Easy peasy using adb or Wugfresh's toolkit.

If you need to return your device follow this guide. There is a tamper flag you may want to reset too. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47156064

[Q] S-On?

I'm wondering why setting security flag to 3 can brick the phone?
What should be done to avoid bricking it?
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e
It shouldn't brick it, didn't when I did it to get used to the steps

Then, why people brick their phone even though they follow the steps?
Just curious xD

[Q] Goldcards?

I have seen this work on older phones like the original myTouch 3g and the 3g Slide, so i was just wondering if this was possible to achieve at least root (no S-off) and if so would there be a way to get S-off?

No, we don't.
Some people do, but anyone who has the latest OTA can't gain root (at least until HTC fixes their unlocker tool).
I remember making a gold card 2 years ago for the original Mytouch for a friend. Using a hex editor. What does that actually do though?
I dont have S-Off cuz i was dumb and did the OTA before i rooted. I was just asking to add possibilities out there. Would it really be possible though, it be pretty nice if we got at least custom recover from it.

If your S-Off there's methods to get Clockwork back on.
HTC is going to FIX (Yes Fix) the OTA Update to allow S-Off, and Root. I called T-Mo, and HTC. My Uncle wanted his Doubleshot Rooted, but couldn't because he (Stupidly) updated.

Could someone post a thread for unrooting?

Anyone trying to warranty their device would love to have a sure method of unrooting, getting S-ON, basically making their phone completely out of the box status again.
Thanks

Working on it here. Adding pictures and such, for now a bare walkthrough.
S-OFF back to S-ON is impossible, no way to do it, one way trip.
Once you go from S-ON to S-OFF, you're stuck there. Period. No exceptions.
The closest you can get is to restore the stock image and be with the 1.44.0007 hboot that still says s-off.
I had an g2 and I sent in 2 phones both rooted and s-off with no problems. Has anyone ever heard of them giving flack for rooted devices?

They're instructed not to even "touch" them if they're modified in such way.
I guess it really depends on how nice the person who received it is.

[Q] Question about htcdev unlocking

Ive been rooting phones since the Eris and just wanted to make sure before I started on this phone I got it all clear. If I just root, can I still flash roms? I have seen people post unsecure bootimgs that need to be flashed first in fastboot before flashing the rom in recovery. Or do I have to unlock the device as well if I want to enjoy any of the roms that are out. Thanks in advance and btw, this phone freaking rocks. First phone I have ever had that I didnt have to rush home to root and I just came from the Nexus.
So far you still have to unlock using Htcdev to use any custom Rom.

You also need to unlock the device to root it.

Thanks. Good to know. So far I am OK without rooting+unlocking it but I know that will change as I love to theme and change **** up.

Yes. I agree with him. You still have to unlock to root at this point. Hopefully this will change at some point. (not that hacking you phone a different way breaks your warranty any less...).

[Q] Safe to ruu with aahk?

I recently obtained this phone from a friend and apparently he used AAHK to unlock and root the device. Now I am trying to get it working for myself and I am wondering if it is safe to run an RUU on a phone that has used AAHK.
P.S.: I hate having to make new threads but i did not see the answer I was looking for.

I am wanting to reset my daughters inspire from AOSPX ICS back to factory stock GB. I am S-Off so can I just relock the phone and run the RUU even though I am on ICS? The RUU I have is
htc_inspire4g_att_RUU_3.20.502.52_US
Thanks for any help.

I don't think you need to relock.
Worked like a charm. Thanks!
