Whenever I connect my Bluebuds X to my Nexus 5, they automatically turn the audio volume up to max. If I try and turn it down, they automatically turn it all the way back up. I can't use them because it's too loud, and I've had to switch to my Motorola SD-10HD headphones which don't have this problem. Tried to pair them with my old HTC EVO 4G LTE and they had the same issue, which my Motorolas did not. Thoughts?

Hey guys I have a problem with my HTC one X. I have e-mailed HTC and they are asking a million and one questions about my car. Thought I would pop a message here to see if anyone can help. If it helps im uk based with stock software locked to orange but tried with my gf who has unbranded hox. works with an htc desire. HTC said could be a compatibility issue which is a load of poo.
My HTC ONE X pairs with my vauxhall corsa 61 plate standard bluetooth car stero and I can scroll through the phone book and answer/make a call but cannot get any audio through the speakers. it pairs under the name UHP. I can select that on the phone for the audio output but still it plays though the phone speaker.
I have heard alot around issues playing songs through bluetooth but this isnt a function of my standard bluetooth stereo.
anyone have any ideas or experiancing similar?
try turning Media volume up? eveyrtime i disconnect my BT or take out headphones, my ATT one x automatically drops the media volume all the way down. then i have to turn it up again.
My BT has been working (almost) flawlessly with my 2012 Honda Civic. Occasionally it will disconnect for about a second, then reconnect. Otherwise, calls and BT audio work fine.
Sounds to me like you have the international one x. Not the lte variant this forum is for. Your question might be better suited for the right forum for your device.

This forum is for the US and Canada version of the One X, which has a different SoC (chipset) from the UK version. Not sure if the issue would be duplicated on our version. You might get better response on the proper forum:

Hey Folks,
Having an odd one with my new perfect nexus 5. I use the LG HBS730 BT Headset and while I play any sound I am unable to fully mute the audio. I tried lowering it via the volume on the phone and headset. It lowers but not mute it fully, the low volume is still pretty loud.
Anyone else tried this? Works perfect on my old phone as well as my iPad, when I lower it fully it'll mute but not on my nexus.
Thoughts?
Btw tried it with Google Play Music and YouTube, same issue.
The HBS730 is loud as hell on its lowest setting. The 700 is normal. The reason it is so loud on the Nexus is the Bluetooth is now linked up volume wise. The problem is the 730 not the nexus.

Its not about being loud my issue, its the fact that i am unable to mute the audio. I can do this on an HTC One XL, S4, and iPad.
With the Nexus, i cant mute it.

I could mute mine on 4.3, but not 4.4. Like I said, the OS in 4.4 now links up Bluetooth Volume level to the media volume level. This leads to it being unable to be muted since you can't turn down the volume past the lowest the headset offers. The closest thing you can do is pause, but that's it.
FYI, I have 2 HBS730's, and a HBS700.

Any fix? I am using an equalizer as a workaround but it's kind of inconvenient. The equalizer app sometimes got killed and then the volume jumps (and so do I)!
I have this headset and I love it. unfortunately I have the same problem in that even on its lowest setting its pretty loud.
I am starting to wonder if this is a KitKat issue. Here is why I am I am blaming KitKat.
It started with my Verizon Moto X. This is my first KitKat device. I listen to podcast throughout the day over bluetooth headsets. I have 2 that I switch between as they need charging. What will occasionally happen is that I will power off one headset when the battery gets low and then power on the next one. Instead of passing audio to the new headset it will pass it to the (front)phone earpiece. Even shutting off the the headset will not allow it to go to the rear speaker. The audio will stay going through the earpiece speaker until I reboot the phone. I thought this was an issue with the Moto X until I loaded SlimKat 4.4.2 on my Galaxy S3 and it started doing it on this phone. I use different bluetooth headsets than on the Moto X. It never happened on the S3 when I was running JB.
Am I the only one experiencing this?
Hi!
I bought car holder for my Note Pro to listen music from it and use it as navigator.
I noticed that volume level is very weak over Bluetooth (I connect my devices to my car speakers over BT) when compaired to my Note 3. NP is same loud on max volume what Note 3 is with 3/4 volume. So max volume leaves too low (I have to trun so much volume to my car radio that I'm terrified of blowing up my aplifiers, since I have never turn volume so loud when using USB, radio, or Note 3 over BT).
Is there any way to boost that volume up, to get it at least same level as Note 3? I got rooted tablet, but no custom recovery or so.
I found somewhere that editing mixer_paths file, you can increase volume levels, but only for speakes and headphones.
So any help is welcome
Try Viper4Android. Gives you a bit of gain control, and other quality enhancements over speaker, headphones, USB and Bluetooth.

In fact I found and installed it yesterday evening, just hadn't got time to test it. At least there is option to enable Bluetooth tweaks and boost volume level up. Need to test does it really do that on my device.
I'll report here when I have tested it.
I've never tried it on smp900, but works really well on my Nexus 5/Bluetooth

I haven't got time to get any deeper in to this, but so far when I enable master power for Bluetooth devices on Viper4Android and set "output gain" up to the max (6.0dB) under master gate, I get a bit louder BT output.
This is good start, just can't turn enough gain to it. Clearly my Note 3 is still louder when playing music through BT than my NP.
Need to play around V4A and read about it to find out if there's some other twaks that could help me on this.
I have had my HTC A9 for nearly 2 years now. I have been very happy with the phone. I have had it rooted and using the stock ROM, but rooted so I can use the Native Hotspot. The unit works well, other than a diminishing battery life.
I recently bought a new pair of Jaybird headphones. I had the BlueBuds, and now switched to the Jaybird Freedom. I really like this pair of headphones, however I seem to have a new issue with it. It appears that the in call volume maxes out much quieter than my old set. The ending "beep" when a call is ended is perfectly loud as is all music playback. Just the call volume itself. I have tried the headphones on other phones and it works fine with them. This issue seems to only be with my A9, and only when in a call. as I said it works fine for music. ANyone have any suggestions on how I might resolve this?
