Currently: HTC sensation, hboot 1.27.1111 juopunutbear s-off. ARHD 7.3 rom
previously locked hboot 1.29 s-off, had to get juopunutbear to flash splash screen from fastboot but at this time phone was already not powering off
was working fine yesterday, today everytime i try to turn off (by holding the power button and choosing "power off"), the phone restart instead (downanimation plays, then bootanimation plays, there is no splash screen(the "screaming" white htc screen in stock), the whole process if pretty quick relative to a cold boot - there IS a splash screen if i take the battery out and turn on the phone cold boot though).
Phone will turn off if I use the "power" menu from 4ext recovery control app.
what I did today:
install Multi Swap
Install 4ext recovery control
I uninstalled 4ext recovery control, phone still not turning off. ANyone know what's going on?
Also installed a new 64gb card yesterday... I think that's all I did
Hi I had this issue once, it was because of the down animation being a boot animation.

If u can go to recovery then wipe all and reflash the Rom this should fix it

Exprtes i have desire s S-Off
now i cant reach recovery mode to install new rom or do wipe
always restarting on htc logo
so if i will install new recovery problem will solved ................
thanks
What recovery did you have? Ext4 or cwm?
What happened to cause this? did you pull out the battery?
Have you tried to reboot the device into boot loader and then enter the recovery manually?
Stolen from previous XDA post, sorry no reference
"Basically it's business as usual. Hold [volume-down] and [power] when the phone's turned off. That last bit's the tricky part - because of a feature called fast boot the DS does not really turn off when you shut it down but just hibernates. So you have to either turn off fast boot (in Settings -> Power) or pull the battery before attempting to enter recovery."

I have an htc one s s3, I unlocked the bootloader and flashed a a recovery without any issue, then I wiped data, system and cache and tried to flash an s4 rom (mistakenly, of course and the instalation was aborted and gave me an asserts error), and after that I rebooted my phone without problems but then when i tried to boot into recovery to flash an s3 rom my phone didn't boot into anything, no system, no recovery and no bootloader, my phone shows an HTC screen for a couple of seconds and then the screen goes black but keeps lit. The hard reset flashes the capacitivr keys and again HTC imagr and black screen. I really don't know what to do, please help

I sometimes find that I must hold down only the "volume down" button after pushing the power button to turn it on.
Hey everyone. I just did the S-Off and everything went fine except for the boot loop issue using a 4.1.x based rom in which I had CM10 installed. I installed CM10.1 (4.2.2) and booted up fine. I then tried to install the KingKang rom and it started bootlooping again. So per the usual I held down power and vol down to get to the bootloader to get back to TWRP and now it wouldnt turn on. I went to plug it in and then it went to the HTC white logo with red warning and shut off immediately. Couldnt get the charge light or anything and still no normal boot, bootloader, or download mode. Any ideas?

Bootloader Unlocked and S-Off
Resolved. Throwing the phone at the wall must've jarred the battery and was able to get to recovery via bootloader. Weird...

As for the HTC logo bootloop after s-off, has anyone had this problem as well and/or found a fix?

first custom rom i installed after s-off was ICJ and it gave me alot of hell even got qhsusb_dload once i wiped and flash cm10.1 and that has been fine. not sure if s-off had anything to do with it since i never flashed ICJ beforehand.
Yeah I think I'm done with flashing roms etc. until all the problems are worked out. All I can get to work without looping is CM10.1 and CleanRom 5.1.
im owned hahaha i have s-off and i can get into fastboot but not into recovery, tried to flash twrp but still wont boot into recovery, and i cant boot normally, starts booting and i hear the booting sound but it just gets stuck at the htc quietly brillant white screen, after a while just reboots and gets stuck again.

Ok so yesterday I installed Viper One S 3.1.2 on my phone ( HTC One S - S4 of course ), first it worked perfectly and flawless then i rebooted my phone into recovery to install the wifi fix and camera sense 5 mod v0.2. After that, i reboot my phone again, and it did had the logo of htc and viper team, but when it booted completely, it only has the status bar and a black screen and then it rebooted itself after 15-20s and then stucked into a bootloop. Sometimes it boots as normal as it did before i installed those mods, i tried to hold the power button to choose the "boot in to bootloader" option but it didnt even appeared the power option So right now i can't not boot my phone into bootloader ( even by holding volume down and power button ) and recovery, It reboots itself so fast that my computer can't recognize it to run the RUU Is my phone completely bricked ?
Recovery TWRP 2.5 ?
Hboot 1.14
Radio < 1.20
I don't remember those information much so i'm sorry :crying:

Is your phone "S-OFF"?
You need HBoot 2.16 for radio 1.20. Otherwise HBoot 2.15 is recommended.
Turn your phone off by pressing Power for 10 seconds. Then press "Vol down and power" to enter bootloader.
BTW how about first READ whats required before installing a rom...
First and biggest mistake was to flash a mod that was not certified to work with Viper. In all the Viper threads (the old 2.x and the new 3.x one), it is stated NOT to flash any mod cause it might break the ROM. There are files replaced and those in Viper are tweaked by the Viper Dev team to work with Venom HUB and the themes and tweaks there. Mods usually replace framework-res.apk and if this happens you could have a non working ROM if the new framework-res file is not compatible with the rest of the ROM.
Follow the steps indicated by LS.xD to enter bootloader again. There's no reason for which you could not boot to bootloader again. Disconnect any power from phone, keep the power button hold for about 12-15 secs until you're sure phone is powered off (eventually you'll notice a faint flash on screen when it's turning off). Then hold vol-down and keep it presed while you press and hold power button for 2-3 secs. Continue to keep pressed the vol-down until the bootloader screen appears. Then go to recovery and reflash the ROM. Since you're on hboot 1.14, if you're not S-Off (you didn't mentioned anything about this), you should flash the kernel in fastboot. If you're S-Off you won't need this. Basically you should follow again the exact steps you followed first time when you flashed the ROM
And don't flash any mods again

Hey guys,
Not sure what I did wrong. I was flashing from an AOSP rom to Android Revolution Rom and it went through Aroma successfully but now stuck at HTC boot screen. If I boot into fastboot it automatically loads hboot and of course I still have an 0b6 img so it immediately starts to load that. I can't shut down, have to do hard reset where the cycle repeats.
If I leave it at the boot screen long enough the screen goes blank.
Help?

You can pop out your sd card. Boot to recovery and pop it back in the second you select recovery.
