Did you already unlock your phone? Please post here the successful method. Does it request an unlock code when you insert other carrier SIM?
Good luck with the unlocking! :fingers-crossed:

I payed unlock.io for an unlocked just some minutes ago...
I'm waiting for the code right now...
I'll tell you how it goes
Supposedly unlock.io was gonna give me the unlock code in less than an hour, but according to them there is some delay with motorola servers and they don't have it yet... I hope they get it soon... I bought the cellphone to unlock it. =)

What happened? I'm waiting to know is this phone is fully unlockable, do you know if you can also unlock it's bootloader?
I got the code after some hours....
I'm not sure if the boot loader is unlockable , though
Well I think a nice screenshot showing new carrier would be fine to close the thread.

It may eventually come to all Moto G phones.
I unlocked my Telcel Moto G using a code from movical dot net.
It was unlocked successfully, i'm using now a sim from Movistar but I can not receive sms and calls from Telcel from around 5pm to 9pm.
This is weird, I can send sms and make calls to all companies (Telcel, Movistar, local phones, etc), I can receive calls from Movistar and from local phones, but I can NOT receive calls from Telcel only from 5pm to 9pm. The rest of the day I can receive calls from Telcel.
I went to 3 Movistar Customer Support Centers and all they said they don't give support to "unlocked" phones.
Any ideas ?

That's really weird... I haven't noticed that but I'm gonna try it today. Have you tested this while using your sim on a different phone? Maybe there is something wrong with your line and not just your phone?

Very few people have this phone right now. The date for in store sales keeps getting pushed back, and even a lot of pre order dates are getting pushed back. Wait till the phone is more widely available so devs can get their hands on it.

Is the phone released officially? Nope. Do most dev's even have it yet? Nope. Do dev's build ROM's overnight with a phone they don't have access to? Nope. Chill out!

Doesn't matter what you "heard" it isn't Verizon that provides the coverage, Asurion does, unless you have it from another source. Verizon has no say in Asurion protecting hardware malfunctions. Verizon may not WARRANTY the device though.

Well as my unfortunate luck has it, I wanted to upgrade my old Nexus 4 to a LG G2 D801 unit. I bought one new-refurbished off ebay and it just arrived recently.
I tried to put in my WIND mobile sim card and realized the phone is not detecting it. After looking into the issue for the majority of the day, it seems that the phone is hard/sim locked.
I went into the area where one would go to unlock the phone, only to be greeted by this unfortunate message.

Now first thing I did was start searching the interwebz....and I can't seem to find much on this.
I am not sure what I can do. The shipping back to China, well that's out of the question due to the high cost.
I can't use the phone as it's a T-Mobile device.
I can't unlock the phone because it's hard locked.
Is there anything I can do to get it working? Does anybody know how I could possibly reset the counter for this?
Thank you in advance.

Hi and thank you for using XDA Assist
Unfortunally the phone is locked and only the T-Mobile carrier can work on it .
It is locked from factory default state. So there is nothing you can do to unlock it (from what i know).

Hello, thanks for the reply. That's unfortunate for me I guess.
Now when you say, it's locked from the factory default state...If I drive down to the states and buy a T-Mobile LG G2 from the store, would that be also hardlocked?
I am trying to send this phone back to China and I know T-Mobile stores still have the LG G2 as certified pre-owned.

Yes if you buy another T-Mobile phone, you will stick on T-Mobile only and you will not have the ability to use other carrier other than T on that phone... But you will still be able to Root and make all those stuff but to change carrier will not be able to.

I am a bit confused. The phone I received, it seems like the SIM code unlock was entered 10 times wrong and thus is why the phone is hard locked to T-mobile now.
If I buy a phone from the T-Mobile store, it will be hardlocked also? I don't understand why it would be, since many people have those phones unlocked?

Unlocked but not "Unlocked" from carrier they still stick with that carrier.
If you are looking for example on the S6 forum you will see that there are separated forums for Verizon, T-Mobile etc... They are separated because the phone is not exactly the same as the international model as the carrier modified it, so a separated development needs to be done for that phone.....
You simply cannot uncarrier (from what i know) only if you took your phone to a professional guy who is super expert and can do it, but from what i know it's impossible to uncarrier a phone.... Better always to get an international one in order to avoid these problems

I think maybe I confused you or myself.
The T-Mobile LG G2 will work on the AWS frequency that I require here in Canada for WIND mobile.
If the phone is locked to T-mobile, I could use a service online, provide them the IMEI and the network the phone came from and then I would be given the unlock code to allow the phone to read a SIM card other then T-Mobile.
Example video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8m4ru062k_M
Notice when he puts in the prompt to get to the network settings, he can put in a PIN. When I tried that, I get the locked message.

Well, as of Jan 22, attunlockcode.com has removed the warning: "Please do not place order for alcatel onetouch idol 3 unlock code. we are receiving wrong code from database." The new price for the unlock code is $15.

I still have not seen a single person say they purchased and used an unlock code from ANYONE that worked. Getting one from cricket is a given but if you entered the wrong code more than 3 times I think, it won't unlock after that without returning to Alcatel for service.

what it is. it's not on the box or sticker on the back
of the phone and the battery is not removable.
this is what they sent me
Hi there,
We require the Provider ID on the back of your Alcatel phone above your IMEI number. It looks like XXXXX-XXXXXX.
For example:
Model: ONE TOUCH 5020T
TCT MOBILE
Made in China
5020T-2ATBUS1-R ⬅︎
013121234512345
*If the phone does not have a removable back or battery, do not disassemble your phone as it may simply be on the sticker on the back
Or
Please type *#837# or *#3228#. Your phone will provide you with a lot of alphanumeric characters
Please type out any lines that start with the letter X.
For example: X325CS87

I have tried two unlock sites too. No luck. I don't think Cricket is "releasing" the unlock codes to the third-parties. I am hoping Cricket will change their mind soon.
found the provider ID but in the end Cellunlocker.net was unable to provide
a code that works. they even had me do a hard reset before trying the code
one last time.
I've provided these same info to the unlockers too. No luck.
My advice to you (and me) is to
1. wait for the "releasing" of these unlock codes, may be in a few months, or
2. sell your phone, or
3. maybe do some "illegal" hacking of IMEI. (not discussed in this forum).
I am leaning option 2.

I have a factory unlocked 6a that I'm wanting to buy, but guy thinks it may/may not have a lock put on from a carrier. Not sure if he means a financial lock or what. I'm needing it to be clean on both VZW and TMO, but honestly don't care if it has a lock on ATT (no signal here). I've ran dozen of the free imei ones, but since not of them tap into the gsma database, it's not real data. Anyone here able/willing to run a quick check for an old soul? I can pm the imei privately.
If you haven't already done so, you could try this for Verizon:
IMEI Information
Or this for TMO:
https://www.t-mobile.com/resources/bring-your-own-phone
Thanks I have already. Verizon seems to be only a basic band check, nothing deeper. T-Mobile does though appear to dive deeper with this message. Just trying to get clarification. Doesn't help that my OCD won't let this go ha

How can it be factory unlocked but also locked by a carrier?
Either you bought it from a carrier or didn't.

I'm assuming it's a financial lock. But I have no way to find out.
Well, if the guy isn't sure, that kind of sounds like you should buy from someone else.
Swappa has pretty good deals on this phone already.
Yeah maybe so. Trying to make a good deal work ha. So is it definitive that A12 Dec and newer patches have broken the temporary carrier unlock pixel 6 trick?
You can check the IMEI through Swappa's IMEI checker, it does check it against the GSMA registry.
Alternatively you can buy a 6a off of Swappa and not have to worry about it being network blocked etc.

Sadly Swappa doesn't give any details. In fact for a test, I used an imei from a phone that definitely does have a financial lock, and Swappa took it. It just seems any of the public searches are not a legit check.

Definitely shows details for me.
Also if you happened to check an IMEI from an AT&T finance locked phone, it will show as allowed because AT&T does not actually blacklist phones for installment plan nonpayment.

I've come across a newer one that supposedly works on the Dec A13. The adb delete config doesn't work past the Dec patch from what I understand.

USA Samsung chat and phone support told me they can't do anything and to call T-mobile.
Tried 3rd Party service https://mobileunlocks.com/ paid them 60Euros they said They can't do anything and I need "Device Unlock App" (what?) attached the outputs from their website below. Tried both IMEIs, both same result.
will flashing with Odin with stock rom will do anything?

I'm pretty sure you need an account with Tmobile to unlock the device. That is the correct and legal way.
The phone also has to be paid off (to T-Mobile). If the person never paid off T-Mobile, then T-Mobile won't unlock it.
You must be a T-Mobile USA customer and meet all of the SIM Unlock Policy requirements for T-Mobile to SIM unlock any device. You also must be the original owner.

Hey,
I recently bought S22 ultra from eBay. It's a T-Mobile network locked.
When I try to network unlock I get the massage:
Tried T-Mobile by phone and tweeter chat, won't help at all because I'm not a direct custumer and don't have an account. Tried contacting them several times but they won't help at all although I gave them the IMEIs.
Thanks for any kind of help....really feel lost about t

Any recommendation on a reputable online unlock service? My S22 Ultra is locked to Smart (PH)
I have a similar problem. I bought an new s908u with uscellular lock from an official seller on eBay and i live in Europe, i tried the unlock band guide from another post, but this didn't help. I don't have an us sim card, but i have read that if you have a network lock and can put in a sim from the original country and make a minimum 5 minutes call it should unlock itself. But before i buy one overseas, can someone maybe verify if this really works? Because first i didn't even get a message to fill in a network code from uscellular, but now i have s908u1 firmware on it, it askes for it. So my question, can someone verify this method will work with any us sim card in Europe to unlock its network lock? and if not what are my possibilities to unlock it myself with software? 3rd party asked 100+ dollars for it. if possible keep the knox and al security things untouched, i already contacted SAMKEY and they say it is not supported and they are the only reputable one i know of. So i think i am stuck because the seller had a no return policy and i was not aware of the fact that there was an international version of snapdragon, this is what happends when you don't do your research well enough first
If you install a custom rom would that remove the network lock?

i read somewhere else it won't. IF you have 200 dollars to spare unlockboot.com can unlock it, i talked to them today i thought it was 35 dollars, but i had misread it, it was 200 for the s22 ultra, so i got immediately my refund. I am not related in any manner but i was trying stuff with SAMFW and there tool works for certain things, and they recommended unlockboot.com and i gave it a try. But 200 is to much for me at the moment, so i want to find another way. If someone has an sim card from the country of where the phone was bought, i read you can use that and call for 5 minutes, and it should unlock it and then you can use any card. i don't have any usa card so can test it
