So i already started messing with LCD Density
brought down to tablet UI 190 Nothing (crashes Touch Wiz)
also tride 170 samething just smaller icons and txt
brought back up to 320 and now touchwiz is permanetly messed and Tablet UI No where to be found
also tryed to bring up 2 360, 420, LULz, 540 <~~~ not good by any means
if you mess with density dont forget to install another Launcher if you forget to install a Launcher turn on easy mode it works on all densities
im woundering if they took out tablet ui in jellybean or if it is under a different density will look more into it

i am not going to have an argument here but this isnt developmental. Everyone who has had an Android in the last 3 years knows about changing the density. You can do it as easy as changing the build prop.
Just saying our threads are over booked with threads that are irrelevant.
Also you will not get tablet ui on this touchwhiz because it was not designed to be in tablet mode, Just like AOSP roms after 4.2. They removed that feature
Since 4.2 the tabletUI is gone from google-side. There is also no tabletUI in the new Samsung Tablet Note 10.1 (2014). All i know is Xperiacle is on the right way. Please be patient, he has a lot to do with mods/apps for our Note 3 and has a real life. If it´s possible he will do it. I am also a TabletUI freak and i can wait.

the ressources need to be added back in . its doable but very time consuming .. and the fact tablet ui doesnt exist anymore (even for tablets) makes it much harder to make that stupid smali language to work . form one version to another , I would also like to add that this mod isnt very popular , the last time ive done it (for the note 2) there was very small interest in the rom after it was released ...

I'm happy folks are discussing this. With the floating windows possible by short cuts or pen launcher there may not be as strong a desire for tablet ui but what I think would be good is to extract some from the apks form Note 10.1 (2014 edition) and get them to nicely fit and work on Note 3. There is a deodexed version of its rom and I extracted some of its apks. but the only one I got to work so far was MyFiles. Hope folks have more success than me!

i use the splanner and the tabletjobmanager from the P600 2014. I also tried the email and contacts. At the email the will start and i can see the app for a short moment and than FC. The contacts is half working like on the Note 1 on the begining, all is working, dialpad, protocols and favorits. But when i hit contacts - FC. I also tried the secMMS from the P601, the result was a bootloop and Odin . Tonight i´ll try the contacts from the N900T, i love the white.
Edit: What dpi are you using, also 240?

I am writting this on the Gen Forum since I am a new user.
I am having issues with the 4.4.2 ROM. I love how light weight and non-sense it is but the camera is broken in the 12-25-2013 build. Even though the title of the rom thread says it does work, it doesnt. I am using JB cam from Market but would love to have the default KK app work.
I am also having issue with battery. I did a full charge with the phone off and it was down 20-25% after just a few hours of use. I didnt know if reseting the batt stats would help or is that just BS?
I DO LOVE the fact that MAP (Message Access Protocol) for Bluetooth is working in the ROM! Finally, my car (2013 Nissan Altima) can send text messages for me! This was supported by Android after 4.4 according to Wikipedia. Now I don't have to buy a new phone!
MODS: IF you need to move this, please do. Just know that I am a new user so I have not gotten my 10 posts...
Thanks for the help in advanced!

With 29.12. build camera is working again
There isnt any completly 'stable' KitKat stock camera ported yet... but we are getting there! The meaning of 'camera is working' is that previously camera didnt work at all with the first kitkat ports! It took some weeks to finally port a 'working' solution that alloves to use the camera!
in the meantime you can try to flash this gapps camera : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2012857
primary this stock camera is working! Few glitches here and there but at least you can take pics or record video and you dont need to install 3rd party apps!
Try this, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.radcam.camera
Nexus KitKat cam on Google Store
The issue that I have now is that the camera only takes half a picture. its the strangest thing...

Thats what it looks like... its really odd... I have tried the stock camera after I just flashed the ROM (12/30/2013) after a FULL wipe of all partitions. I even tried the nexus camera as suggested and it failed in the same way
EDIT: Played around some more and the front camera is fine. Now the back camera is taking pics where there is a green bar in the middle and some there is slight distortion at the bottom. Then the grean bar is at the bottom... I am i the only unlucky one? haha
EDIT 2: Tried flashing the google camera and same thing. Is there something wrong with my phone?
Thanks for the help!
Did u Try latest build??
all camera Work
try a stock ROM to know if its only a ROM or an hardware issue
Get this ...
the panarama works, the globe view works, video works ..... yeah and now the camera works.... argh... dang it.... sorry... I will see if I can break it again... haha.
Thanks again
I think i got it figured out....
So it only happens with in the first couple load cycles after reboot.... then it mellows out or something....
anyway, I will keep an eye on it....
I have attached the image that I was talking about...
On 4.2.2 ROMS at first build of superXE ROM, it was the same thing, to solve that i remember we was able to instal FOCAL...
Maybe that's the way, try it
FOCAL (Beta)
It works on the latest [ROM][4.4.2][UNOFFICIAL]CarbonRom for Sensation[03 Jan]
I am on CM11 by android1234567 with Kernel 52 and for me the camera works fine.
Ok now I am totally lost.... haha. I just downloaded Focal and the camera looks great and the pictures are showing up in preview. Here is where is gets weird:
In the gallery, when I look at the picture in tile mode they all look fine and they have no errors. However, when I select one to view, I get blue shades, grey block, distortion, etc.
I am uploading the pics with this post.
I blurred a few things out that I did not want the whole world to see. Notice the purple in the bigger pic. When I look at the same pic on the computer it has the grey box and the purple what-ever-it-is.
I hope this helps in seeing my issue. And, yes, I have formatted my SD card a few times now. It is S-ON, HBOOT 1.27.00, bootloader unlocked.
Thank you for all your help!
use other app , for example snap camera
im using snap camera and it's perfect

It is great to hear that CM is coming to OPPO R7 Plus!
Current state is:
- RIL (telephony, SMS, mobile data) is working
- BT, GPS is working - camera is working
- sensors are working
- Wifi is semi-working
- audio is broken (no speaker, no headphones)
Great - will test definitely once wifi n audio is fixed
Is it official CM? Or unofficial?
This is fantastic. I have the Oppo r7 plusm. Are there plans for all three variants? How soon would this be released?
I am willing to do test builds on my oppp r7 plusm. PM me if you need any beta testers.
News about it?
I too would be interested in this. Just looked on Cyanogenmod website and there is no official roms. Suppose they will come with time.

Looking forward to this
As a quick update:
- Audio is working now, there's only minor crackling noise when playing notification sounds in deep sleep
- Wifi is working, it's a bit unstable though (sporadically loses connection)
- fingerprint sensor is working
Only blocker for official nightlies that I can see is that we need to fix the SELinux policies.

Dear Maniac,
Thanks for this good news. I just wanted to ask you how to "Unlock Bootloader" to be able to install a custom ROM.
Thanks.
At least on my unit the bootloader came unlocked. If it doesn't, it should work like on a Nexus by running 'fastboot oem unlock'.
BTW, we fixed SELinux today; I expect nightlies to start in the next few days.

Hi dev..
Nice to see such great progress here.
As I can see, you committed fully working fingerprint sensor HAL into cm.
I am not a dev, but just curios that how you managed this ?
AFAIK, fingerprint and Laser autofocus things are closed source by OEMs., thats why lots of devices lacking this in CM like OnePlus 2.
So, how ?
I surprised.

The fortunate thing is that the code actually talking to the fingerprint sensor runs in the trust zone, thus I 'only' needed to trace and analyze the communication between the stock ROM and the fingerprint trustzone app. This turned out to be manageable, and after understanding that protocol, implementing the HAL was pretty straightforward. Doing something similar should entirely be possible for most devices that do fingerprint management in the trustzone; unfortunately there are a number of devices with fingerprint sensor (especially the early ones) which don't do it in the trustzone, thus are mostly out of luck. I had an Oppo N3 before the R7 Plus and decided not even to start working on a fingerprint HAL for it due to the sheer complexity of the task.
Great that you guys managed to get the fingerprint sensor fully working. So as far as you guys have updated the status of this build, the only issues are unstable WiFi and cracking sound in notifications when in deep sleep? That's amazing for a very first release! Congrats!
Hello everyone,
i have currently the issue that my device sometimes doesn't recognize a second/third touch input. This happens for example in some racing games like Trials Frontier or GTA 3. While i press the gas pedal other inputs are sometimes not recognized which leads to an unplayable game.
I currently use smiui 5.11.19 and i am not sure if that's the reason. Same problem with the developer rom.
Does anyone else face the same problem and knows an answer?
I see that issue on the dev roms and on the mokee rom too. Never tested the stable chinese rom, so I don't know if there are any differences regarding the drivers/kernel between that version and all others.
But yeah, simply typing on this device can become infurating because of the touch/multitouch issues.

I've tried Cyanogenmod and the problem also occured there. Something is not working correctly on the software site.
I used the touchscreen test which can be found by pressing multiple times on kernel version in about phone. With one finger on the screen everything works fine and the border is correctly recognized by the phone. With multitouch you can see that a small area at every border is not reachable. Maybe i try if the problem occurs in the stable rom. Very weird... :silly:
Yes, I also have this problem along the sides of screen. It's unplayable in games, here the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPC7Z2ploxc

The weird thing is that a buddy of me has huawei where i could produce the same problem with multitouch in the test(can't reach the border of the screen by touch) but gaming and all multitouch gestures work flawless. It would be nice if this could be patched somehow...
I dont have this Problem
How many times are you going to post this topic? Maybe something is wrong with your digitizer. Mine works fine.
I have the same pb. Probably hardware related if not everybody has it. I think I recall the Mi4c is sold with 3 different versions of the screen, so it could be they use different hardware for touch recognition as well. Let's hope there is a software fix, but I am not very confident over this...

Hey guys, I'm planning to buy this phone because I found a great deal and I really love the phone after watching reviews. But I'd like to have some advice. What are your experiences with the device? My main concerns are display, camera and battery. Also, I noticed It doesn't have much support from devs, which is very important to me. I saw there's a cm12 ROM. How does it work? Is it smooth? Bugs? Also any chance of getting cm13?
Thank you guys, I'd really appreciate some help!!

This is my honest opinion coming from a Nexus 6 (RIP)
This phone is actually not bad, battery life is good, camera is good to me in good lighting.
Display is excellent in my opinion.
One, two or three Roms is better than none.
CM is pretty stable and smooth for daily use, just make sure you follow the install instructions.
But just like any Roms out there, there's always gonna be bugs lol
There will be Cm13 as soon a few minor bugs has been fix.
No need to move on quick without taking care of those first that way we'll have a better experience on Marshmallow
Hope that helps.

Thanks for your reply. I think the hardware is ok, I come from a Galaxy S3 so I don't expect too much from it. What I really love is the processor and RAM. But the most important to me is being able to run cyanogenmod. So there is no limitation in terms of rom development? Lack of sources or something? And by bugs I meant important bugs like nfc not working etc.
Thank you again!!

Well,sources arent a problem!
And the current bug is the fact that the phone isnt "reversible" anymore on CM(only one side-the upper one-can be used for calls),and that the dual sim variant has to settle with using only one sim(for now).
As for the roms, there are CM,Vanir and AICP,and I am working on bringing even more roms.
But I suggest buying this device only if you are planning on buying the 5.5 inch variant, and not the 4.7 inch one.
I am glad roms work without major issues. I'd even try to build some if it's not too difficult for me(I'm a begginer dev). And yeah, I bought the 5.5 variant, waiting for it to arrive. I think the phone is great, the only downside I find is the video recording. Anyway I don't use that too much.
i got 6039
display, speakers, sound on headphones, performance, call sound quality - verry good
camera is good on sunny days. indoors hdr a little help. but there is one small fault - volume microphone. its too quiet from videos or dictaphone . does not apply to calls.
Screen resolution, speakers and ease of use is great on this device.
Can be a little laggy, but not too bad. For $200, it's a great deal for the money. It's no Samsung G6 or an iPhone 6, but it'll hang with all the other mid range phones.
Just be sure to be careful of the glass screen, is vulnerable to crack and a repair will set you back $100 unless you can fix it yourself.
I can only recommended it if you plan to install CM or other custom ROM. Stock ROM lags. Make sure you also flash the camera MOD from @Androidcid. Phone has band 12 but not sure that it works when used on T-Mobile.

I don't know is it just the 5.5" variant, but I've seen few devices running on the same SoC and they stutter way more than my 4,7" variant on the SD 410. So if you already unsure if you should get one,get the smaller one. The display is good, the sound is amazing and the camera is meh, it gets the job done. As for the battery, I usually get 4h and 30min SOT,when it hits under 20% .
Thank you guys, I already have the 5.5 variant on my hand and I have to say it's awesome, the display is great, and it's super light for its size. I installed NOVA launcher and the device is pretty smooth. But I'm really disappointed with the camera, it's just awful. I'm really struggling to get any detail on people's face even with flash. Does it also happen to you guys?
In my opinion the camera is quite correct for the price. I think the word "awful" is a bit exaggerated.

Funny, I switched to Nexus 6, lots of good deals of late ($260 64GB), & of course, v6.0.1 & many cusom roms. I've relegated this phone to kid's multimedia. Night & day speed difference.

I don't know if it's because I updated the firmware, but now the camera performs much better than when I first tested it. This is an awesome device!
BTW, do you know if I can take RAW pictures somehow?
I see there are many variants of this device. Mine is 6045Y. What is the difference between them?
For the camera : yes since the update it performs much better.
For the raw pictures : I don't know, I'm an "awful" photographer.
