T 239M (no black) from Ecuador . Only place I still can find them readily available is on Mercado Libre Ecuador.
For Mercado Libre Ecuador, You need to choose your merchant wisely, no paypal. Either be bi-lingual or use Google translate for correspondence because most of the vendors don't speak or understand much more than a speck of English. Even then, I've had one instance when I specified something like the correct shipping address in email. but the 2nd hand translation to DHL Ecuador by the vendor was really mixed up. The package was on its way to a dhl dist center in Philidelphia because the wrong postal code, among other things in the ship to address had been entered by the DHL associate who accepted the pkg from the vendor..
Many of the vendors will sell and ship using dhl to usa but often only if you offer them an extra $50 or $100 bucks on top of their posted asking price on Mercado Libre Ecuador. Plus you'll be wise to micro manage the whole process of purchasing and getting the device shipped to the right destination.
I gotta say I do love my tab 4 running on ATT LTE bands here i the USA. I wish the carriers would offer 7" Tabs with traditional phones built in (not referring to VOIP) for sale This device although a tad bit slow does everything I need it to do.

3G/4G dongle compatible with the P900 ?

Does someone know a dongle that allow to use 3G/4G on my tablet ? With some apps, I would like to transform it into a "phone" so I could call and use it everywhere (like the LTE variant). For the moment I'm not root since I don't want to trip Knox. Does any know one ? Big thanks in advance !
How can you do that with a custom rom in the first place?

I would get the LTE variant and sell your old one on ebay or something. Even if u do get a dongle, u will have something 2 inches sticking out of a heavy tablet, u will end up breaking the port.
I actually use google voice and hangouts dialer to convert my tablet into a phone and it works really well. I have LTE variant.

Pay with PayPal if possible so in case of a dispute you should get your money back quite fast. Read this too http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/0...-be-trusted-and-history-makes-it-obvious-why/, doesn`t look very trustworthy to me.

Just wanted to thank you. I ordered today from mygsm.me, and it will arrive to UK within 3 days. Very easy guys to deal with. I got the Mocha Gold as well (it was my second choice after Space Grey which they don't have). Just to let everyone know, this is indeed the international version (MHA-L29). I emailed them before buying, and Nash from their sales department confirmed. I'll update with pictures.
I have an AT&T Sim, which can roam on 3, Vodafone, and EE with my Nexus 6p. I'll let you know what the Mate 9 works on.

The European Galaxy S8 variants will not support Samsung Pay

So I was in Europe during the Galaxy S8 launch and purchased a European variant of the phone. After I came back home from Germany to USA. I found out that Samsung Pay is limited to the US variants of the phone. However you can use Android Pay and have the advantage of rooting your phone
This is completely false.
You bought a German phone with a German CSC and Germany is not a supported country for Samsung Pay.
A simple CSC swap and it will work completely fine. Please don't spread wrong information without educating yourself first.
Actually, people hve been having issues getting exynos phones to work with all US cards regardless what forms and variations of firmware csc changes were made. Only some work. The UK version has been the only phone thus far to work without issues in the US with Samsung pay
Nonsense.
My EU variety S8 works fine with SP.
Shame only 3 low rent banks support it here making it pretty useless for now.

Are you in Europe? Because if you are, of course you're supported. We are talking about those working in the US. where pretty much all banks/cards are supported
Works fine the US. My phone was originally a BTU flashed XSA Australian firmware and updated everything through the playstore. Of course the next day Samsung Pay rolled out for BTU after I flashed. Oh well might take it back to BTU if XSA is slow to update.
It's not cut and dried. Depending on the country some features and banks work and some don't. For example, most non-U.S. versions don't work with Amex and some U.S. banks. I use US Bank and it doesn't work with other versions of S Pay but does with the UK version. But for whatever reason even though I'm using a UK phone with UK S Pay it's still associated with my U.S. S Pay account. I'm guessing it has to do with the S Pay Framework on the phone and how the phone identifies itself to Samsung's servers which then communicate to the various financial institutions. Perhaps Samsung's been more liberal with the UK version taking in to account the amount of travel between the UK and the U.S. Using a non-U.S. version of S Pay in the U.S. is definitely a YMMV.

Who even thinks of using it? I do not want to know what will happen if someone steals your phone.

34M people apparently. And 1/3 more than Android Pay at that.
I use it because they give me stuff. That and it's cool to watch it work when the store cashier is condescendingly saying "we don't accept Apple Pay."
