[Q] Internal Damage?

I dropped the Nexus S down a few steps, and there are no scratches or dents.
The camera works fine, and nothing rattles when I shake it.
Are there any other internal damage issues that I should be worried about?

How dare you. The main thing you should be worried about is your nexus running off to a new owner. Lol.

I throw mine around my store all day with my seidio case just to show the durability and sell some extra cases. Haven't had any issues yet and it really takes a beating. I'm talking literally throwing it across our sprint store.

Edit: to the Original Poster, just fyi, everything attached to the motherboard will survive quite severe shocks. Usually the screen will break before anything else. You may have seen phones with shattered LCD screens that are in otherwise perfectly functioning order

I think it come with the frame, as pic.

I ordered mine from here on friday night, came yesterday morning with the free shipping option! I was happy on how fast it came, I Installed last night and it has the digitizer w/ the side bezel/housing(whatever you wanna call it) with volume+power buttons. This one does NOT come with the LG branding btw:/

Thank you guys so much for posting these helpful links, I've been looking all over trying to find a decent price for front white digitizer. People on ebay are selling it for 100 bucks and up. I don't think it should cost that much if the black ones are about 40-50.

Why is it so expensive. You can replace the iphone 4/4s digitizer with screen for $24-$30 (-_-)

I ordered this Friday the 18th of may. It was around $70. It should be here in 12 days, I'll keep everyone posted.

Update : almost a month later and no housing. I emailed the company and they are now refunding me because there are out of stock. Guess if I didn't email them they would of kept my money.

I got my digitizer for about 50, but that was a long time ago.

So how's the new stuff, mustang? Or Tim?

I was just about to post this and a few questions. Glad I looked around before opening a new thread. I did send them an email about the bezel/casing, if it is included. If any one could translate and let me know.
Update: very impressed with immediate response. Did an excellent job In Answering my question even with the language barrier. And yes item is digitizer and housing. I believe total after tax and delivery was around 62 to 65 $ (converted from euro)

Markyzz says good but from my own experience doing screen replacements is a thing that must be usually done by professional people or at least people with tools. There's always something that can go wrong. And first of all is the electrostatic discharge that can fry some sensitive components inside phone.

I replace screens all the time its not that hard it just takes paitents. once you have done one you can do pretty much any phone screen. Check out youtube for a video on screen replacement for the Thrill or O3D........... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BxKozJEY2RE

They say "Corning Gorilla Glass"

It has gorilla glass. It is listed even on the official company site which has all the gorilla glass embeded devices... Gorilla glass is not breakproof only scratchproof and this only to some extend.

look at ebay, there are many complete packs for replaceing the display, including tools for opening the phone.

I have yellow spots on my screen, should I replace my display or there is some other solution, is there anyone who solve this and how? While I was using Promethius ROM with WiFi on phone gets hot and yellow spots are totaly visible like the screen stating to burn. Good one with Gorilla and banana.

Do you have warranty for your phone?
I would try flashing back to stock, unroot and call LG support.

Screen replacement

i just got my screen replacement for my phone and it didnt come with any adhesive, should i see how it feels without the adhesive or just send it in to HTC to fix it

i have been watching a lot of teardowns and they are saying there is no way to replace just the glass, you have to purchase a whole new LCD, but they are selling just screens on ebay so i dont know if it will work

I don't know but by the looks of our hoX..its difficult to separate the glass from the digitizer..i tried it with my friend's HoX and i already tried heating it but it wouldn't separate..

it is extremely difficult if not impossible to separate the glass from the lcd on our screens unfortunately without damaging one or both of the components. Don't get me wrong, I've seen it been done, but it's very risky. I also dont advise using just any adhesive when dealing with our phones. use the suggested 3m adhesive when replacing the lcd+screen, I think its fairly cheap now. I used some crazy glue I bought at the store and it turned out damaging my screen a bit, so a small strip across the screen didn't recognize touch, which was very annoying. Gonna be replacing it again very soon.

[Q] replacing the bezel

just bought this phone used, but the bezel is so damaged that it's hard for me to even look at the phone.
i wonder if there's an easy way of replacing the bezel? im not sure i want to transplant the entire screen on the kit i bought, since it seems like the glass breaks easily.

You might be able to find some rear housing replacement for the phone but that all depends on if you want to dissect the phone as well.

I read the 1st post and thought I had posted it for a second. Exact same thing happened to me. I was not going to keep it but a case will hide it and it's a $400 phone new. My wife isn't going to let me spend that much on a phone so I decided to keep it.

I have a bezel and assembly without the glass sitting on a shelf in my office. Had a shattered screen and the replacement is a one-piece assembly as was mentioned. I removed the glass and LCD and have a good bezel with the 'touchpad' buttons still in place. Could let it go....if you can use it.
