I'm stuck in a boot loop after replacing my build.prop file, I replaced it with my own stock unedited one that I made a back up of with the one I edited with those RAM fixes. That did nothing and made my phone even slower so I used ES explorer and moved my stock file to the system folder and did an overwrite. Now my phone is stuck in a bootloop. I'm rooted not running a custom rom or recovery. Is there any way I can get this working without doing a factory reset? Yes I already tried wiping cache.
EDIT: DID A FACTORY RESET AND WIPED CACHE STILL STUCK IN BOOTLOOP.

always you have to do a nandroid backup for this case, but if you don't have the only way to fix this problem is flashing de stock firmware.

first you have to get out of that situation, that mean you need a stock firm. Later read tutorials to install a custom rom, because if you have problems modification build.prop installing a custom rom is more harder. Download and install the stock firmware.

Agreed. I'm still curious how I managed to put my phone into a bootloop by restoring my own build.prop file.
While using odin to flash firmware my usb connection kept cunning in and out for some reason I dont know why I even installed the updates. And it failed. Now I cant get rid of "An error has occured while updating the device software use emergency........" screen.... Now what.

I got it to work, used another USB cable and odin finished installing it after 20 tries of USB fails.
So yesterday i done a pretty stupid thing of restarting my phone after I hid my SU binary using hide my root. This left what i think was a soft-brick as it was stuck on the samsung animation. I then stupidly enough got confused with my TWRP recovery menu and ended up wiping out my OS, leaving only the TWRP recovery on the phone. I then decided to download a 6.1.1 stock rom for my SM-G920F. When i tried flashing however, somehow ODIN froze and i made another stupid mistake of restarting my phone from download mode which resulted in the phone being froze on a screen saying " an error has occurred while updating the device software use the emergency recovery function s6 " cant provide an image as this is my first post, but please google the error message if you wish to see it
So i panicked thinking my phone was dead completely and surrendered, but today i managed to hook it up to TWRP and flashed the recovery. Now when i bootup i can access download mode and it boots straight to recovery. To make matters worse I began trying to download the original rom i recieved when i got the phone, however when i try flashing i get errors such as " SW rev, Check Fail: 'x' binary 'y' device "
(x and y vary for each stock rom i tried flashing.)
I have no way of finding out my firmware, bootloader info or anything. Is there ANY fix to this? I've made a huge mess of everything and I'm now desperate. Please, any advice would be a god-send. Thank you for withstanding this crappy post, I'm kind of a noob at xda.
EDIT 1- So I managed to install a custom ROM and kernal as i could transfer files while in TWRP for some reason but a new problem has showed up. So as of right now I have a custom rom installed which works, but when reboot my phone, TWRP is automatically opened after the initial samsung logo. I usually have to reflash my custom ROM (without wiping any data besides cache and dalvik) and the ROM installer will then reboot into the ROM, however this means when my phone turns off, my recovery is booted up instead of the ROM
I'm sensing some sort of Bootloader problem?

First off i dont own an S6 (im still rocking the S4), but i have had some problems over the years but always managed to fix them in the end.
So while in Download mode are you not able to Flash Stock ROM (downloaded from samfirmware) via ODIN (following the instructions on the site)?
In TWRP are you not able to flash a custom ROM (probably with OTG cable if you dont have the ROM stored on the internal memory).
Any issues i have had i have always been able to do at least one of the above methods. If you cant do either or, im not sure what else i would try.
Thanks

If you flashed a stock firmware successfully it will not boot into twrp, flashing a stock firmware will install stock recovery, which means the stock firmware did not flash properly. Have you tried smart switch at all? Are you sure you have the correct firmware to flash through odin?

Yes I am sorry I didn't explained that. Atfer I tried to install stock ROM it got stuck, then smart switch didn't recognize the device but I manage to do the emergency recovery thing with model number and s/n but same thing it got stuck on the same installing system update screen. Download Samsung SmartSwitch and from the upper menu select Emergency Recovery Mode, put your phone in Download Mode and connect it to your computer, enter your model number and S/N when asked, and it will download and install latest firmware for your model.
Sorry, i haven't seen that you already tried that.

That means TWRP works and Fastboot/Download works. What is the actual Galaxy S6 model? Mine is G920F.
What custom ROM did you try?
What version of TWRP are you using? The wrong one can create issues.
Did you wipe the phone trough TWRP first? Twice? Including internal memory?

I've tried everything that i could find using google. Nothing has worked so far.
My friend has a S6 that was on 5.1.1 with root. It didnt received OTA updates so he tried to flash the new Nougat rom using ODIN. Alas the phone softbricked.
I can access download mode, but doesn't matter what firmware i try ODIN always end up failing. It's either sboot.bin, cm.bin so i think it has something to do with the bootloader? I'm not sure.
Tried to use SmartSwitch too but after it downloads the firmware it gives me an error and says to enter safe mode (????) so that's not working either.
Has anyone have an ideia of what to try next?
Thanks in advance.

Do you using latest Odin 3.12.7 and newest Samsung USB Drivers and latest right firmware for your model (the best way to get it is SamFirm)?

Download right newest firmware for your model, use SamFirm to get it. Then use Odin 3.12.7 with newest Samsung USB Drivers to full-flash stock ROM. Set also "Factory Reset" in Odin then START. If Odin shows you 'pass' then everything comes good.

Not necessary, just "Factory Reset" and that's it. I don't know why Odin shows you "pass
" and your phone still shows "system status: custom". Looks like Odin didn't flashing correctly.

Hi,
Thanks for the help. Watched the video and follow his steps...
But now suddenly the hidden.img flashes on the phone.
So I get a green pass by Odin.
But phone doesn't start!
Tried "auto reboot" on and also off.
It doesn't fail anymore.
Deleted the hidden.img file and flashed it afterwards.
I can't get him alive. I'm gonna try other official firmwares with an older android version. I don't get it.... Why only download mode? Not even recovery opens. #notgivingup
should I try to root it with cf root and try to get a recovery mode on it? This phone needs to be wiped I guess.
try to get into recovery , and give general reset....
or try to install twrp -to install a custom rom...
does not make downgrade to android , it can break

Could it be that I super hard bricked this phone by flashing everything over and over? I always think, as long the phone boots in download mode you're pretty safe.
Can't flash twrp, stock recovery.....
No official firmware is booting the phone up. I used to have the hidden.img problem but nog every firmware flash completes but still doesn't boot the phone.
Is there an order in which I need to try to flash? Like, try firmware first, then a recovery,.... Or first a bootloader and modem, then a firmware...
Oh God help me!
Thanks for the replies I already got!

Wow that link is a whole lot of Chinese for me. but I'll look into it this weekend! Thanks for keeping up with me. My phone still boots in download so I'm a step ahead. Gonna try flashing stock firmware without auto-boot ticked in Odin, then reset and restart phone manually in download mode and try to flash right bootloader. Should I go for the latest firmware or more like a 6.0.1 firmware?
firmware 7. is to good , why use it 6. ?

Well because I flashed like a couple of firmwares... And heard about downgrading is bad but... Yeah this isn't really downgrading.... Im just trying to wake up my friends phone. I will try to flash the latest firmware and then the bootloader right after it.
Hi guys,
So still no luck. Flashed latest stock firmware, tried flashing bootloader right after the successful flash, no luck. Tried rooting with cf-root, which completes but no custom recovery... Not booting. So yeah I'm on that download mode again. Anyone has some solutions I could try? Could I try converting a custom Rom zip to a tar file and flash it with Odin?
Thanks!
Hey guys
So I think i'm facing a similar problem on my s6 sm-g920f. When I flashed a stock rom 7.0 it passed with no errors, but when it tried to restart it just stays at Samsung logo. I too can't access recovery mode, only download mode. And when I try to do the "removing battery" method using volume down and power button it turns off but turns on right after and gets stuck on Samsung logo.

At least your phone is booting to the logo. I literally flashed everything! Recoveries, stock roms, tried rooting, bootloaders, stock rom with and without hidden.img...pit files.... if you find something... Let me know!
Huh am facing similar situation one s6 was in softbrick I I had odin mode successful but it showed G9280d, custom binary system official, I got a similar stock recovery then The device did boot to home screen but system wasnot stable everything stated crashing I did reboot that's when it could only stop at Android s6 then I did cross check to get it labled g920f flashing ends with either CM erorr or bootloader, in miracle it stopped at hidden or CM or pit in odin am clueless.
Man try holding V- ,home button and power key it will work just try harder. I faced it just today though mine is still.
