need s-off or not?
Boot looping for me, just like the other one. :/
S-off should not be needed. Maybe twrp 2,6,3.0 is needed. That's what I'm using.

Maybe required s-off?
Is there your phone get s-off?
I installed with S-ON and got the boot loop.
To S-OFF, I had to install a 4.2.2 ROM and Revone. I am 1.44 Hboot. Used CWM 6.0.4.5.
Thanks for the heads up. Did fastboot boot.IMG solve?

I flashed the boot.img using fastboot but I'm still bootlooping. Have S-On with GOOGL001 CID right now, have not been able to get any S-Off tools to work.
Same here... flashed boot.img but still boot loop after installing ROM.
I can get it to work with S-OFF (have to downgrade to 4.2.2 to run Revone).
OK thanks I will work on getting s-on installer proper. I have installed with both twrp and cwm. So s-on has got to be the issue. I will get back s-on and figure this out for you guys. I'm not sure if super cid is needed or not so I'll look into that today. On another note deodexed is almost finished.

Appreciate it, thanks! For what it's worth, I've never had any issues flashing other ROMs with S-On. I was running a CM11 alpha ROM with no issues before wiping and restoring everything back to stock 4.3 Google Edition and trying to flash these official 4.4 builds.

Unfortunately htc.dev only unlocks part of the bootloader and you can't flash radio.img or boot.img to the device. Revolutionary will not work on htc.dev unlocked device, and roms may not boot unless official htckernel (boot.img) is used.
Solution is to run your ruu again, and start over using the thread posted above. If that fails there is a way to recover the device, I'll find a link and post it.

OK yes try to relock - its part of the guide posted above. Its a bit of a process but shown to work!

So I finally got the virtuous rom to work by using adb to flash the boot.img and that rom is working. Can't get the bootloader to lock back so I can root with revolutionary or use an ruu. Frustrated.

OK so you have bootable rom and working recovery? Next you need to flash the 2.3.3 rom according to the instructions in the guide posted above. This will downgrade and relock bootloader, you should then be able to s-off & root.

You may be able to find something else by searching, instructions specify a stock rooted 2.3.3 rom, not necessarily the actual one in the link.

Hello, I am fairly new to XDA so, I do not know much. But I am fairly knowledged on technology so just say what you may to help out.
I rooted my HTC One X (Evita) And I installed Cyanogenmod 10 . Now I wanna install cm10.1 nightly, now I installed the
M-2 Release and went back to cm10 now I hear there is a HBOOT requirement.
Now, what would happen if. I tried the nightly (boot loop)?? Because I wanna try it and I don't really trust any other dev except AOKP. Thanks!
There is no requirement. But if your on hboot 2.14 from either a ruu or your hox came with 2.14 then you need to downgrade your touchscreen firmware. The thread is sticked in original dev section. You should be fine flashing the nightly

You have the middle eastern variant of this phone, none of the firmware/hboots/radios etc from the normal version are compatible and will most likely brick your phone if you try to install them. Basically, you can't run any aosp ROM because you can't flash the necessary upgrades. It's unfortunate but you're stuck with Sense ROMs.
The problem is that there simply aren't enough of the middle eastern variant around so there is no development specifically for it, so all you users with that variant are kinda stuck coming into this forum where not everything is compatible.

There's no such thing as hboot 2.20, that's your software version. You need to upgrade your firmware by running the 3.18 RUU. It does state that very clearly in the CM thread. You must have s-off to do this or you'll brick.

Yea thats what I always thought, was just bein sarcastic.. So for the sake of the thread and the O.P. To retain root you would have to flash recovery after running the RUU correct? Because the gentleman that I was originally responding to stated that theres no need to flash recovery, that the RUU does this for us...
Yes you need to flash TWRP again after you run an RUU. The RUU only flashes the stock recovery.

Ya I used that one click tool for XL to get the recovery..now on to further questions instead of making a new thread i decided to reuse this one.. anyways after I got through all that i decided to go ahead and flash some custom roms and ended up with the same results when ever someone sends me pics or videos through text, they will download fine until i connect to a wifi, then i get an error saying "couldn't download now, please try again later. Even when I disconnect from the wifi i get the same error and sometimes will not even get data untill I wipe and re flash but everything works fine with the stock rom.. what could cause this i have tried messing with the data options in settings and nothing works. rom's I have used are
Root box
slim bean
xylon
all of them have acted that same and all use the 3.4 kernel. so I'm stuck on stock until i can figure out whats going on :crying: so any help is greatly appreciated :good:
I've never used WiFi with those ROMs so I'm not sure. But are you sure your apn settings are correct? Also, have you tried toggling airplane mode on and off after disconnecting from WiFi?

Ya tried the apn settings and no go also airplane mode toggle will bring back 4g most of the time but still can't download any mms messages

Faults like this are usually caused by incorrect apn settings but I could be wrong.

Is this on AT&T or a different carrier?
Am I reading correctly, WiFi data works in general, mobile data works in general, just mms is not working?
Yes wifi data and mobile data work but mms won't download with either on custom roms only but will work fine on stock
