[Q] Alarmmanager wakelocks - General Questions and Answers

Hi guys,
I am the owner of an Ascend P1 Huawei and I am running a stock firmware not officially released from the constructor but a stable version.
It never goes in deepsleep except when it is on plane mode so I started to search some solution and I started analysing my phone with Wakelock Detector.
It gives me a result of about x1200 wake call from AlarmManager and Android OS with the most percentual of battery drain.
After that I've tryed to access the AlarmManager.txt o AlarmDump.txt but probably the indications that I found on the differents threads on this forum doesn't work or probably this file has a different name on my phone.
So anybody can help me to access this file? I need it to understand which application of the system is keeping awake my phone.
P.S.: When I got these results I had a factory resetted phone so I had no app and I didn't make calls or data connection.
Thank you so much for the help!
EDIT: I've got the files I was looking for, someone can help me to understand where is the problem

[Q] Pantech Sky Vega A800s Battery Problem

Hi I am using Pantech Sky Vega A800s and it has severe battery problem.
On standby and making calls it's okay but when you start using mobile on wifi or playing games, using camera it starts draining instantly. And if you continuously using it, will drain in 3-4 hours.
I have already put mobile network on 3G instead of LTE but still doesn't resolve the problem. I wonder after having 1830 mA battery i couldn't stay with my phone for a day.
It' has no custom ROM, by running ICS 4.0.4 updated from sky station.
Can any one help and point out the solution? will Custom ROM help this issue?
Thanks in advance for the help.

CPU (games) oriented usage WILL drain your battery, however 3G / wifi connection should not (unless you use too many updating widgets or bad network / cellular signal).
Changing your anti virus app to a lite one (that still does it job) like bitdefender or 360 mobile security will extend your battery life (and it will help you to enjoy a better experience when using navigation software).
Custom ROMs (like CM 10 and MIUI 3.9.20/27 both 4.1.X) or rooting your device will enable you to run "One Power Guard" application by onexuan and it will reduce your battery power reduction rate on both standby as well as non game usage (make sure CPU regulation max is changed to 1500MHz) - I'm on AI mode with this app.
Some sellers of this model claim using stock 2.3.6 ROM will reduce battery usage - however I doubt it (since battery / power usage by screen is related to screen resolution and not to Android version).
I hope my post helped a bit (however as an owner of this model I'm frustrated as well).

Has anyone tried to install xposed and greenify?
install xposed installer and install
* bootmanager - this will disable most of the app that runs on system startapp (fb, Skype, viber the likes)
* greenify and activate module in xposed - to automatically kill running apps in the background when you close them.

[Troubleshooting] Motorola Assist wakelock

Hello all,
I left my phone fully charged in airplane mode for overnight to check the idle consumption. In the morning I found my phone at 68%, with Assist using up like 80% of that missing.
I already connected Moto with the issue, here is what I tried:
Force stop Assist: after a few minutes it started again and still had the wakelock.
Reboot: still wakelock
Reboot to safe mode: still wakelock
Force stop assist and clear cache and data: still wakelockafter it restarted
Uninstall updates, disable and enable app: new wakelock started in a few secounds and kept on...
For now I have disabled it to see if the consumption is gone, will post more info if I find anything.
My settings in assist:
Meeting, Sleeping, Driving checked in settings
Only the sleeping is used to silence calls from 12-6:30 am with favourites and double callers allowed.
Please share your ideas about possible solutions. I don't need this app too much, but it will be probably more feature packed in the future and I'm also not sure if it really is the root cause of the problem.
The phone is a 1032 UK stock 4.3

it is only visible in the settings here, but not usable

Weird, maybe with KitKat they'll make it fully featured - can't think why they would reduce the functionality for the G
btw don't ever boot to safe mode, it's worse than factory reset. messes up the account management and for example calendar is asking for account, but says that my account can't be added again...

Hi,
noticed something similar just yesterday - Motorola Assist suddenly appeared in the battery overview and most likely refused to work properly at the same time. I have configured sleeping mode to have the phone silenced from 2300h - 0600h, yet Assist did not seem to manage to silence the phone at all. Before that, the app used to work flawlessly.
Best wishes,
Karsten

Thanks for your feedback, one of my friends had the same experience as yours, so this issue definitely exists on more devices.

I have the same issue yesterday. But I checked this morning and assist seems working. Can anyone verify this?
Yeah I had something similar. Assist was working OK for a couple of days, then yesterday I charged my phone in the morning. Didn't touch it at all till the evening, when I noticed the battery is at ~60-70%. Moto Assist got ~85% of that, even though I've only had the "Sleeping" module active and it was daytime.
Hm, coincidence? Or some weird interference with New Year's Eve? In fact it seems all occurrences of this issue were reported just yesterday... - Well, I'm curious about how it'll behave today.
Best wishes,
Karsten
I'll add to this, mine too refused to work last night, wonder if it will tonight or not, clearly something wrong if we're all having this issue. (UK Tesco 16GB)
I had something similar yesterday. (Stock UK Tesco ROM, 16 GB.)
Annnnd today its working fine, must be a end of year bug someone should tell Motorola

Battery drain after using gps

Hello all,
I have this strange issue: if I'm using the phone normaly with data conection, wifi always on etc, when the screen is off and the phone is in deep sleep in consums like a 1-5 mA ( 10 min scale). The problem cames when I use google maps GPS navigation, after I turn the apk off , turn the gps off etc, it consumes in stand by/deepsleep, 30-40mA ... if reboot the phone returns to normaly 1-5mA ,,, how can I fix this thing because I don't whant to restart my phone after every time I use navigation.
KK 4.4.2
Nobody has this problem? nobody has the solution?
This seems to be a bug for some 4.3 and early 4.4.2 users. Please refer to my other postings on this forum where I explain that the recently released 4.4.2 (175.44.1.en-DE) system version fixes the problem. (posting is called: "Just got OTA 4.4.2 (was 4.3): seems to have fixed it")
Let us know if you get this update and it fixes it for you!

[Completed] [Q] Constant rebooting: i9100 Samsung Galaxy S2 :(

Hi there-
My Galaxy S2 just last night started with some new weird behaviour. I had tried to use it for navigation earlier in the evening and left WiFi and GPS on accidentally... an hour or so later the phone was running hot and started rebooting (has never been super-stable, so I wasn't too concerned) - charging overnight and now the phone insists on rebooting after about 1-2 minutes.
Have rebooted into SAFE MODE, and things are relatively ok, until I open the SETTINGS> APPLICATION MANAGER... which triggers a crash/reboot almost immediately.
I've not installed any new apps for some time (nor bothered with any regular virus scanning) - and am not sure what's up with my phone.
I'd really like to avoid having to re-flash/factory reset... as getting one's phone back to "normal" can take months!
Any helpful input would be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance!!! =)
Running Android 4.3.3 JellySNAP ROm, Kernel version: 3.0.101-Apolo_4.13_Regular-gf40153f

Maybe found the culprit? How to remove it? :/
Just in case anyone actually cares, I may have found some useful info...
Facebook Messenger has been very resource hungry and unstable... In my culling of apps I'm noticing it is the most resistant to being uninstalled. No matter how I find the app (in Rom Toolbox, App manager etc) - it won't let me kill it fully.
Attempting an uninstall of Messenger triggers an immediate crash/reboot.
How can I completely obliterate it?

I managed to "freeze" messenger with a lot of luck... though I can't remove it. Phone is kind-of ok... unless I open the Application Manager.
Seems Messenger doesn't want me even looking at it! (Instant reboot)
Any ideas how to remove this awful program?

Networks disconnect with work profiles :@

Hi all,
I have searched for any past references to this issue quite a bit but found nothing in here so thought I would ask. Maybe my searching skills are not good
Whenever an app that requires aGPS starts, both my sims and my wifi disconnect and reconnect in a continuous loop. This has started happening since I factory reset my phone and then installed my company's work profile in the summer. I had a look on the OnePlus forums and it's a known issue since the beginning of the year but OP have done nothing about it. I need my work profile because of course I work a lot from my phone and even though a recommended fix is to switch off location services so that this doesn't happen, location for me is a very important function on my phone.
Does anybody know of any solution to this that I couldn't find? Am I going to have to go the route of a custom ROM to address this? I haven't had a phone with a custom ROM since my XDA IIs so really don't want to do this
Thank you in advance!
nobody? . . .
