Incorporating Backlight to 7" tab 3s - Galaxy Tab 3 General

http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...sung-galaxy-tab-3-7-0-no-back light-keys.html
So apparently when the guy talked to Samsung they said that with the new update we shall receive back light on soft keys:fingers-crossed:
But seems a bit dodgy... Why did they release this model without back light?:silly:

I doubt there are even lights behind those keys. Your link returns "page not found". Anyway if anything maybe they'll roll out if the factory at some point with the capability.

red tint

Hey all
Can anyone suggest a reason for this.I will be browsing fine when I get my keyboard up my screen suddenly flicks to having a reddish brown tint.kit then stays like this until I reset. Its straight and it keeps happening.
Also,I've tried different keyboards
Would anyone know whether this is software or hardware related
How long have you had your GNote 10.1? If not long then I would return it for another one as it sound defective to me.

1up I had the issue with my Tab 10.1 and it only got worse over time.
Is it not something that would go away with a software update or a factory reset.
Returning it is one of the last things I wanna do
No that is not something that could be fixed with an update unless it was on a bunch of devices then an update could include a screen calibration but if they include a screen calibration to fix your screen in an update that update would mess up all our GNonte10's. So no update will fix it. Just backup all your downloaded apps and return it.

[Q] Infinity Self Brick?

I should start by saying I'm not that new to android, but I am by no means an expert and have not been able to figure out how to get out of a very confusing situation.
My tf700 is currently running 4.1.1 Jelly Bean and the newest firmware version 10.4.4.23. Before the firmwarm update, I had unlocked my device thinking that I would try out some of the newer roms based on many recomendations from the facebook Infinity group. I never got around to rooting and installing TWRP, and a few days later I updated to the current stock firmware version manualy (downloading zip from website, flashing from stock recovery). Everything worked great for the first 2 days, and I had compeltely forgoten about rooting/romming thinking that the risks far outway the reward as my device was already near perfect. This morning my infinity began to act funny. Touch responseiveness was awfull (about 1/3 times I pressed, it would react) and it would sporadically stop charging while connected to a power supply. Some time later, while I was watching a flash video my screen turned completely blue and I force restarted it by holding the power button. From then on, I could not turn on my infinity and I tried EVERYTHING (pushing the reset button with a pin, trying a cold boot, holding power for 30 sec etc.). When i tried any of these combinations, the device would start vibrating and the vibrations would not stop. Also, the screen remained black the whole time and nothing I did would even get me a faint glimmer of any sort of screen response.
Has anyone had this sort of issue? I do not think this is a firmware problem seing as it worked fine for 2 days with this firmware and I am at a complete dead end as to what to do. Because I am unlocked, I can not send in my infinity for repair as my warranty is gone. Any help with this issue would be greatly apreciated!

Update:
I can now rarely get it to vibrate for even a second holding the power for a long long time. Screen does not come on at all. Looks completely dead.
By your description sounds like a dead or dying LCD.
Sadly RMAing to Asus may cost you out of pocket.
Where did you get the tablet and how long ago?

I was hoping it wouldn't lead to something like this. I got my tablet from Amazon around the first week of september. I have treated it very well.
I'm not quite sure how it could have burned out, my brightness is usualy <50% and I have used the super IPS+ more less time than I can count
on one hand. If this is the case, Is it possible that a technical problem like this would still be repaired on warranty seeing as it has nothing to do
with the bootloader?
Also I'm not sure how this explain the constant vibrating that does not turn off untill the battery runs out. The way I see it is you could be right, the tablet is trying to tell me it's not going to work, or there is really some kind of software glitch.
Have you ever had LCD problems with a tablet? any idea how much this could cost?

I've not had any manufacturing problems with my tab.
I don't see anything you may have done that caused the screen to go bad.
Sounds odd yet a few folks have had their tablet just start working again after seeing similar dead LCD's.
The vibrate thing is weird...almost like a bootloop with no screen.
There's a chance Asus may co-operate if you contact them for an RMA.
It's worth a shot...not sure if Asus has any standard repair rate for this sort of thing.
Curious do you see the back-lights in a darkened room?

Thanks for the advice, I have heard some terrifying stories of Asus customer support (never had a problem with them myself) and of devices just being completely lost in their care.
To answer your question, no the back lights are not visible at all. The only way I know the Infinity is somewhat alive is by the led coming on while charging and the somewhat random vibrating patterns that happen when trying to boot up.

[Q] touch capacitive buttons

A friend of mine bought one of these and he has an issue with the capacitive buttons.
They may be working fine but after some minutes of moderate usage they won't work anymore. Sometimes, this can be fixed by turning off/on the screen.
The phone is supposedly new, it came with 4.0.4 (ATT) and I'm wondering if a ROM upgrade would solve this (I doubt it). Seems like a hardware issue.
There's also this *#2663# code that takes you to a service screen to update soft buttons firmware (or at least that's what I think it does). I was unsure that this would help, but I had to give it a try. It said something like "updating software, do not power off device". However, after several minutes (30min or some like that) the screen was still at this point, so I had to cancel it (pwr menu > reboot) risking a possible brick. No bricks though, phone booted normally and soft buttons were still working fine for sometime then nothing.
Warranty is not an option here because it was bought on amazon. Shipped to another country, so I'm not sure if the phone qualifies for warranty or if my friend would be willing to return it to the US.
I guess I could try updating ROM, or find a way to properly update soft buttons firmware.
Please help!

Galaxy s8+ keeps loosing touch input

Have a NEW galaxy s8+ I used the Samsung transfer tool/software when I got it. Phone just stops responding to my finger. I have to use the power button to turn the screen off then back on for it to pick up my finger.
So I figured it was software related. I just did a factory wipe and install. This time I didn't bring anything back in from back ups. It is still doing this. Any ideas? Are others seeing it? Is it an issue they will update or do I need to contact Samsung? If I call Samsung, anybody have a contact number? I feel pissed because I know if they say its a bad phone I'm going to get a f'n refurbished one.
That sounds like a hardware problem if a factory reset didn't fix it. Where did you buy it?

S7 non responsive screen but leds and charges ok

Hi I have just bought an s7 which turned out to be a Korean G930L but I cant get any response out if it apart from the 2 bottom leds and and the blue one. No response from trying to get into recovery or download mode, basically a black screen though it does vibrate on what i think is start up. It is found by pc and Odin and charges ok, I can tell as I can see properties on pc. But no other response. Is it possible that the previous owner tried to root it using non korean rom or TWRP? Any advice on how to fix either getting TWRP on or screen to light up. I am sorry for being so vague I have pulled it apart and checked all of the connections, screen, motherboard etc but nothing. Odin sees the phone but I am not sure if I am in Download mode so wont flash, as cant see screen.
Or chuck it out or put back on eBay.

Your phone's display screen has a problem , sadly you have to replace the display screen. Go to the nearest samsung service center.
Thanks it isnt worth it I will just sell it on ebay. I have been able to get to some of the screens [though still black] as it talks to me in Korean and the screen is giving haptic feedback so aspects of it are alive still. I am wondering now if someone has tried to ROOT it and semi bricked it or turned off the display internally. The other night night no matter what I pushed it vibrated and answered me with the same korean statement. I am trying to get into Recovery Mode without a screen and flash it without a screen but proving frustrating, maybe samsung dealer can reflash it with needing a screen.

It's not a software issue, there must be water damage or display is broken/went off for some other reason.
I had this same issue with my note 5, I was able to hear everything, touch key and notification lights were on too, that time my note 5 was accidentally dropped by me. So 99% your display is broken. Simply go to service center and get a quote, but display will cost same as used s7. Try to get after market screen.
ok thanks for the advice, i will head to them after the xmas break
