[Q] ViperS JB 3.1.4 - stuck on htc white screen - HTC Sensation

Hi
Noob problem
HTC sensation XE
I had ViperS 3.1.2 and then updated via OTA to ViperS 3.1.3 and at last ViperS 3.1.4 (also via OTA). After that I got stuck on htc white screen.
I can go into recovery with 4ext and followed the steps form here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2082978
1.Boot into Recovery
3.Wipe data/factory reset(Format /system,/cache,/data,etc)
4.Wipe Dalvik & Cache
[enable smart-flash before flashing] FOR S-ON users ONLY
5.Flash ROM [VIPERS JB ROM]
6.DONE
I have tried it with ViperS 3.1.2 (full rom) and ViperS 3.1.4 (full rom) and after I always get stuck on htc white screen.
Attached I posted the logs from ViperS 3.1.2 (full rom) and ViperS 3.1.4 (full rom) instalation
Since this is my 1st post, I'm unable to post it on the correct topic - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2216858
Every time I go into recovery mode with 4ext after installing the rom i get the message "4ext smartflash is currently set to update boot partition on next system start"
So apparently I have a problem on boot partition, because the update is never done.
Does anyone have an idea on to fix this?
I hope I'm not infringing any rules to post this question here.

Just to add some more info
I tried to restore a backup that I made, and still I get stuck on htc white screen.
I also tried to install ViperS 5.0.0 JB from here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2531054 - and stillI get stuck on htc white screen.
Don't really now what else to try

try this
format all partiotins except sdcard
enable smartflash
flash the rom
if it fails then flash the boot.img of the rom via fastboot command
the command is fastboot flash boot boot.img

Thanks for your reply

And this solved the issue, I had already seen it in this post - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37229807&postcount=2 - before your reply.
I'm now putting ViperS 3.1.4 (full rom), because when I could start the phone it had the ViperS 5.0.0 JB (to many tries to fix the phone) and after a phew minutes I got to the conclusion that I prefer version 3.1.4

Fallout Rom: Wifi doesn't work

I'm new at all the rooting and stuff, but I managed to root my phone and install the primo-S Rom.
Everything worked, just by following all the links on this forum (thx for that).
But I wanted to install Fallout rom to see the difference between Primo-S and Fallout, but after the installation of Fallout,
I don't have Wifi. At the first setup, the Wifi is on, but keeps on searching for Wifi-connections, and it stays that way.
So I installed Primo-S again, and it worked fine again.
Somebody knows what the cause could be, do other users have this problem too with Fallout Rom?
Sorry to post this here, but I can't report this bug in the Fallout-section, since I don't have 10 posts yet. (maybe I should start spamming )
Did you flash boot from fallout?
Sywepd form my DsereiS
Try downloading fallout again or checking md5 of the .zip, i have this romand everything is fine
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda app-developers app
Ok, so I tried it again:
I use revolutionary recovery.
First Wipe data/Factory reset
Then Wipe dalvic cache.
Then install the fall-out Rom v4.3.
When the phone reboots, I go through the initial set-up.
Then to 'Settings' - "Wifi", but the status says 'Fault'.
I can't change it to 'ON'.
Like I said before, did you separately flash the fallout boot through fast boot?
Sywepd form my DsereiS
I didn't understand at first what you meant with that.
But I suddenly remembered I did this for the Primo-S Rom also.
So I extracted the boot.img from the zip-file, flashed it with fastboot, and now it seems to work
thx for the help.

I use CWM 5.0.2.0
I already read several post but i didn't find what to do.
I need help to revive my phone in any state (rooted, stock, any android version)
Sorry for bad english
boot.img?
I'm a noob, i don't know what is it or were can i find this...
Edit :
You mean i must try to flash boot.img from my backup ?
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Google it, don't ask me anything - I'm tired of answering the same all over again. Such a basic thing, and every week there's yet another noob that doesn't read.

Being 'A Noob' is no excuse for the failure/refusal of you and so many others to follow the Forum Rules - starting with;-
1. Search before posting.
Use one of our search functions before posting, whether you have a question or something new to share, it's very likely someone already asked that question or shared that news.

This is why people start to get fed up - at least a hundred people before you have asked the same question because they also failed to search or read before doing something.
.
GO into your recovery and wipe data, cache, dalvik cache and battery stats for best performance. Now flash ViperSAGA v1.0.0 then once that's installed you can flash v1.1.0 over it.
The reason why it stopped working is because v1.1.0 relies on all the apps and framework in v1.0.0 so it doesn't have many apps and just contains updates etc.
I hope this helped you. If it did, please click the thanks button!
Thanks for all your replies
I tried all you said :
-flash (fastboot) boot.img, reboot
or
-wipe data,cache... flash viperSAGA v1.0.0, flash viperSAGA v1.1.0, reboot
Nothing worked

Flashing the boot.img via fastboot should've helped.
Make sure you flashed the correct file, the one that is included in the zip file.
If the problem persists you could try other ROMs (I've been using CM10.1 by Flinny) or run ICS RUU.

Sensation XE freezes after new ROM

I have rooted my HTC Sensation XE.
Then I have tried to install [ROM] Revelation 1.0.1 | JB | Sense 4+ and [ROM][JB][Sense 4+][07.07] Team Venom 3.1.1.
But when the phone reboots it freezes when showing the HTC logo.
1. I press "down volume" and START
2. Recovery
3. Wipe data/factory reset
4. Advanced Wipe Dalvik cache
5. Wipe cache partition
6. Install zip from sdcard / Choose zip from sdcard/Revelation_1.0.0.zip - Yes, install
7. Clean install (Sensation XE)
Any ideas what can cause this?

You need to install 4EXT recovery. Enable smartflash (tools>enable smartflash). After that, you need to flash the boot.IMG of the ROM manually via adb.

Don't take me the wrong way, but this is a very common issue.
Take the time to Google and Search first!!!
You just need the proper boot.img.
Either flash it using fastboot, or use 4ext SmartFlash!!!

Thanks for the reply.
I used 4ext SmartFlash and got the ViperS installed. But then I got problem creating Exchange and Hotmail accounts, I also had repeted questions about accessing facebook with Sense.
Therefor I installed Revelation 1.0.0 instead.
Installation was fine, but I had a message telling that there was one update pending. It also gave information that I had to set S-OFF.
Now the phone just reboot when the HTC logo shows.
It doesn't help to restore the old working installation.
The smartflash is enabled in 4Ext, even if I disable smartflash, when I reboot and go to recovery and 4Ext, the smartflash is enabled...
Try flashing boot.img manually.
Extract boot.img from your current rom's zip.
Then put your phone in fastboot, mode and type:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
You may want to backup if you have data that you need to save.
Jam that thanks button.
Thanks, I will try that!

By the way, should the Sensation XE be in S-OFF or S-ON for ViperS and Revelation?

ANY ROM can be flashed S-ON (based on your current firmware, of course). The above roms are based on 3.32/3.33. If you upgraded to ICS via HTC OTA, you're good to go S-ON.
You do need to enable 4ext SmartFlash if you're flashing S-ON though (or flash the boot partition manually).

If I run: fastboot flash boot boot.img and then install the zip file. It works with ViperS 3.1.1. But it's not posible to add a Exchange account/Hotmail.
Anyone have a fix for this?
It's also possible to install Revelation 1.0.0, but I get a error message about pending update when installing the update 1.0.1... - but i am fine with ViperS if I can have the Exchange account working. I had the sam error in Revelation 1.0.0.

Thanks for the reply.
So the workarround is to install 3.0.0 and then backup the accounts, and then install 3.1.1 and restore the accounts.
How about adding accounts later?
I have also found a bug with background syncronisation with Facebook: I get a constant message that ask me to activate background syncronisation. And it comes back when choosing "Yes".
Is it only me that have these issues, if so, what's special with my installation/phone?

man decrease the font size ..i get the point and solution is pretty simple for you
first relock the bootloader
to do that ...connect the phone from bootloader to pc ..(if properly connected phone should say FASTBOOT USB ..if its saying HBOOT ..press power button once )
then open command prompt from your adb/fastboot folder (i think you already have this folder ..if you did UNLOCK of bootloader ..generally on C:/Androidsdk/tools )
then type this command ..
fastboot oem lock
once that is done
go to firmware thread
link here
get the 3.33 universal firmware ...copy it to top of your sdcard (i mean to sdcard/ use a card reader to do this )
and flash it (flashing instructions in the same thread)
then install any ICS/JB ROM it should work

Android Revolution HD 7.3 problem.

Hello.
I've got problem with installing ROM Android Revolution HD 7.3. I bought Sensation, it's rooted, S-OFF, bootloader is unlocked, 4EXT Recovery Touch, I've flashed Universal Firmware 3.33. I done wipe data and wipe cache, flashed ROM but after reebot it's stuck on Beats logo. Nothings happened. I also tried do full wipe by superwipe script for Sensation, but that doesn't help. It still stucks on Beats logo. I aslo tried to flash boot.img via flashboot and cmd command. I unziped ROM file, found boot.img file for kernel which I want to install (faux) and flash it via fastboot. Then install ROM via installer included into ROM. After that it doesn't work either.
Can someone help me? I manage to flash different ROM: CM11 with ION and 3.0 kernel by Sultan, but i want to try Android Revolution HD. Maybe my battery will live longer
I appreciate any help.
how long did you wait on beats audio logo? because first boot up takes time
Couple of minutes. No longer then 10, for sure. You think I should wait longer?

Ok. Maybe someone else have a solution.
By the way, I see you've got a ViperS 5.1.0 ROM. Could you tell me how it's works? Especially the battery lifespan.

For me is great , but you have to try it yourself
for ARHD 7.3 ROM if it has in aroma installer to choose a kernel try with the stock one and see if it boots
make a full wipe from recovery before flashing the rom
I've already tried every one of 3 included. But I will try do it again now and wait for longer on Beats logo.

[q] htc logo & the bootloop

Hi,
So, my htc explorer have a few problems:
- It's either stuck on the very first htc logo or in bootloop.
-For stock rom {htc_pico_stock_1.43.720.2} & CM9 rom {cm-9-20130304-UNOFFICIAL-pico}......Its stuck in the bootloop.
-For stock rom both {Htc_Explorer_AsiaIndia_stock} & {1.12 or may 1.14}........ Its stuck on the htc logo.
-I have tried both twrp and cwm, none works. Currently I have twrp.
-I can get into the bootloader and then into recovery and can easily flash roms ( which actually don't work )
Any expert bro here that can help me get the phone back to life. Please help out.

I'am trying to change the stock 2.3.5 ROM to something more optimized, and stuck with the problem, that device is going to "hang" with almost any ROM After flashing and reboot there is a HTC logo and nothing more happens (I've even waited for 7 hours). The only ROM, that was able to boot for now is the HTC Sense 4.0 Lite Build#14
The device was complettely stock from the manufacturer. What I've already did:
1. Got the boot unlock .bin via htcdev and flashed it via fastboot.exe utility.
2. Flashed CWM 6.0.2.8 for Pico, but it doesn't work - after choosing the "recovery" option in boot menu, I see an HTC logo for a few seconds, then screen goes off. So, I've flashed v5 - it works, but can't install some of Cyanogen-based ROMs with the Status 7 Error.
3. Flashed TWRP 2.8.7.0 for Pico. The installation process of Cyanogen-based ROMs is now OK, but phone is not booting (stuck with HTC logo for infinite, or have a bootloop).
4. Tried the superwipe, mentioned in this thread, in various modes (install superwipe, than flash the ROM; install superwipe, reboot recovery, than flash the ROM, etc.), but no result
5. Partitioned SD-card with 1Gb of Ext3 partition + 64Mb swap (via TWRP function).
What I've missed or doing wrong?..
P.S. Sorry for errors, if there are ones, English - it's not my native language...
Mr. Snake0437,
Use superwipe and flash stock htc 1.43 version rom, only this one works using twrp. Well i haven't tried Philz recovery, use it, it might work and if it did do tell me. Best of luck
