This was built for the xt926, however quite a few users have flashed it onto the xt925 and reported it working. As always, flash at your own risk!

Yep, I read that a while ago, but when I used it and made a backup, this not restored, I was wrong. I thought they had already taken another compatible version. :B Thanks!

[Q] What does grfs.img contain?

Hey guys I recently messed up my phone and tried flashing the stock Indian rom ("5.5.1-EDEM-27-SEARET_cfc.xml.zip" which you get following http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1616305) using RSD Lite.
everything used to go well until it gets to flashing the grfs.img (it loads system.img and many others OK) - it always errors out.
so I edited the xml file and DELETED the part (instruction) to flash grfs.img..
(<step operation="flash" partition="webtop" filename="grfs.img" MD5="9081d7d3b36cca3ed88c9d8604a62a0d" />)
well this time it gave no errors and flashed everything smoothly... and everything I have tried (and use everyday) work without any errors...
Now, Since grfs.img is quite a huge file (1.3GB) I wanted to know what it contains and the features I won't have on my phone now...
If its just webtop and lapdock stuff that I wont have, its fine as I don't use them and don't have any plans of using them.. however if it affects the hdmi port.. I will have to include that file and try something else..
Did you flash an Indian fzx on your AT&T Atrix 2?

Yep, it's webtop.
Before you flashed the fxz, are you sure that you were on the retail Indian firmware? There's couple other firmwares in that same region that have different webtops, so you might have flashed a slightly different firmware. Everything should still work though.

I always skip it to. it is huge and shouldn't ever get screwed up. I don't use it anyways, so who cares if it is gone or broken!

Go to http://www.androidsu.com and download the Superuser-3.0.7.zip file, flash that in ClockworkMod recovery. Done. Simple as that.
I think the universal root method should still work fine. I flashed the single zip through CWM recovery awhile back on 4.0.3 without issue, so I doubt you'd have trouble with 4.0.4 (unless something major changed).
Or just install push recovery image thru adb and install custom android 4.0.4 rom already rooted by team eos...

Yeah, I like the TeamEOS flavor of ICS. I can't guarantee it working on your Brazilian xoom, however, if you can use it, it is a great rom. It provides a very stock experience but with many more features that compliment Android 4.0.4 without bloat. There are both nightlies and stable versions, both get updated (when you flash newer versions in recovery) so you won't miss out on any new features. And yes, it is rooted for you.
Of course, there are plenty of other equally great roms from other great developers to try out in case TeamEOS's rom doesn't fit your needs (or if you get flashing-fever).
Just saying, I am not to be held responsible for any damage (yes, there are risks) that happens to anything because of this post.
Hope that helped.
Cheers
It does work on Brazilian xoom. Team EOS rocks.

Oh, if that's the case and if the OP is still interested, unlocking the bootloader, flashing solarnz's recovery and flashing a pre-rooted rom (like EOS) might be the way to go. It also might be worth mentioning that rooting, unlocking the bootloader, and certainly flashing a new rom would probably *void* the warranty on the Xoom.
Just for good measure, I am not to be held responsible for any damage (yes, there are risks) that happens to anything because of this post.
Please read this procedure carefully the one I have shared on xda to root and flash custom ICS ROM on MZ601. The only difference in your case is to download and flash the rom for MZ604.

ROM link for MZ604 is:

[Q] Installed update....no root!

I went back to stock. Hit the wrong button and installed the update. Now I am not rooted and hate everything!!! Any idea how long before I can root this poor phone so I don't hate everything about it and on it?:crying:
There's a good chance there won't be another exploit found. This Is thy you have to protect root.

There is talk of a method to partially flash back to previous build using rsd, root, then update again over on droidrzr.com I will try to find it and link it for you.

Rsd lite is a Motorola program used to flash xml files.
I was wrong, it wasn't droidrzr.com, it was right here on xda.

realbbb is a very sharp guy and former Bionic owner who went through all of the "Cheescake" leaked update issues we had with that device while Motorola was struggling with the baseband firmware in the early rollout of VZW's LTE network.
This workaround is a version of the method we used when you got stuck on a non upgradeable test leak and had to revert to a prior version to move forward.
It is exactly the sort of creative thinking that is required in situations like this when you find yourself stuck by unforeseen circumstances.
This can easily and safely be tested by anyone who is currently on the update and has lost root, since the full XML.zip was released shortly after the update went live last week.

Droid Razr HD bootloader (9.18.94)

Hey guys, I have a Motorola Droid Razr HD, 9.18.94.XT926.
Recently there was found an exploit for this version to gain root access. So I did it (using method for samsung galaxy s3, which i found here). Now I do have root access, but I'm interested if I can install custom roms, for example cyanogenmod. As far as I know it needs unlocked bootloader. I'm not sure if my bootloader is unlocked or not, so I cant risk just following instructions from cyanogenmod's website.
So, my question is, how do i check if bootloader is unlocked or not, and if it's not, how do I unlock it, given that when downloading Android SDK from motorola website, where I tried to unblock bootloader, I cant install it, archive is broken or something. Thanks in advance (Sorry for the bad English)
I you're on .94 and never unlocked, you won't be able to now. To check, boot into AP Fastboot and see if says locked or unlocked.

When you "patch" your phone with a pre may 24 build motherboard, or ask vzw for a FRU with the same build date.

Look up "safe-root."
So I read up on it...If I'm not horribly mistaken(which is very possible) that root only works for android 4.2 and 4.3 which means that I'd need the OTA for 9.30.1 which my droid doesn't think I need.

.94 and .1 are the same update, just different designations. The HD has never made it past 4.1 in stock form yet, so there is no 4.2 or 4.3. Safe Root will work on your system version.

I have an XT926 Maxx HD. Stock. Locked bootloader.
Three days ago, I rooted, installed Safestrap and ROM'd with Nexesque v3.6. All using instructions here on XDA. Root and Safestrap were simple. Getting the ROM loaded was a bit of a challenge, but it worked fine, except for a google.process.gaaps failure message upon rebooting each time. But it doesn't seem to affect anything. But other than that, runs quite quick. Tried RageHD and it didn't work for me at all. Could just be my phone.

I have all ready tried there only one I have seen and tested is rogers. The only reason I am looking for it is that I need to update to kitkat and get the 4.4 boot loader so I can get the latest version of CyanogenMod. any other way to do it would work to but It needs to be for the XT925 Not the XT926.

I have flashed CWM fist and tried to install CM12 but it failed and displays that I need 4.4 bootloader, which I found out while searching that I need to install kitkat fido update first but I installed CWM before doing the up date and now I am unable to get 4.4 bootloader without removing CWM and from what I can find I need to flash the stock fido rom in order to remove CWM.
Just flash and then OTA update to 4.4.2 from http://web.archive.org/web/20130817...12.2_CANADA_VANQJBLTEFRCI_P004_CFC_fb.xml.zip
Rogers or Fido, it shouldn't matter.

You're flashing the wrong one. There is a jbbl version for your device for CM12. Even though i'm on an AHD, i'm running your device's CM12 (925's CM came out first and i've been running it since its release)
