I know you asked this years ago but if you're still around did you ever get this resolved? It's driving me bonkers.

I don't know how you can tell a post is read. Posts are not like emails, where you have to open them to read them. I think the closest you can get is thread level.
I set my preference to show newest post first and then subscribe to the thread requesting notification. That way i get a notice i can follow right to the latest post in the thread, or i can go to the latest post when i open that thread.
That may be as close as you're going to be able to get.
To set preferences, if you go to "Control Panel" under your user name (top right), click on "Edit Options" on the left side and roll down to "Thread Display Options" you can select how you want threads displayed. You can go here to see what the choices mean.
Not having the latest post first isn't too bad on the desktop on a 30" monitor, where it bothers me is in the XDA app and these settings keep the current posts first. That wasn't working for me on the settings in the app.

Thanks a million. Unfortunately I've done this is 3 different browsers and it still takes me to the first post instead of the last or "newest" so It's very frustrating. I am on a 27" iMac and even get the same thing in windows so it's got to be something with my account but my subscriptions are set to newest first and I even reset browsers and changed the theme of XDA and it's STILL not working. What's ironic is that the XDA and Tapatalk apps work perfect for me whereas you stated they don't for you so we have just the opposite issues. Lol. It's driving me mad lol
Thanks for the reply. I'm going to create a new account as a test and see if that does anything. I'll report back. +1

It could be 2 things
1. It could be missing if they are working on the forum database, and should reapear.
2. The thread could have been deteated my a Mod, for any number of reasons.
How do I do this?
Trying to find a thread I started. Even when I do a search under my username it only comes back with one reply I made a couple of days ago.
In your profile, statistics tab, you can find a link to all your posts.
Or at home, general tab, you can select participated tab which will list all the threads you have ever posted on.

Thanks.
I think they must've all been deleted as it shows just this one & the one I mentioned.
A shame, someone replied to a question which I've just found the time to try. Now I can't find the thread

I mostly use google to search in forums, cause the built in searchers suck badly. Try using google: arb76 site:forum.xda-developers.com
hi i always have problems in internet because of my traveling, thats why i always download custom roms whenever i get a chance and also it's first page of thread for any info i might need when i install that rom.
but i found that sometimes solutions to problems are found if you read full thread, so i got this idea of why not download a full thread for later use specially if i can in pdf format.
i searched google for it, there are many old questions of this kind but no i couldn't find any solutions.
i found httrack, it looks good but its far too complicated for a user like me, can anyone have a look at httrack and tell me how can i use it on xda?
or if there is any special software for xda which can download whole thread with images please?
any help would be appreciated,
no one?
I am looking for the same answer. I want to be respectful before just posting a question but some threads have 30-80 pages and there is always refer back to some other prior posts so I have not found a good way to catch up on a thread. I have tried reading from the end and going back 3-6 pages but I suspect there is something along the way in pages 20, or 38 or 43 that is relevant. If there is no solution, then newbies end up posting at the end of thread with what others view as lazy and not reading the thread. How in the heck do you download the thread so I can do a faster read?
{Mod edit: Quoted post has been deleted}
no, thats not what i am trying to achieve, i want a full thread to be downloaded, like with all pages it have, so i can read offline all the pages. i can't save as every page if a thread has hundreds of pages. so it's not practical.
but thanks for you input. i would wait for someone who might know a way...
I'm also looking for a solution...

Not possible that I know of and I've used this forum for years.
You can try asking here.

To be honest, I doubt XDA itself will want this kind of function to be availble because it is funded by various ads, ads that can only be seen and only generate funds when actively online.

We'll see what they have to say..
This was the reply I got :

I think what user wants is... getting an XML with all post texts including poster name/info (though it means attachments cannot get) as in when trying to extract all PMs from XDA site as an XML file.
That would be very long and huge size on 2000-10000 paged threads (even with 10 posts per page). But that could be very practical if possible

I understand but unfortunately it's not possible. The best way is to change settings to show 50 posts per page and use Chrome (or similar) to "print" and "save as" pdf :good:

Try loading the page, then right click in the page then choose the "select all" option to highlight all the text on the page, then copy the text, then create a new text file, then paste the copied text in the file, you'll have to do this with each page of the thread.
Or, you can use screen record and scroll through the pages and posts while recording.

Guess they never came up with a solution...
Hi, I used to be able to capture (Screen Shot) a page I was on, and it also grabbed the Web Site address I got it from and attached it into a Text or Forum Post I would be posting or using. I didn't download any particular app to do this, it was something that was Stock. I can't seem to find this feature anymore for some reason. This feature might not be suitable to most, but for me, at certain times, it was very beneficial. Does anyone know of the setting or app that did this?
I was not rooted when I did this, nor am I now.
Samsung Galaxy S8+ for AT&T
EDIT: I searched for days for my answer, only After I posted this post, I was able to find my answer. It's the Android Operating System Screenshot tool But for anyone else that wants this feature, you need to open up Google Search & go to your Google Settings, Then go to General, then down to Edit & Share Screenshots.
