As title ;
I've managed to use the wvdial to dial to the 3G network successfully.
(wvdial is shiped from Botbrew-basil)
The ssh connection , telnet , even the w3m in terminal emulator are working properly.
"ifconfig" shows that ppp0 is up and everything seems to be well-settled.
But unfortunately ...... the system status bar said that "there is no available connection" .
And all the browsers and other applications in GUI failed to connect to the Internet.
So......
Is there anyway to tell the android system that "Hey ! The connection is available !!! " ?
Command line solutions are Okay for me , too.
P.S.PPP widget is not suitable for me because its behavior.
(I'll explain in device background.)
=============================
device background :
I flashed my ASUS TF101g from its stock ROM (Honeycomb)
to the REVOLVER 4 ROM (ICS) , which is available from this thread.
Most of things works fine except that 3G seemed not to be detected by the system.
APN settings and any config toward Mobile Network is not responding.
PPP widget is a solution provided and it works well.
However , my tab also plays a role as an access point for my laptops .
After dialing , PPP widget will "wrap" the connection to be "WIFI",
and the hot-spot sharing function will be forced to shutdown by the system immediately.
The wifi card just cannot serve others while it's acting as a client ......

Just got one of these today, actually. I looked up and down that board, but didn't find any info on enabling telnet. You have a link handy?
My IDEOS touchscreen is dead (just a thin row above soft keys works).
It has been wiped so I can not access any apps using cursor keys etc. because I can not touch android character to get past first screen.
It is rooted (not sure how I did this) and fitted with ClockworkMod Recovery 3.0.2.4.
To get a bit further I'd like to use screencast or something like that to remote control over USB cable to finish setup.
My final aim is to use phone to collect solar panel data and upload to pvoutput.org
1. How can I finish setup without touchscreen?
2. How can I enable USB debugging so I can access phone without booting into recovery?
3. Is there any *#*#xxx#*#* codes that might be helpful?
Answer for 1 & 2
My answers so far...
1. Yes!
2. I installed CM7 which has USB Debugging enabled.
3. Not sure
Now, for 1. I had to use adb to send touch and key and text events.
Here is my code that gets you a long way in.
Code:
#!/bin/bash
adb_sendevent(){
local -i _a=$1 _k=$2 _v=$3
printf "$FUNCNAME: _a=%d _k=%d _v=%d\n" $_a $_k $_v
adb shell sendevent "/dev/input/event2" $_a $_k $_v
}
adb_touch1(){
local -i _a=$1 _x=$2 _y=$3 _w=$4
#printf "$FUNCNAME: _a=%d _x=%d _y=%d _w=%d\n" $_a $_x $_y $_w
# send touch event x y
adb_sendevent 3 0x39 $_a # start event?
adb_sendevent 3 0x35 $_x
adb_sendevent 3 0x36 $_y
adb_sendevent 3 0x30 $_w # finger width?
adb_sendevent 3 0x31 0 # x moved?
adb_sendevent 3 0x34 0
adb_sendevent 3 0x32 0 # y moved?
adb_sendevent 0 0x02 0 # end event?
}
adb_touch(){
local -i _x=$1 _y=$2 _w=$3
#adb_sendevent 0 0 0
adb_touch1 0 $_x $_y $_w
adb_touch1 1 0 0x15b 0
adb_sendevent 0 0 0
}

Hi there!
I've seen many articles and YouTube videos about installing different kinds of Linux on Android phones. I've been trying for 2 days now to get it working but even though I've tried many different apps, settings, I end up having the same issue.
I downloaded the Linux Deploy app from play store, installed busybox (Stephen/meefik/JRummy) from play store, downloaded VNC viewer too.
I opened the Linux Deploy, tried with many different settings, including only changing Distribution to Kali-Linux, changing architectures, installation path, file system, and desktop environment.
Most of the cases I ended up the Linux Deploy saying everything's fine, VNC running, but when I opened VNC viewer, tried connecting to VNC server under 'localhost', typing in the password 'changeme', I always got only a blank black display with the white square cursor in the middle. I could move the cursor, but no desktop was visible..
Can anyone who feels familiar with these apps help me please?
Thank you!
I am using a Sony xperia z3 (D6603) rooted, UB, RXSW Rom marshmallow edition v4.0, build number 23.5.A.1.151, but also didn't work in simple prerooted 6.0.1.
Screenshots of Linux Deploy settings in the attachment section.
Just let me know if you need any more information!
