Contacts Question - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This is more of a Kit Kat question I suppose. But when you open up a contact, there's a little guy with a flag up at the top. What's that all about?
Edit: I see it's to flag contacts, but why?

May need to change your settings. Go into the messaging app, hit menu, then settings. You may have it set to delete after so many.
Yeah I saw that but it says after 200 in one thread. does it mean 200 message total or 200 in a individual thread?

If you're running stock or a stock ROM and are using the stock Samsung messaging app, you should be able to backup SMS with a Samsung account. It's not gonna help bring back the ones you lost now, but it can help prevent you from losing anymore from here on out.
Individual basis.

Facebook sync

Are there any Roms that have added the ability to sync facebook contacts yet? I know after a while there were a few for the gnex and nexus 4, but in my quick look around the Roms that usually had it, I saw no mention.
Thanks in advance!
PS, I use Haxsync and it's fine minus being able to bring phone numbers over from FB.

Try this as well if you'd rather stay on your current rom

Need some help

So for some reason Textra made two separate threads out of no where. The original is on the bottom and contains the whole conversation. For some reason no texting app see the original thread and only sees the new one.
I really want to fix this because I need to back up the original thread as I've had it since the beginning. Any ideas?

The old thread is only showing in textra. There's no record on it in the system text database file. I really need to keep this conversation but nothing can see it.

Company name on incoming calls

Hi.
In my previous phone (nexus with stock lollipop) I used to see the company name and logo for incoming calls from numbers which were not in my contact list. I thought that was pretty cool, however I think this is not included in Miui. Do you know if there is a way to enable this using some secret setting or installing an additional apk?
Thanks!

Do you mean this setting? It's in call settings, which is located in system apps or from your dialer.
I never enabled it so I don't know how well it works.

Yes, similar to that although this one is provided by Xiaomi and I don't think this works well outside China.

MMS problem

Running with the latest update on AT&T. Whenever a picture comes in, it comes in from "unknown caller" rather than in the texts from the person it's actually coming from. Happens in Google Messages and the Huawei app. Is there a setting I'm missing?

I had the same issue, I delete all the conversations it sorted itself out for me when new ones came in.
Just got rid of Google messages and went with the Huawei app. Fixed the issue
