I move some icons to the main screen and have some just go away and have to move them back again. Don't know if anyone else has had this issue.
First I've heard of that. Try using a different launcher. Nova and Apex are the two other native ICS launchers.

Why does it take so long to add an app on my home-screen? Is it just my phone or has anyone else experienced this?
ADW takes about three minutes to add an app to my home-screen versus Sense which does it instantaneously. It gets faster but not all the time.
I'd like to keep using ADW but this makes it difficult.
Launcher PRO does it too.

Something on your end is wrong. It's nearly instant on my end.

When I used adw it lagged for me too.but launcher pro doesn't... Which rom are you running? Maybe compatibility?

Well this is embarrassing. I was applying icons incorrectly. ADW and Launcher Pro both work great when I "long-press" the app icon inside the drawer and slide it onto the home page.
Thanks for your help.

yeh i ran into the same thing
took waaaaaaaaaaaaaay long to add an applicatooin
it wasnt until i used launcherpro that i learned you can just long press on a app and then add it to a homescreen (because it still lags a bit if you try the old fashion way of adding an app to the homescreen, not as nearly as long as ADW did tho)
default settings on adw are also goofy. i applied a theme to it through it's native settings and my response issues went away.
that being said, i've switched to launcherpro.
That lag is one of the reasons I stopped using ADW. Hated Launcher Pro too, sticking with Sense.
ADW works great on CyanogenMod6. Got FC's in both ADW and Launcherpro on stock 2.1.
But then again, everything works better now that sense is gone.

Ok so this a pretty trivial and probably dumb question, but it's bugging me so I'd like to ask it anyways. I just recently flashed gtg's infused v2.1 gingerbread rom, and the wallpaper shows up on the lockscreen and home screen but is not visible in the background of the app page. Even more recently I flashed gtg's infused v1.6 and have the same problem. This is different than the screenshots I have seen on the forum with the wallpaper also visible on the app page. Is it supposed to work this way or can this be fixed with some setting on the phone. Sorry I'm new to this.
Thanks for putting up with a noob.

Dig around in your launcher settings or switch to a different launcher. I use Go Launcher EX and it has options for app drawer backgrounds.
Same thing happens to me but opposite. Lol, it shows up in home screen but not lockscreen and idk what to do about it lol it gets annoying

Yea it was really annoying lol but I just switched to Go Launcher Ex and it works!

How can i set the center screen as default when i press the home button?
Sent from my XT897 using xda premium
You can't with the default launcher unfortunately (unless someone 'fixes' that in a custom ROM down the road). But you can get a 3rd party launcher and do it.
Such as? I hate adw and am not sure about go launcher ex performance on this device, wish i could use go launchers tablet version as it is set up in a very convenient way as i always use this device sideways

I think the two I hear the most about with 4.0+ are Nova and Apex.
+1 on Nova.
I used that on my G2 and my N7. Havent tried with my new PQ since I'm not sure if the fancy icon swipe feature will still work.
Hmmm nova... my old photon had nova on it with cone name android rom.

I bricked my phone last week because I used 990 software...oops. I got it all working and in the end I now have CM7 on here.
There is only one feature I really truly miss from my old phone (it was JB I think...) and that is being able to stack icons on the desktop/homescreen. It's why I tried to upgrade this phone in the first place. Are there any apps that imitate this feature which work on our phone?
You mean make folders on the home screen with more than one app in them? That's more of a launcher thing. Try Holo Launcher. That's a good one with a ICS/JB feel that supports folders.

As you see one back ground is more zoomed in
