Why does it take so long to add an app on my home-screen? Is it just my phone or has anyone else experienced this?
ADW takes about three minutes to add an app to my home-screen versus Sense which does it instantaneously. It gets faster but not all the time.
I'd like to keep using ADW but this makes it difficult.
Launcher PRO does it too.

Something on your end is wrong. It's nearly instant on my end.

When I used adw it lagged for me too.but launcher pro doesn't... Which rom are you running? Maybe compatibility?

Well this is embarrassing. I was applying icons incorrectly. ADW and Launcher Pro both work great when I "long-press" the app icon inside the drawer and slide it onto the home page.
Thanks for your help.

yeh i ran into the same thing
took waaaaaaaaaaaaaay long to add an applicatooin
it wasnt until i used launcherpro that i learned you can just long press on a app and then add it to a homescreen (because it still lags a bit if you try the old fashion way of adding an app to the homescreen, not as nearly as long as ADW did tho)
default settings on adw are also goofy. i applied a theme to it through it's native settings and my response issues went away.
that being said, i've switched to launcherpro.
That lag is one of the reasons I stopped using ADW. Hated Launcher Pro too, sticking with Sense.
ADW works great on CyanogenMod6. Got FC's in both ADW and Launcherpro on stock 2.1.
But then again, everything works better now that sense is gone.

I move some icons to the main screen and have some just go away and have to move them back again. Don't know if anyone else has had this issue.
First I've heard of that. Try using a different launcher. Nova and Apex are the two other native ICS launchers.

Since upgrading to fp1 I have been unable to set multi screen wallpaper. Is this something that was removed and how do I get the feature back?

Yes it was removed, but I do not know how to get it back.

It's a feature of every third-party app launcher I've used. I've used Go Launcher EX for months, and I didn't realize that Samsung took it out of TouchWiz.
I just downloaded go launcher and still cant set multi screen wallpaper. What is going on?
Edit: i can set a portriat image...what about landscape like old touchwiz setting?

I've tried a few of the launchers and ended up going back to touchwiz to get the stock notification number overlay on icons such as email and messaging. I now miss setting multi-home screen wallpaper and watching it scroll as the homepages move.
Since Samsung removed it from the latest version of touchwiz can i get it back by loading an older version of the apk from an older version of the firmwear... Say ep4d?

How can i set the center screen as default when i press the home button?
Sent from my XT897 using xda premium
You can't with the default launcher unfortunately (unless someone 'fixes' that in a custom ROM down the road). But you can get a 3rd party launcher and do it.
Such as? I hate adw and am not sure about go launcher ex performance on this device, wish i could use go launchers tablet version as it is set up in a very convenient way as i always use this device sideways

I think the two I hear the most about with 4.0+ are Nova and Apex.
+1 on Nova.
I used that on my G2 and my N7. Havent tried with my new PQ since I'm not sure if the fancy icon swipe feature will still work.
Hmmm nova... my old photon had nova on it with cone name android rom.

I've been using the new Total Launcher from the guy that made sslauncher.
It's in beta still but it's updated all the time and is the most customizable launcher I have tried and I have tried them all.
Worth a look
screenshots?
How does it compare to Nova?
I tried it and came back to apex. I really don't see how you could get any more customizable than nova or apex....unless I missed something.

Buzz launcher
Not to hijack your thread, but I've been using the Dodol launcher and it has been working great. The two things I like most are the ability to change the grid size and the icon size.

I used Nova for like forever switched to Action Launcher and I use Muzei live wallpaper with HD space wallpapers (also Action Launcher Plus) and some nice retro icons!
my phone never looked so nice
I like "Next Launcher". Just a better Launcher with a hell of a lot of possibility's.
I tried Total based on this, and it is pretty amazing. Definitely might be the most customizable I've used, up there with Lightning or something. If anything that's the fault, it's overwhelming. It makes sense though it's well thought out, just daunting.
