Wow, it seems really nice! An HD remake of a great classic! Is it optimized with touchpads?
Just brought this for my Xperia Z and must say it is now my favourite fighter on the store. Don't get me wrong I love the classic 2D fighters as it's what I grew up on, but this HD remake feels more like an up to date made for mobile quality title and not the original I had and loved.
BTW - What did the game cost you? (anyone that brought it legally).
It states the first 2 weeks it's on offer but it cost me over £4 UK (around $6 - 7 US I belive), that would make this an expensive game for Android when it increases further if this is the proper sale price.
Just some info to add to the OPs link:

Has anyone else on Gingerbread noticed that you are able to move up and down the main menu using the left touchpad? Nothing else works at all, just that. Very strange.
It runs pretty well on my xplay
rom xelite gamer (last version) , kernel lupus gb v12 @1,6ghz
Too bad the controls won't work though.
It's definitly not soul blade, I'm not sure if it's really like soulcalibur 1. I haven't played this game for too long.
Soul Edge (ソウルエッジ Sōru Ejji?) is a 1995 3D arcade fighting game developed by the team Project Soul and published by Namco. It is the first installment in the Soul series of weapon-based fighting games. An upgraded and expanded version of the game was ported to the PlayStation later that same year. Namco chose to use the title Soul Blade in Europe, North America and Australia. The game was a commercial and critical success and was followed by a several sequels, beginning with Soulcalibur in 1998.(wiki)

nothing new ^^ I know about this stuff, the game soulcalibur on android is not soulblade/edge
I have played soulcalibur1 on my friend's dreamcast long time ago so I can't say if it's really this games graphics.
All I can say is that it has better graphics than soulblad but worse than soulcalibur2
Looks very nice, I hope I can play it smoothly with no lags at all.

There always has been prior mentions that GLWG sorta worked with Xperia PLAY's d-pad. This update makes it official though! Shows up in the Game Launcher and everything!
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.rubicon.dev.glwg
CURRENT VERSION: 1.1.1
What's in this version:
1. Point release with additional support for Xperia PLAY devices.
2. Changed description text for Standard Campaign
3. Added support for Vizio tablets and all devices with Marvell chipsets.
Xperia PLAY's game support just looks more and more awesome by the moment.
The game is a direct rip off of advance wars for GBA
if you never played it I suggest checking it out.
Tho I'm really not mad because I like both versions / both spins on it.
Xperia Play optimized? Sorry but this "optimization" is a total joke...
You still have to use touchscreen to move your units, camera moves horribly when pressing dpad (left arrow to move camera to the bottom right?? WTF?!). You can just zoom in and out with triangle and square and can rotate the camera with the triggers...
Surely "great work" in optimizing this game -.-
Sent from my R800i using xda premium
a lil bit old news, this is optimized already even in 1.1 version, romcio is right this is much playable if you will use touchscreen..
d-pad mapping is just sick as hell
not worth the "Xperia PLAY Optimized" tag
great game though

The [console name] Wars strategy series has been long-running in Japan, though our first taste came on the GBA. In fact, the developer (Nintendo's own Intelligent Systems) is also responsible for the very similar Fire Emblem turn-based strategy RPG series and everything from Final Fantasy Tactics to Front Mission is based on those. They both started in the 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System/Nintendo Famicom days! Anyway, my point is that nearly any turn based strategy game is inspired by the Wars series and nearly any SRPG is inspired from the Fire Emblem series.
Even when they are late to the party, like they were when they made their Real-Time Strategy games Pikmin and Pikmin 2, there were others blatantly "inspired" by them, like Code Masters' Overlord and Overlord II.

I would say those games you mention are similar to advance wars
with advance wars you start with some money and build a unit to attack the other team
you have fog of war usually to make the game scary when playing with your mates on a train ride
1 person would get the device. make a new unit and move it
then pass it to their mate and they would do the same thing
till eventually you would run up on them and have a full on war
it was a crazy game
and this great little war is basicly using the whole same template with fog of war and money and units, even the grid system.
so ya i would say advance war is a pioneer in that respect
being able to play with ya mates on a train passing the device back and forth
Woot! I released a new Free to play version of 'Asteroid 2012 3D' basically its now part of the PocketChange network of games...
You get 3 free plays and can then use tokens bought in any game with any game...
Its an all out old-school shooter in 3D, based on the original arcade concept of Asteroids, consisting of:
All New GFX
3D Radar System
Portals for transporting between different zones
Multiple New Enemies
Multi-lingual Interface

Any comments or requests would be great if you could leave them here, or if they are super favorable leave them on Google Play
I hope you enjoy playing as much as I have making it!

Introducing an RPG that will bring hearts together!

zelda combined with kingdom hearts o.o
Dude you beat me! Just was about to post this. LOL. Its all good. I just bought this but have not tested it yet. It does list xperia play support. Also just a tip. On all xperia play optimized games a leave a review on the store and thank and encourage Kemco to continue support of our phone. I know their games are not CPU/gpu intensive but our phone is 2 1/2 years old since it's release. So I think continuing to thank and encouraging them that we. Perks play users are grateful goes a long way towards continued support
Anyways thanks TLR for posting this.

Hello
Maybe some of u guys has played brigandine legend of forsena for ps1 in 90's.
That game had some serious problems in emulators for pc, emulator for psp, emulator for android and because that was almost impossible to play and many people never played in emulators.
Last month a guy alone finished the translation of brigandine : grand edition that never was released in english. He translated all the game alone. Brigandine grand edition has lots improved and stuff. There's was a brigandine ge translation some years ago but that was around 50% and forgotten.
This new translation is in 100% english and this gentleman even did one mod to this game called grand patch and the experience is amazing. Brigandine grand edition works perfects in any emulator and is even better in our xperia play. This game is divided in disk 1 and disk 2. You need apply the patch using ppf o matic.
To who don't know brigandine.
Brigandine is a huge strategy rpg game and Is simple to learn.
Six kingdoms started fight against other and you can summon monsters to help you against other enemys. You can send your rune knights to quests to search equips, items and even rare monsters. You can change class or ur rune knights and ur monsters.
This game is from 97 but you feel that is ahead our time like FF 7, Tactics ogre, and other amazing games from past.
Please don't judge brigandine only because is from ps1. You go surprise yourself with this game
You can check the game in wikipedia to learn something and the patch can be find in the translator guy page. Go to google and put Any Brigandine (PSX) fans? - Sword of Moonlight
our xperia play is not dead yet!
anything msg me:laugh:
it will never die, because of game keyboard and emulators I'll check this game out, seems great!
Hello XDA-Dev Forums,
Nick B from Playrise Digital here - first post so I hope we're not out of line and we've followed the rules for posting about our app. We're a small Indie Dev team in Liverpool UK and we just thought we'd alert you to our little combat racing game 'Table Top Racing Premium' and it's recent update to Lollipop 5.0 and compatibility with Android TV. The free version has been knocking around for about a year, but it's not compatible with Android TV because some of the advert channels not being compatible. So the premium version app is the only version compatible with Android TV Devices. We worked closely with Google on ADT-1 (we even made it onto stage at Google IO (just))...
The game runs at 1080p/60hz (like all good console games ) on Nexus Player with Extreme Graphics switched on (you'll find the benchmark test in the Options menu).
- Optimized for 5.0 and Android TV
- Optimized for Nexus Player and Nexus 6
- 'Extreme' graphics option now available for Nexus Player and Nexus 6 (many others support this mode)
- Compatible with Android TV, standard remote controller AND game controller
If you ever remembered Micromachines, you'll know where this is coming from - One user review described it as "The love child of Micromachines and Mario Karts" and I guess that's a fair summing up. I should let you know that the IAP in there is completely optional and there for further donations or a boost, but you can unlock and win everything in the game through game play and skill alone. I know it's not normal for premium games to have IAP in there but we have people write to us all the time saying the game is worth more than the asking price and so they have bought some IAP to support us. Always grateful, but NOT a requirement at all.
Game Features:
- 17 Insane cars to master
- 8 Incredible race tracks
- 4 Fierce championships
- 30+ Special Events
- 7 Unique Game Play Modes
- 9 Cunning Power-Ups
- Game Modes: Combat Races, Drift mode, Elimination, Hot Lap, Pure Race, Pursuit and Time Trial
Google Games Services:
- 28 Achievements
- 19 Leader boards
- Cloudsave sync between your devices
Important note:
Android 4.0+ only
In-Game Languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese
As a new user I can't post links but if you search for "Table Top Racing Premium" on the Play Store - its there.
Hope that's a reasonable intro from us and to TTR and I hope you have fun if you play it.
Thanks for your time in reading this.
