Stuck on boot screen... download mode still works. - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys
This morning my GT-N8000 wouldn't boot. It's stuck on the boot screen displaying "Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1".
I pressed the power button for a while making the device reboot and pressed power & vol-down to enter download mode. Download mode is working so I loaded Odin and the device was recognized so I flashed stock ROM with success. Flash went well and it reached 100% and no error messages from Odin and the Note 10.1 rebooted as expected. BUT... it's still stuck on boot screen.
Is it possible to make a hard reset somehow? Maybe while it's connected to the computer somehow?
I suppose I will have to send it in for repairs
Brgds...

Go first to recovery Mode (Power + Volume Up) and make a Factory Reset, After this CLEAR CACHE. Reboot and maybe thats it. If not, Flash now again with odin.
Your Data and Setting are all delete after this, but i dont know a other Way :-\

Power+Vol up will not bring up recovery mode on mine... are you sure it does on yours?

Okay.... Switch off the Note.
Hold down Power and Volume Up, if you see the Boot Logo, hold only the "volume up" down and release the power button until you see the Android symbol

I have the same problem, my GNote is stuck on the "Samsung Galaxy Note" screen.
I've tried to switch off the note, but the screen goes off for one second and it lights up again at the same screen.
If I plug the USB cable and try to switch it off, the note goes to the battery charging screen.
Odin seems to "connect" with the table.
I can enter the download mode and just that. I can't enter the recovery.
Attached pictures of qhat I get.
Any sugestions?

Did you try to flash stock firmware when in download mode and connected to odin?

Solved doing this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2620782

Then i guess the only way would be to flash a stock firmware using odin, eg the one it came with from the factory.
You should be able to download a stock firmware from SamFirmware, after you have created a free account....

if you look at my thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2619555
it shows you that i have already tried this method your telling me about and all it says is "Fail" :/
Any other suggestions?

didn't solve mine... ... ...
Agelcer:
I did as you said, but unfortunately, for me Odin always gave me the Failed Message.
I used the firmware file from the link and the Odin 3.07 from the other link as well.
Did anyone get the same result?
And did anyone find a solution for this problem after failing with this method?
Thanks

Usual reasons for fail .
Wrong Firmware / Wrong Model .
Bad firmware download .

I went to a service with my N8000. They put another EMMC and tried something with JTAG (they didn't say the exact details), still doesn't work. What other things can I do, apart from changing the whole board - the most expensive solution (is there a little component that could be damaged and it gets stuck at boot logo)?

mate just stop blaming him for using the wrong key combination
question to op:
can you boot into download mode?? (volume down+power+home)
if you can:
download your country's firmware from sammobile.com
extract that zip
connect your phone to your computer with your usb cable (make sure your cable is working fine)
click on "pda" in odin, choose the file you extracted from your zip.
the odin should say comort (or a number)
and also shows that you are connected: "added!"
click start
wait until it finishes, your phone should boot up with no problem now
don't unplug when it's still flashing
I can get into download mode. Going to try that now. Also when I said volume up + home + quit I meant quit as the power button.
Edit: Installed stock and rooted now. Thanks.

[Q] How to root when you can't get download mode? 4.2.2

Okay, I've got this Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 that's been updated with the OTA 4.2.2 update that will not turn off. I want to sell it but I don't want the new owner bugging me about it not being able to turn off. So I decided to root it and put Cyanogen Mod on it but I can't get it into download mode to flash it. I can only get it into ADB sideload from the stock recovery. Also, I can't even find the option to put it in USB debugging mode.
So my question is what's the best way to root and add CWM to this device while it's like this? I would download ROM Manager from the Playstore to start the process but I'm afraid it will brick the device. When I tried to flash the CWM zip to root it from the stock recovery I get an error saying it was unsigned or something to that affect. I've rooted many devices but this one is driving me nuts! What a screwed up update.

Are you able to reboot your tab when pressing power for some time?
Are you holding the right buttons to enter into download mode? (Holding Power + Volume-UP)
In order to enable debugging on the Tab 2, you must go to Settings>>About Tablet. Keep tapping on "Build number" then eventually the Developer Options tab will display on the left. Tap on Developer Options and you will see on the right where you can enable USB debugging mode.

Yes, it will reboot but it wont stay off. When I try to get it into dowload mode it will just quickly say "no command" and go to the the menu. Seems Im stuck on this version forever.
No you are not there are always two ways. Let me think. Your tab is rooted ?

I have a p5113 and to get into recovery is Power + Vol down. Download mode is Power + Vol up. If you are able to get into recovery I know something that may work for you. This will install Philz Touch Recovery. I use it and it works well. Download the .zip file pertaining to your device (p5113).
- Download Philz Touch Recovery (.zip): http://d-h.st/users/philz_touch/?fld_id=16057#files
- Download SuperSU (.zip): http://download.chainfire.eu/372/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.86.zip
Copy the .zip files to your device's microSD card and flash philz touch from Recovery Mode. Reboot back into Recovery Mode and flash the SuperSU .zip file. This should root your device.
Yea bro but he is also unable to boot into recovery dont know what problem is this. But I m sure it is boot loader problem.

I was finally able to fix the problem with not being able to shut down. I finally got the device into download mode after several tries. Once I saw that I quickly opened up ODIN and flashed clockwork mod recovery. After flashing that it shut down properly afterwards. I have shut it down 5 times in a row now and it shuts down and stay shut down every time. Im totally satisfied with that! Thanx for all you guys help.
I got it into download mode by plugging in, and shutting it down until I got to the battery charging icon (will only shut down plugged in after 2 or 3 attempts). After about 30 seconds hold down the power button and the volume down button simultaneously until the warning screen comes up. The tap volume up (button closest to the power button).

Can not update from 5.0.2 Galaxy S6

Hi guys,
I just bought S6 and here are problems that I encountered:
Phone is unbranded, sim-locked, I performed factory reset too (soft).
1. Firmware installed is 5.0.2 and I wanted to update to 5.1.1 but there is no option in About Device -> Software update. This button is simply missing ! First time I see something like this
2. I did soft factory reset again, still missing.
3. I wanted to do hard reset but after holding up volume up+home+power and selecting factory reset option I get "No command" message and phone reboots to normal operation.
4. Smart Switch nor Kies sees my phone. Phone is detected by windows and I can access the storage. (I tried with all of the USB modes)
Has anyone encountered things like that ?

Samsung SM-T210 brick ?

Hello,
I've got a problem with my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 SM-T210 . Here's what i've done:
1. I've flashed him with TWRP recovery using ODIN.
2. Recovery didn't work, but main OS booted fine.
3. I did something stupid. I've clicked factory reset and confirmed it.
4. Now device boots up, tries to go into recovery mode and fails and it's stuck in a loop. (logo shows up, then black, litted screen, then power off)
I have no connection with PC - dmesg on Linux is totally silent, Windows doesn't see the device too. Can't do anything.
Is there anything I can do ? Is there a "hardware" way to reset it without using JTAG (just tell it to boot into main OS instead of recovery)? I'm an electronic but i don't specialize in phones and tablets so I don't have JTAG interface and it's pretty expensive.
Best regards and thanks in advance for any help.
Ok nevermind. I've got it working.
Somehow the download mode went to HOME+POWER+VOLUME DOWN instead of HOME+POWER+VOLUME UP as it was normally.
I was able to flash newest CWM and everything is working fine.

Download mode on Samsung has ALWAYS been volume down+home+power or volume down+power, not volume up.
Recovery on Samsung has ALWAYS been volume up+home+power or volume up+power. Most if not all devices use the volume up to boot to recovery.

SM-G920F - Bootloop during installing systemupdate

Hi, a friend of me has a Samsumg Galaxy S6 (SM-G920F), which runs continuously in a bootloop while installing a system update. It goes to 29% and then restarts himself to start installing the system update again and returns to exactly 29% again, followowd by a restart again, and again, and again ........ Attempts to start-up in recovery mode (Power, Volume +, Home) or download mode (Power, Volume -, Home) do not work. Also my PC does not recognize the phone. :crying::crying:
Does anyone have got an idea to got my phone working, or any other idea to get my phone in recovery- or download-mode?
Anyone?

No, unfortunately not. It keeps restarting when system update is at 29% and after the restart keeps comming back in "installing a system update" ......

When you connect To odin. The Phone is recognized?
You are not holding volume down+power+home long enough. Keep holding it until you get to the download mode prompt screen.

I'm guessing you already tried running it flat? There is still a chance download mode is bootable once you get the phone to go off due to flat battery.
This phone is a pretty bad brick, I've fixed up to DRK corrupted but this one seems unrecoverable.

Yes, I already let the phone running empty battery. But as soon as I plug in the powercord, the same process starts over and over again .......
And with adb ?
same trouble
Hi everybody, i had the same trouble on my G-920F (S6), and the only strange way i've find, is to keep button volume up AND down and power, once it's turn off for rebooting, i've add the home button pressed.
finally by that way it show me the recovery menu. Another time it show me the download menu !!??
Well but now my trouble is that i cannot succeed to flash correctly the last official samsung firmware using Odin .
i've tryed to erase nand (i know i should not), but without succeed.
so i'm looking for pit file, and i will try an older firmware.
so try with the volume up and down and power, in case of it works like for me
