[Q] Messed up big time and now confused - HTC Sensation

So on my
HTC Sensation
unblocked
rooted
s-on ( )
I wiped and installed LeeDroid and after that all was good apart from the wifi had error, so like a fool i did the first thing I understood this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1715697
basically installed the LeeDrOiD Shooter - GSM Kernel V5.4 Final
after that was done I got in a boot loop :crying:
I just thought lets restore from a backup but didnt realise that wouldn't restore the Kernel
I have been looking for a stock one to start fresh and start from my backup
PLEASE can someone point me in the right direction as all these kernels are so confusing, even if I can do the following
restore or go back to LeeDroid with the correct kernel for the wifi fix and loop fix :crying:
stressing here big time lol

hi,
see here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631861
in few steps:
flash 4ext recovery
enable smartflash from it
flash the rom

Hi
What recovery are you using?
If you're S-on you need 4ext recovery and enable smart flash there before flashing a new rom.
Also in what hboot version are you? 1.27? 1.33?
Let us know.
Good luck

Phone shuts down after installing new rom

Until today I was using HyperSensation 3.0, decided to try a new ROM and choose BADOSP V 1.1 to test. After back-up/wipe cache-dalvik/format all partitions/installing ROM/reboot. The phone booted normally until the lockscreen showed up, then, immediately shutted down. Powering on again was met with the same results.
I did the process of wiping, formating and installing again in case I forgot something, and again the same thing happened. I tried with another ROM, this time with ViperS 1.0.1, and I got the same thing, power off after the lockscreen shows for the first time. Before restoring the back up, I tried installing again HyperSensation 3.0 and it works... As a last resort I installed a gingerbread RUU to start totally stock, and again... power off in the same place...
I reinstalled 4ext, updated the firmware again to 3.33 and restored my back up to have a functional phone again, but I cannot understand why is this happening.
Can someone out there chime in and help me with this?
Thanks in advance.

I tried with both Sense ROMs. Super Wipe/Install ROM with everything stock/Flash Kernel/Reboot but that didn't work either.

then the only culprit left is recovery ..
try reflashing it or ..update it to 1.0.0.5 RC (also can you check if you enabled smartflash (in 4EXT -> tools) ..coz that some times messes up for SOFF devices and make sure smartflash is disabled )

Sensation XE Please Help

Hello all,
I think i have crewed it all up ...:crying:
A friend gave me his old Sensation XE beats audio phone.
Stock rom was on the phone 4.0.3
Here is the problem...
I wanted to flash a different rom on it and after reading how to unlock etc i finally started.
Unlocked the bootloader using htcdev.com
Installed CMW 5.8.0.9 touch recovery.
Forgot to do the S-OFF
Flashed the rom and got stuck at the rom bootscreen.
Some info:
Unlocked
S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.29.0000
Now i have no backup of original rom and all i have is the original phones boot menu and the CMW.
I really don't know what to do next...
Have searched on XDA but there is so much info that i don't know where to start.
Afraid that i screw it up even more.
Can any of you good folks help me out here please?
I'm really sweating here.
Thanks in advance!
Oops sorry

I did the exact same thing first time I changed my ROM (which was 5 days ago on 29.November) but I had backup.
If I didn't have backup I would have used the ROM posted in point 2. of this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1614617
Now I'm with AOKP JB ROM and works far better than the stock
I came from HTC HD2 which was easier do deal with imo.
No s-off bootloader cid.
But i'm glad i could fix this on my Sensation

[Q] HTC Sensation with cm9, faux, and ARHD

Hello Guys!
First: Sorry for my worst english, i've learned it only from movies and games.
I dont want to post a new thread, but i cant find the answer for MY question.
I want to install Android Revolution HD for my Sensation Z710e.
My phone is: HTC Sensation Z710e
Android version: 4.0.4
Baseband version: 11.76A.3504.00P_11.24A.3504.31_M
Kernel version: 3.0.42-MSM8660-Sense-Faux123-v009+
Cyanogenmod: CM 9.1.0-pyramid
CWM version: 5.0.2.0
I want to install ARHD, but i dont know, because i cant find any instruction, and i'm afraid that i will brick my phone.
I've found great instructions, but not for my CM9 or my kernel.
Or did i complicates too, and the install is easier than I thought?
So can i install ARHD with CM9 and these settings above, or i need to flash back the stock ICS and kernel? Or simply download ARHD files, and flash with CMW, and it works?
Please help me if you can, and i'm really sorry if someone already wrote that problem and got the correct answer.
Thank thank thank thank you!!!

S-ON or S-OFF?
also i suggest you to flash 4ext recovery.it is better than cwm
You could always flash an RUU and start from scratch. It will keep you s-off'ed if you already are, will put a matching radio and firmware. From there you can follow the instructions on the ARHD page.

It's normal, because to install updated from HTC you need stock recovery. If you really want the update(latest has sense 3.6) you should flash stock recovery.
I suggest you try some custom ROMs, they are much better than stock in every possible way. Try ViperS and you won't get disappointed. It has sense 4.1 and sense 4.5 components with android 4.04
Edit: To flash Viper you need 4ext recovery

Yea thats what I always thought, was just bein sarcastic.. So for the sake of the thread and the O.P. To retain root you would have to flash recovery after running the RUU correct? Because the gentleman that I was originally responding to stated that theres no need to flash recovery, that the RUU does this for us...
Yes you need to flash TWRP again after you run an RUU. The RUU only flashes the stock recovery.

Ya I used that one click tool for XL to get the recovery..now on to further questions instead of making a new thread i decided to reuse this one.. anyways after I got through all that i decided to go ahead and flash some custom roms and ended up with the same results when ever someone sends me pics or videos through text, they will download fine until i connect to a wifi, then i get an error saying "couldn't download now, please try again later. Even when I disconnect from the wifi i get the same error and sometimes will not even get data untill I wipe and re flash but everything works fine with the stock rom.. what could cause this i have tried messing with the data options in settings and nothing works. rom's I have used are
Root box
slim bean
xylon
all of them have acted that same and all use the 3.4 kernel. so I'm stuck on stock until i can figure out whats going on :crying: so any help is greatly appreciated :good:
I've never used WiFi with those ROMs so I'm not sure. But are you sure your apn settings are correct? Also, have you tried toggling airplane mode on and off after disconnecting from WiFi?

Faults like this are usually caused by incorrect apn settings but I could be wrong.

Is this on AT&T or a different carrier?
Am I reading correctly, WiFi data works in general, mobile data works in general, just mms is not working?
Yes wifi data and mobile data work but mms won't download with either on custom roms only but will work fine on stock
