I connect my SGSII (USB Utilities ->Connect storage to PC) to the player,so all the media shows up in the player.
when I connect my nexus 5 , the mtp connection shows up but but no response from the car player.
Why?

First time poster, desperate for a solution.
The Equipment:
Galaxy Tab(SCH-I800) through Verizon
2012 Hyundai Elantra
G'zOne Ravine
The Vision:
Mounting my tablet to my dash, streaming audio to my car stereo via bluetooth.
The Situation:
I have paired my phone and tablet to my car. Tab recognizes the car, car recognizes the tab, everything is peachy. When scrolling through my audio source options (FM1, FM2, AM1, AUX, Phone) I can select Phone, which is connected to my Ravine. In this mode, every possible sound is streamed through my car stereo (even beeps while texting).
I have an option to make my tab the Priority in Bluetooth. When this happens, the audio source option skips from AUX to FM1, eliminating Phone. I also get a message in my car that says connection failed.
If I try to us Share Via Bluetooth on my tab, using Music Player, Youtube, or Netflix, I get an error that says file not sent (Understandable because it is not connected to anything)
What I've Tried:
-Checked Hyundai Forums: They blamed the tab and directed me to XDA.
-Checked Galaxy Tab/Android Forums: They blamed Verizon who apparently cripple functionality of their products (Bluetooth)
-I have read through your wiki, searched QA and Galaxy Tab threads.
-Watched numerous youtube videos on Bluetooth, Connecting Tabs to Audio, and Connecting Galaxy Tab to anything bluetooth.
Before you ask...
***These are all questions I have been asked on other forums***
-The volume is up on my tab.
-The car is on.
-The tab is in discoverable mode.
-I have deleted my phone and tried without the phone in my car.
-I have downloaded BlueAudio App
-Yes the auxillary cable works, but it is not optimal.
Looking forward to you help and suggestions! I hope I met all your standards based on your hilarious and informative noob video
I have two Nexus 5, one is running Lollipop 5.1.1, the other Marshmallow 6.0 (OTA upgrade).
USB Audio out works fine on the Lollipop Nexus 5: I can connect a USB DAC (iBasso D-zero MK2) using an OTG cable and play streaming music with Spotify, Google Play Music and local music files with Rocket Player. Connecting the same USB DAC with the same cable to the Marshmallow Nexus 5 fails: no sound when playing streaming music and local files using the same apps. (The USB Audio Player Pro app works fine on the Marshmallow Nexus 5, though, allowing to play local music files via USB.)
I tried the "Select USB Configuration" setting in Developers Options and set it to "Audio Source", with no success.
Also, the "Disable USB audio routing" setting in Developers Options is disabled.
Do someone have experience with USB Audio on Nexus 5 Marshmallow?
I received a brand new Nexus 9 today and updated it to Lollipop 5.1.1: USB audio worked fine without any special setting.
After update to Marshmallow 6.0: USB audio is gone!
It works with the USB Audio Player Pro app, which only plays your own local files.
This issue does not seem to be device dependant, since it occurs on both Nexus 5 and 9.
Seems to be a drastic regression of 6.0, or a limitation which was not here in Lollipop.
Can somebody test this on Nexus 5X/6P?
I have a Nexus 6 and I am having the same issue. USB connected to Android Auto on my Volkswagen Golf worked perfectly on 5.1.1, now no sound on 6.0 OTA. Same USB cable, only a software update.
Has this been resolved? I have just updated my Shield TV to Marshmallow and also have no sound.
seems like an issue in MM only =/

I'm guessing there is no solution to this yet. I have a Galaxy Note 5 and I have the same exact issue. USB Audio Player Pro works like a charm but nothing else gets a squeak
Hey, I tried many tutorials but In can't find a way working. I want to use my phone as a "mp3 player". My goal is to connect my phone with bluetooth to windows 10 to listen music from android. Anyone know how to do it?
I have just come back into Android (8 years iOS) with a OnePlus 6 and was disappointed to find I couldn't simply play my podcast/music media through USB into my Citroen van. (Bluetooth phone only, no streaming).
On iOS, media plays natively through USB to lightning.
I have seen various postings etc on how to enable MTP, none seem to work.
Is this a bug? or am I missing something here?
Interestingly audio files on the device do play on the car audio, but there is no way to properly control/select them using steering wheel controls and my Pocketcasts and Amazon music apps have no effective control.
Would an OTG cable/adapter work here?
I'm running 9.0.7 and have access to MTP when connected to my Volkswagen. When you plug in your phone, you'll get a notification that it's charging. tap the notification, and it should expand, giving you options to select MTP. My VW has a "media" screen that allows me to select the source of the media, and steering wheel controls work. I'm not sure how it's done on the Citroen though.
My Android phone I use as a media player doesn't seem able to send album artwork metadata to my car's entertainment system. Thinking this might be a bluetooth limitation I tried to read from the phone as a USB device but the entertainment system refused to read that at all even selecting File Transfer as the USB method.
The car (Mini Cooper SE) is meant to be able to read from a music player. I've tried all kinds of file types, several USB cables, it just refuses.
Anyone know how to get this to work?
(And no, we DON'T want to use bluetooth. Bluetooth doesnt give album art on the music on our players.)
