Recommendation of apps? - HTC Sensation

Hi guys, any recommendation of apps that help the phone to have better performance and saving battery such as greenify?

JuiceDefender is pretty good for helping battery life - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.latedroid.juicedefender&hl=en

Greenify is IMHO the best, mainly with Xposed (need root)

[Q] Clear recent task or not?

Sorry for n00b question....
Should I clear recent task or not?
I am rooted wit stock ROM + xposed + gravitybox + Franco kernel.
Earlier i had greenify and had poor battery life and more ram usage (I think greenify uses more ram)
Now i have uninstalled greenify. And battery life is improved.
Just want to know whether clearing recent task make any improvement or not?

Look here for more info on Ram management http://developer.android.com/training/articles/memory.html. Stopping some apps will not help that much as some apps restart themselves again.

Hi mate,
Having a high end device and clearing RAM again and again is not good because more amount of RAM usage in Android better would be the performance
This is only applicable to high end devices!
Btw how much battery backup does Franco kernel gives you?

With stock kernel, i used to hardly get 3 to 3.hrs of SOT (screen on time)
But with Franco kernal, I get 4 to 4.5 hrs SOT. Mainly I notice the change in battery consumption during sleep which helps me in having higher SOT.

Android manages RAM differently than other operating systems. In short, less RAM usage is not necessarily a good thing. Apps are stored in RAM so when you launch them, they are more readily available.
The operating system will automatically dump apps out of the background if more RAM is needed for whatever task you are completing at that moment.
If you're experiencing unusual battery drain - even when the device is sleeping - check out an application called Better Battery Stats. It will help you identify what apps are causing wakelocks.
I am using the stock kernel and have gotten over 5 hours of SOT on LTE in the course of a day's use - which is not unheard of.

[Q] terrible battery life on cm11

batery life is draining real fast on cynogenmod 11. is there some app or something to give me bettery battery life. i hear the kernal can be changed to increase battery life how is that possible???
better battery life
You should use a task killer to kill apps you are not using (especially before locking it.) Also use an app like set CPU to adjust the voltage and minimum clockspeed.

minimizing the clockspeed may slow the device down rite? so is there a toggle twitch for powersave and normal mode?

so where then can i get a custom kernel for me device to save battery?
What is your device?
There are several things to do to save your battery. Hibernate apps with greenify is amazing. I've tested and really works. Decrease screen brightness and activity time, limit processes to 3 or 4 in development options also help a lot.

Rooted, Now What

I was just wondering....Since you rooted your S6 what are some of your favorite apps? I use TB, root explorer, adaway, batter battery stats and tasker. Is there any I'm missing?
I loved Xposed framework so much and it was my life saviour with the youtube adaway app, but unfortunately it is not available for Galaxy S6 yet and I don't know if it's going to be available at all...
As for now I think you only missing Greenify app, but for that app to be working fully efficient it needs Xposed framework, so yeah, but it still works without it.
Edit: Those are nice apps as well:

Personally I'll add Call Master and DS Battary Saver (though I do not now if I use any root features on the latter) to that list.

Battery Life

Hi,
I saw here some pepole getting 5H SOT and I get only 3H-3.5H SOT.
I dont have root but I disable most of bloatware apps, also I use Greenify and Doze.
Any tips for getting more battery life?
Thanks!

You can create a question thread in Q&A section here.
For discussion there are already 2 threads in this section.
Please take a look this and this.
Doze - thanks. Hibernate better than Greenify.

Many apps to check which hardware, software is using your battery:
GSam Battery Monitor Pro - probably the best.

Does it make sense to use Greenify, Amplify and Recently in 6.0.1 Marshmallow ?

Hi XDA
Recently got CM 13 on the G2 and I'm happy with it.
I know there's been updates regarding app hibernation and general battery optimization in Marshmallow so I was wondering if it made sense to use the usual Greenify to hibernate apps, Amplify to reduce wakelock frequency and Recently to reduce recent menu clutter.
Thanks in advance.

i would run it a bit and get an idea of your battery life compared to what it was. my phone came with m, si i cant compare, but my battery seems quite good.
a good question would be what besides doze did they add, and what of these was cm able to merge.
as far as doze, that only works when the phone sits in the same place for extended periods, like at night when your sleeping. thats what i was told anyways.
You are right !! Doze works only when the phone sits idle at one place. Hence greenify is still one popular app to have in our phones.
I think it does.
For example if you have low RAM and many apps you can avoid a lot of lag.
I use greenify on CM13 in my Nexus 7.
