Senior Moderator "zelendel" noted this on Android Development:
"It has come to my attention that roms are being released without Kernel source coded being provided. As per XDA rules and XDA policy please post links to the source code to the kernel included in the rom. If the OEM doesnt provide the source code for their Stock kernel they are in violation of the GPL and in turn Roms for those devices will not be allowed on XDA."

I think it leads to more development. Now people start pushing OEM to release the source. As a result at least some of the devices will get source.

Since I am busy with development of Xperia L as it is the device I am purchasing, I have very small time & cannot work for A110 parallely.
So in order to give other willing developers a hand of help, and to let it grow more, I have open-sourced the device tree for A110 which I wrote from scratch.
Github:
https://github.com/varunchitre15/android_device_a110
With this you can compile
- A fully working TWRP
- A fully working CWM
- You can also compile CM with it, but as I wasn't able to complete it, you will have a faulty build just as the one lying down by me.
Please note I won't be monitoring this thread and i wont provide any technical support on how to do this and that. You have to help yourself
I've requested to developers on XDA General Forum to help port CM....
Hoping to get some positive replies:

Not much happening for the sm-n900 (Octa) yet. Understandable considering the knox counter 0x1 .........
When I (hopefully) get my Octa device, will probably use it as stock for the first few weeks, so hopefully anything requiring warranty will show up by then. After that, may start to have a play around, which in the meantime, doesn't stop me from taking a look at the source code
Hello guys ,

[TUTORIAL]Compile rom from source[janice] - thanks to @KINGbabasula
COMPILE From Source For Any Phone On Linux Distros [BUILD ENVIRONMENT TO COMPILE] - thanks to @mithun46
[HOWTO][STEPBYSTEP] Build Rom From Source - thanks to @Haze028
and few more ... hope it help you to learn
there is nothing like illegal in this, somebody gave access to sources and we are free to use them , they have more important things to do other than taking actions against someone who is developing a custom rom using these sources.
moreover if this is not allowed still we have sources from maclaw and that would still be better than nothing afterall he is still progressing using those sources only....
this is what i believe maybe there are some more deep stuff which has to be resolved before using those sources....

The lockscreen is not an app you simply install. May I suggest your read up on what open source and closed source is if you want too of course.
Maybe somebody will create a close look a like for you
