Help with adding recovery to a Rom - Sony Xperia Miro, Tipo (Dual), J, E

Hello xda
I'm not a big developer, but I was building a stock ics based Rom for xperia E series..but a big problem is that we don't have a recovery for xE.
Although @hsr0 tried to help me,we couldn't make the recovery work..
I need devs of all other devices to help me.please guys, there are not many devs to work for xE.so.it would be really appreciated if you could help me.
Now coming to the point, there is no cwm or twrp available for ics.for xE.
I know moding the stock ics to add a recovery is a tiresome work.
So if anyone could build an ics kernel with any recovery would be a hero..
Now alternatively,is there any way to add a recovery to the Rom instead of leaving the kernel untouched....like adding some recovery files to the Rom.like in gimlo....
Although my ROM can be flashed with a different kernel with recovery, and then flash ics kernel,it would be really difficult for the users...
So I need a recovery for ics..
Any ideas or suggestions are highly welcome...
PLEASE DEVS,,,HELP US...
And thanks to everyone who wanna help me...
Hoping that there would be someone...

Anyone??

I don't know much but i think there was something about putting cwm in the rom, in cwm for miro thread. The first post said something about that.

Question about custom Rom

Hello Guys
I have a Samsung S5830i phone with Gingerbread.XXLI1. I have rooted the phone successfully. I want to installed RazerDroid Rom. The link is as follows :- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1816611. It says that it can be installed from Stock Rom. Is XXLI1 Stock Rom???
Please advise.
Hello girish78,
as far as I know is this the latest Stock Firmware.
I'm new to this but if I'm not mistaken, it depends on the baseband version the rom is based on. Even though yours XXLI1 and its stock, i think there are many more with stock roms for your phone with different baseband versions. I think you should try to ask the developer of the rom to avoid any problems.
Sorry if this wasnt helpful.

Is your cwm fully working? Check if it can back up and restore, back up your rom then restore it. If it works then i think it will be ok to install the rom because you have a back up incase anything goes wrong. Remember, there are still risks involved. I went to the link and done some reading, theres no baseband info specified. Goodluck buddy:thumbup:

Rafael Baugis Kernel Update
Hi All
I want to update the kernel and the process mentions me to install boot.img, then install Rom and then install the module. Check this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1818830
Cannot I just install the module to update the kernel????
Please advise.
Its generally a good idea to follow the instructions given by the developer it might work for you if you try it your way but it would really suck if it doesnt. follow the given instructions rather:thumbup:

Mate, I can follow the instructions but it will be a complete from flash. Was wondering if simply flashing the kernel is okay or not.

[Q] some help..

"Hi guys, newbie here..
Its been very frustrating for me to upgrade my current ROM on my xperia LT15i to CM10.. every time i follow the steps on installing the new ROM an error always occur. I suspect that the kernel im using is not compatible for CM10 and CM9.. so im stuck with my ICS ever since. i used to have a samsung GS1 and i never had problems on switching to whatever ROM i want.. but now Xperia is a different thing for me.. no ODIN.. only Fastboot and etc.. some help pls about the kernel.. and some steps how to do it right.. thank you guys.. my phone is already rooted and i have CWM recovery installed and used X-tools ... thank you..
Do you have unlocked bl?
Or you can't install cm Roms
And kernel is inside Rom zip!
It should be something like 'boot.img'

...
i think BL is already unlocked before if i can remember.. i followed the instructions on the Sony site for unlocking BL.. uhm.. the latest cm10.zip has a kernel inside that i can use you mean? im really sorry coz im quite new .. so some terms needs to be spoon fed to me like step by step.. thank you for replying Ghost.. what should i do then? flash the boot.img inside the zip file of the rom? you mean should extract it manually then flash kernel via fast boot or odin?
Yup,flash that kernel inside Rom zip via fastboot not Odin!
It's ok! I understand you're new here!
Sent from my MT11i using xda premium
wow..
wow you reply soo fast!
so i will extract first the boot.img file from the cm10.zip file then flash it via fastboot then do as normal installing roms through the CMW ? by the way , does the kernel inside the cm10.zip already have a CMW of its own? so i could proceed to installing the ROM and the Gapps?
sorry guys..

Lol,luckily I was ol when you asked!
And ya you're right!
Flash via fastboot kernel
Rom with cwm
And ya,the kernel or boot.img has a cwm already so no worries
But Gapps you'll have to search and install from somewhere!
Install Gapps for JB....
Good luck!
Happy to help

Rooted but no idea how to upgrade

Good day to members of xda community. I've currently rooted my butterfly (x920d Taiwan) using some Chinese guy's guide which uses DNA's recovery. So I'm stuck at the point where I want to upgrade the recovery to a working one. I'm not sure if it is possible to just switch to another recovery as I do not want to brick the phone. Neither am I asking people to brick their phones testing. I'd be glad if anyone has any advice or knowledge to guide me. Can't seem to remember if my recovery is removed or clockwork. Thanks in advance

Download latest TWRP Recovery for x920d from here -> http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/dlxub1
Flash in fastboot and done. Not sure what 'upgrade' are you mentioning ???
To be honest, I'm not so sure myself. Lol. For now, I just want a working recovery instead of an unstable one. Secondly, I'd probably want to get super su working if it's possible.
Thanks for your reply =)

Thanks v-b-n. You have my gratitude. I have no idea if I would brick my phone by trying to flash recovery as I m not sure which recovery I was using. But the good news is that it worked, so, my sincerest gratitude. Quick question. Is there n updated stock Rom out there somewhere? If so, what's the latest version? (would like to know as I need a starting point) =x
Thanks in advance once again

[APK] Flash Zip Files, NO NEED FOR CWM OR TWRP!

Hi Guys!
Today I'd like to share how you can flash those .zip files without a custom recovery!
All you need is the Flash Gordon APK: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2250555
This can flash recoveries, its made for people who have a locked bootloader!
The app is still in it's early stages!
All Credit goes to Androguide.fr for making this awsome app.
THIS APP CANNOT FLASH ROMS!!!
I shared this a couple of months ago in themes & apps section and i have it pre installed in my AVD Rom
K No Problem just making the community aware that xperie e locked bootloader is not dead and can flash zip files!
Yea i was glad when i found it so J users could update my rom without downgrading to ICS every time. So i released update patches
What can you flash with this?

Everything but ROMS!
As long as the update zips are not replacing to many framework & lib files at once.
keep in mind you need busybox installed
use this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=stericson.busybox
Could i flash cwm with this

without a recovery, no, trying to flash with Flash Gordon won't work out well because many system files will be replaced during the flash and that will force android to crash before the flashing has a chance to finish, resulting in a bootloop
Will I be able to flash CWM with this?
I have rooted my XE c1504 using Gandalf exploit and have a locked bootloader.

Yeah...using this thing is like playing with fire without fire extinguisher...something goes wrong,....
Thank me if I helped you,,
