[Q] Stock recovery volume rocker only down, not up? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I booted the stock recovery and i noticed a strange behaviour... The volume rocker lets me making the selection only with the volume down. If i press volume up, the icon with the robot and a "no command" appears and the menu disappears until I press again the volume down! I can highlight just with the v- and i cannot go up! What about your stock recovery experience?
Thanks very much

[Q] volume button on case

Every time I touch the Volume Button on the side of the case (even accidentally) the ringer volume goes down incrementally. Can this button be locked or deactivated? Can the volume be locked in some other way? Does the vibration setting have anything to do with this issue?
Volume Control + will lock your volume for you.

[Q] Fix download/recovey buttons combo!!

Hello all!
I have a galaxy GT-I9003 that is on 2.3.6 gingerbread.
I want to flash another stock rom for it as i am having issues with it where it keeps rebooting by itself.
Now i cannot access both recovery & download mode to do teh flash
when i press the combo (any of them) i get the logo of samsung, then it fades away & a total black screen appears!! once i remove my finger from teh power button the phone starts! is there anyone who can help me how to fix the button combo issue pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease
PS. my phone is NOT rooted!
Many thanks
what you are experiencing is because of overdoing in pressing the power button (specially for accessing recovery mode). simultaneously press the 3-combo - volume up/down + home button + power.

Dead Power Button

My power button is failing on me.. I can't use it anymore and it opens up the power menu randomly once every couple 10ish seconds and also turns off the screen without my input! I currently have a [Go To Sleep] tile on cm10.1 and volume button wake as a work around. Is there a way to disable the power button completely?

Recovery boot options

Can somebody refresh my memory on how to get the boot option for recovery and fast boot by just pressing the power button I'm currently running joker rom.
I'm mot aware if joker has the advanced power menu but most roms menu will come with those options if it doesn't come up with advanced power menu than the Rom doesn't have that mod
Press power and volume down until lights stop flashing. Release power button for a second while holding volume down then press and hold power again. Use volume to move and power to select.

No, I have a different volume bug though. When my phone is on silent or vibrate only, sometimes when I try to increase volume by pressing volume up button the volume increase overlay window appears (as expected) showing that my volume is increasing. But the silent or vibrate icon in my notification bar does not disappear, and in fact my volume has not increased at all.
This is intermittent and the only way I have found of fixing it is to reboot the phone.
