I have the Verizon Note 10.1, but am using it with T-Mobile on the $30/month unlimited text/data throttled after 5GB plan with 100 minutes. It's much better than paying $30/month for 2GB with Verizon, but... T-Mobile does include calls and texts, and they're going to waste. Anyone know a way to enable calling and texting over the T-Mobile network? I know the international version supports this. Apparently someone on XDA succeeded in doing just this for the original Galaxy tab. Thanks!

I too have the Verizon galaxy note 10.1 SCH-I925 ; though I use it with Verizon's network, I still want the phone and messages app on my device since I have unlimited calling and texts on my plan. Anyone know how to enable calling and texts?

I just got ATT unlimited gophone plan for $50 a month. It says unlimited voice, text and data, however data does not work no matter what ROM I flash. I get a H signal and the APN settings are correct however for some reason data does not work. My phone is a Nexus i90020a for ATT so it should work. Does anyone else have this problem and a possible solution? Thanks!
If its not a smartphone approved for that plan, it wont work unless you add a smartphone data plan. The only way around this is using an unbranded or a phone not on att databases so it cant detect your model based on imei, since they only keep records for their own phones. But your nexus is a att model and they know it so its gonna be tough getting data on the 50 dollar plan
For example in my case, im using the same plan to have unlim everything and i ONLY use international phones and havent had any issues: Galaxy S2, Galaxy Nexus, and now HTC One X

He's correct. Get an unbranded device. I currently have a Droid 3 with the $10 MediaNet plan.

Turned off 3g and it works on EDGE. I guess if everyone was downloading gigs of unlimited data their network would crash so they only give you 2g. Thinking dumb phones can only download so much on limited technology. Im in wifi all day anyway, only for emails etc when im out of wifi range.
I got the ATT Fusion on the prepay plan and pay for minutes used only. Can still use Wifi for emails, texting, and some calls.
Since this is my first 'smart phone' it was a good way to start and avoid the higher charges for data I don't need to use.
But....having flashed new roms and got used to operating it with various apps the bug has bit me to move on up in class.
I'm thinking about the Galaxy Nexus or maybe even a tablet.
Hello, I have a SGSII, witch is on the AT&T unlimited non smartphone plan. I am currently getting" H+" to my phone. I believe the result of this is me doing some sim changing and a imei number changeing, My question is, Want to get a note 2, and keep my unlimited plan. I have all ready tested my sim in a friends galaxy note 2, and received 4g. I did receive a text from at&t changeing my plan do to the phone switch, but i called them and made them change back. If i was to get a note to from at&t or online somewhere, dose anyone see a way around the issue,
Thanks
I originally purchased the T-Mobile Tab 2 10.1, just to have the 3G/4G capability on my tablet. However, I was disappointed when I swapped in my old sim card that had the Unlimited 4G data plan on it. I was informed that since the Tab2 is classified as an "internet device", they cannot include the Unlimited 4G plan.
So my question is, If I buy the international variant, seeing as they're almost like a phone (since those variants have the ability to make calls), would I be able to put in the sim card with the Unlimited 4G and make full use of it?
First of all, International Tab 2 or P3100 doesn't have LTE or 4G support. If that's not an issue then yes you can use it as a phone to roam internet and make calls too. Hope that helps. Cheers!!

I am a noob here please be gentle. Tethering with out paying on At&t network from Unlimited Data plan using Nexus 5 is solely because the device does not come with preloaded Mobile Hotspot app, no matter how much I tried to uninstall or delete it. My question is then if I buy Samsung Galaxy Note Edge unlock will these comes with preloaded At&t apps? Or was the reason for successful tethering unpaid is due to being Nexus line of device?
AT&T bloatware will be included in every Samsung phone you buy from them. As far as I know, any plan above 10GB included free tethering.

You will not be able to tether with the Note Edge without reporting to AT&T... at least until root has been achieved. Damn near all new devices come with a tethering app that reports to AT&T to check that you are paying to do so. Nexus is capable because the app your using does not report home, but AT&T will catch on if you use a large amount of data on your unlimited plan. They can check browser connection requests that identify if you are using a PC based browser.
I moved from Note 2 to the Edge with this concern. I ended up letting go of my unlimited. AT&T was throttling me monthly, and the rare times that I did use tethering, they would catch on after a week or two sending a letter to stop or purchase the plan to do so. I now have 30gb with tethering, unlimited talk and text for about 20 dollars less than what I was paying. And that's with walking out of the store with the Note Edge.
I peaked at 15gb a month with my unlimited plan, so I feel 30gb unthrottled and with tethering was fair enough. Not too bad a deal.
Hope that answers your questions, and a little insight from someone that was in a similar situation.
Hi all,
I have a Nexus 5 running Marshmallow with Unlimited international data plan (CRU) with AT&T. Tethering works out of box (domestic and international) and has been for a long time. I am considering switching to an AT&T Galaxy S6 and found that I need to switch to a non-unlimited plan (5GB) for tethering. How comes tethering works on a Nexus 5 even though I am on an unlimited plan? Is it because its not an AT&T phone? Will this be true if I bought a Nexus 5X? If this is true, I would avoid any other phone and upgrade to 5X.
Thanks
