It is SIM Unlocked if that is what you are asking. You still need to make sure it supports the proper cellular bands for your carrier.

Sorry for my bad english

it should be unlocked.

Phone comes with everything unlocked.

Don't worry about it being unlocked man, you just need to worry about the bands. If your carrier is on 900 the US version should be fine but here is a chart for you to look at. http://www.extremetech.com/extreme/170166-nexus-5-excellent-global-coverage-perplexing-lte-support

thank you all !

[Q] Can Malaysian use Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile, at&t smartphones?

Hello, I'm from Malaysia. Sorry if this question is so noob, i really don't know. I would like to buy a smartphones from here. It seems that a lot of them come from US sellers, and the smartphones like Samsung, HTC, Motorola and others comes by Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile and at&t. So, i am wondering can i use this types of phones in Malaysia?
Any explanation will be appreciated!
Not sure if i can ask this in the marketplace. Sorry.
You can only use AT&T or T-Mobile because they are GSM, but the phones have to be unlocked. Unlocked codes can be purchased online for like $20. Sprint and verizon use CDMA which is not supported overseas.
Thanks for the answer. So, it means that there are no other ways for me to get the Sprint or Verizon version unlocked? Is it only T-mobile and at&t or there are more? And, is it hard or too complicated for sellers from US to ship the phone that i will buy to Malaysia?
Thank you.

Ammo90, the answer is yes and no. If u into modding ur smartphone, u can flash those phone with custom GSM roms. but if u just wanna buy and use it, the chances is slim. Malaysia don't have CDMA coverage yet. and also, Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T use their own branded rom for each phone.
what phone and budget do u expect?

The phone will not be the issue because I'm open to what are available but most of them comes from US as you can see in the marketplace, so i just want to know if we can use them.

hm... most likely u need to use custom ROMs in order to use Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T smartphones. that's it, I think... try avoid those that didn't use SIM card. look like a hassle to me.

Galaxy S Relay 4G: Work in Europe?

I live in Italy and correctly use a Motorola Droid 4 Verizon.
I would like to buy a Samsung S Relay 4G but I do not know if this also works with the SIM and European networks.
Can you tell me if it works?
Thanks a lot.

Hi neighbour, yes it works. I have mine from Canada. the phone is penta-band that works also in Europe. You may need to unlock the SIM when you buy it from the US.

No, he means SIM unlock, while I meant if you buy it from Canada for example, it is mainly already unlocked, so was mine. US ones are locked by standard.
When you have one with sim locked, you can unlock it from unlocking websites or do it by yourself as the instructions here on the forum
All Relays come locked from the factory to only work on the t-mobile network. You can unlock them for free, though I hear you may have to start with the old firmware to do so, and then update it once you're done. That's still not hard, we have the files on this forum to flash the old firmware.
i have mine from canadagsm.ca and it was (brandnew but) unlocked already. thats why I thought in Canada it is mainly unlocked in general. But I think I also read that all the phones from canadagsm are unlocked.
This phone is a t-mobile exclusive, so they all come locked from the factory. That doesn't mean there aren't places which buy them new, unlock them, and then re-sell them. It just means that Canada isn't a magical country where phones aren't locked. Sadly.
Works well in France.

Has anyone verified if UMTS/900Mhz is supported? I've googled this and there are conflicting information:
Sites that say UMTS/900MHz is supported:
http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=3791
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2206523
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_Relay_4G
http://www.canadagsm.ca/products-Samsung_Galaxy_S_Relay_4G_T699_Penta_Band
And then sites that say it isn't:
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones/SGH-T699DABTMB-specs
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s_relay_4g_t699-4914.php
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2482670
What's the conclusion? If the phone is locked into T-Mobile's network, then it doesn't support and if it's unlocked then it supports? Or culd it be that stock ROM doesn't support UMTS/900MHz but installing some custom ROM enables it? ... Or could there be multiple variants of this phone?
PS. Could someone list all supported UMTS frequencies from unlocked T699:
Type "phone number": *#*#197328640#*#*
Then it should open menu, choose following entry: "[x] UMTS..."
Then it lists all supported UMTS frequencies, like this: http://www.howardforums.com/attachme...2&d=1280324484 (screenshot isn't from T699)
I took this guide from here: http://androidforums.com/samsung-gal...-galaxy-s.html

Google Nexus 5 brought from Google Play in Canada does not work in India

Hi,
I have recently brought Google Nexus 5 from Google Play in Canada and it work with any carrier in Canada. Now, I am on vacation in India and wanted to use with the carrier in India and it does not work. I check with some one and they told me that I need to unlock but I have brought from Google Play and this is unlocked version and should work with any carrier. Moreover, there are others who are using the Google Nexus 5 and with the same carrier to which I am trying; so I am confused is that my mobile is locked or I am missing some settings?
Thanks & Regards,
Hiren.

This phone is 100% carrier unlocked as stated before in numerous threads. It doesn't matter where you buy it, it will always be carrier unlocked!
If you said that other users have reported using the Nexus 5 with the same carrier as the one you are trying to use in India then its one of 2 things that may cause it not to work. Either they are using the D821 model or the D820 (At&t, Sprint, T-Mobile) model or it can be that you forgot to setup your APN to work for the new carrier.

Thanks for your quick response.
They are using D821 model while I have D820. In this case, If I setup APN with the same carrier, would it work or I need to do something else?
Thanks & Regards,
Hiren.

OK, first you should try changing the APN setting for the carrier, if that doesn't work then find out what 3g/LTE bands the carrier support and then look up what 3g/LTE bands the D820 supports and you'll quickly have your answer. http://www.phonearena.com/phones/Google-Nexus-5_id8148

First thought was don't buy it. Can you post a link to the sale or copy the url so we can look at it?
Verizon Pixels are carrier unlocked for use anywhere in the world. I don't know if the bands support where you are, but it'll work with non VZW sim cards.
