New threads not being posted - General Topics

I'm trying to figure out an issue for my kindle fire. I posted a new thread from my laptop and its not showing up anywhere in the forum. I get no error messages and I even have a url for the thread but just not showing up. Any thoughts?

It could be 2 things
1. It could be missing if they are working on the forum database, and should reapear.
2. The thread could have been deteated my a Mod, for any number of reasons.

[Q] Thread creation

I can't seem to create threads? Not here note other sites. Also this includes new posts. Also having lots or errors with the xda app for android it won't let me login sometimes nor post.
And web errors occur a fair bit when trying to view pages.
Mainly with threads the blue bar moves about 1.5cm then stops.
Any ideas? (sent from trusty speedy iPhone)

This is just random bits in the ether. Strange,, i can't reply to threads???
There are some post count restrictions in some forums, but you seem to be past that.
I'd say check that you are actually logged in when you surf.
tthat was creating a thread with my iPhone not transformer

[Q] 10 post rule

So, The search function/ability has gone missing or has it just been moved with this new rule?
Thanks!

i dont know why...
^ So you do not have a search function on your screen either?
I understand limiting posts in development ares but being search-less makes for a lot of duplicate posts
I have found this:

You mean thread search or general?

I have no thread search or general search. I am of course logged in but the "buttons" are not on my screen. Is it just my account? Thought this might have something to do with low post count(<10) accounts
There was a post about this in the general section - it was down for maintenance, and was for about 9 hours. It's back up now so you should be able to see it.
Is it already back up? Not yet for me. Because I understand spam posts but restricting search is kind of weird when you want newbies to search before they even try to post.
edit: Sorry, refreshing cache worked.
edit2: Oh gosh, the restrictions are terrible. -.-
No search still, ran crap cleaner, running firefox 9.0.1. Is there a specific area to clear cache that cc wont get?
Thanks!
After the last post I made the search is back on!
Crap cleaner worked.
Thanks for all the responses and help

[Q] find & list all my posts in xda

How do I do this?
Trying to find a thread I started. Even when I do a search under my username it only comes back with one reply I made a couple of days ago.
In your profile, statistics tab, you can find a link to all your posts.
Or at home, general tab, you can select participated tab which will list all the threads you have ever posted on.

Thanks.
I think they must've all been deleted as it shows just this one & the one I mentioned.
A shame, someone replied to a question which I've just found the time to try. Now I can't find the thread

I mostly use google to search in forums, cause the built in searchers suck badly. Try using google: arb76 site:forum.xda-developers.com

[Completed] Error message on editing post

When I try to update a post or post something I keep getting this error that's shown below but when I close whatever browser I'm using I've tried several and they all day the same and then reopen it and go to the thread my changes were made
So what I'm wondering is it on my side or xdas for the error
Now on my computer I just get taken to the blank page

So it doesn't happen when submitting a new thread it seems to be only when I edit a post
Confirmed only when I edit the edit goes thru but I get this error page instead of being taken back to the post as normal, but like I said the edit goes thru
Also if I hit reload just a blank page with XDA on top comes up
The site was having issues, but seems ok at the moment.
Also, a member who's as experienced as yourself should know to read the stickers, like this one that explains the purpose of Assist, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2764768
Xda Assist is here to help new members navigate the site, that's all. :good:
I'll close this thread now.
Thanks!

how to download a full thread in any forum for offline reading ?

hi i always have problems in internet because of my traveling, thats why i always download custom roms whenever i get a chance and also it's first page of thread for any info i might need when i install that rom.
but i found that sometimes solutions to problems are found if you read full thread, so i got this idea of why not download a full thread for later use specially if i can in pdf format.
i searched google for it, there are many old questions of this kind but no i couldn't find any solutions.
i found httrack, it looks good but its far too complicated for a user like me, can anyone have a look at httrack and tell me how can i use it on xda?
or if there is any special software for xda which can download whole thread with images please?
any help would be appreciated,
no one?
I am looking for the same answer. I want to be respectful before just posting a question but some threads have 30-80 pages and there is always refer back to some other prior posts so I have not found a good way to catch up on a thread. I have tried reading from the end and going back 3-6 pages but I suspect there is something along the way in pages 20, or 38 or 43 that is relevant. If there is no solution, then newbies end up posting at the end of thread with what others view as lazy and not reading the thread. How in the heck do you download the thread so I can do a faster read?
{Mod edit: Quoted post has been deleted}
no, thats not what i am trying to achieve, i want a full thread to be downloaded, like with all pages it have, so i can read offline all the pages. i can't save as every page if a thread has hundreds of pages. so it's not practical.
but thanks for you input. i would wait for someone who might know a way...
I'm also looking for a solution...

To be honest, I doubt XDA itself will want this kind of function to be availble because it is funded by various ads, ads that can only be seen and only generate funds when actively online.

We'll see what they have to say..
This was the reply I got :

I think what user wants is... getting an XML with all post texts including poster name/info (though it means attachments cannot get) as in when trying to extract all PMs from XDA site as an XML file.
That would be very long and huge size on 2000-10000 paged threads (even with 10 posts per page). But that could be very practical if possible

I understand but unfortunately it's not possible. The best way is to change settings to show 50 posts per page and use Chrome (or similar) to "print" and "save as" pdf :good:

Try loading the page, then right click in the page then choose the "select all" option to highlight all the text on the page, then copy the text, then create a new text file, then paste the copied text in the file, you'll have to do this with each page of the thread.
Or, you can use screen record and scroll through the pages and posts while recording.
