EVO LTE frozen on splash screen - General Questions and Answers

I flashed the new Sense 5 custom rom and it was running great, I installed the volume rocker mod to wake the screen because my power button takes a lot of pressure to work and when I was rebooting from that install I am stuck on the htc one splash screen and nothing works. No combination of buttons makes the phone respond, tried holding the power button for 10 seconds, power button and volume down, no response. My computer beeps when I plug it in but nothing comes up. Any help?

flashed updated kernel, now stuck at boot

Hey guys this is my first post.
I'm running Codename 3.6.0 and just flashed AirKernel #224 (previously had #211) and ever since I've been stuck at boot. The Google logo appears, then the soft touch keys light up, then the Google logo dissappears and the keys remain lit with a black screen. The Nexus "X" doesn't show up. My power button is broken and I have been using a combination of volume rocker wake and button remapper to wake/sleep my phone. The power button has been shorted, the common failure on a Nexus S, so fastboot doesn't work, and I have no way of getting into recovery. When I run "adb devices" my phone doesn't show up.
There must be a way to fix this, any suggestions?

my power button is broken too(since last august 2011, lol), but it acts like its pressed sometimes. i pull out the battery then put it in when plugged in via usb. i press volume down as i put in the battery and it boots right into the bootloader. then i flick the back of the phone near the power button and it lets me select recovery with the volume rocker. then i flick the back of the phone again to chose recovery.

Decided to scrap my Nexus S, have had many technical problems with it lately, I think it's time to let it go.

[Q] How to boot to Hboot to recover

My HOX is just rebooting over and over I did boot loader unlock with the one all in one app and then flashed a kernel for CM10. I got the boot.img from the zip file as the directions said but now it just boots to HTC screen with red letters then reboots again.
If I could get it to power off and then boot to recovery I could try to flash another ROM or if I could boot to Hboot could try another kernel flash but nothing I do seem to make any difference it just keeps rebooting to HTC screen with red letters saying this is for development purposes.
I tried holding the down volume and power to reset it but does not work tried holding up volume and power to get to Hboot but nothing changes. As long as I hold down the power button it says off but one I let go it comes back on after a few second but volume up does nothing.
Any suggestions?
I got into recovery finally hold down just the volume down with out pressing power
Glad you got it sorted out. For the future, and for benefit of other users, I point out the following: Instances of not being able to get into bootloader are almost always just not knowing the proper button sequence.
If the phone is stuck with screen on, hold and press the power button for 5 seconds or so, until the capacity button flash, then the screen turns off (this should work in virtually all circumstances as long as the screen is on). The moment the screen goes dark, press and hold volume down, and don't let go until the white bootloader screen comes up.
If the phone is "stuck" on, you might be able to press and hold vol down before, or the same time you press power button (then as described above, keep holding vol down until hboot comes up). But if the phone is booted, the timing of this method can be a bit tricky. Press it too soon, and it has the effect of making the volume go down, then to vibrate, instead of the desired effect. Press it too late, and it will probably boot into Safe Mode. But as long as you start holding vol down when the screen is black (before the white HTC boot splash) you should have it right.
If the phone is fully powered off, press volume down, keep holding it. Press the power button for about 3 seconds (don't need to hold it until the capacitive buttons flash). Then release power, don't release vol down yet, until the white bootloader screen comes up. This will only work if "Fast boot" is not selected in Settings>Power.
Many people seem to think you press and release the power button and vol down a the same time, which will only cause you to boot normally, or in Safe Mode, or in your case the boot splash.

[Q] Cant get to the Bootloader screen

I have an At&t HOXL but I cant get to the bootloader screen when i press and hold the volume down and power button the screen flashes three time and then nothing happens and when i release the keys the phone boots up normally I dnt know what is goin on do i have a defective set?
One more thing i tried adb command to get to the bootloader and it worked fine so what should i do now?
Thanks in advance
First of hold the power button Down until the capacitive buttons flash five times and the screen turns off. Wait 5 seconds. Then while holding volume down press the power button for 1-2 seconds but keep holding volume down until it boots into bootloader

[Q] Volume down=up. volume up,power button unresponsive in hboot

Fastboot is disabled.
So I have two sensations, one started acting up with the volume button. One day I noticed the volume up button no longer respond, went to bootloader via volume down+power. Volume up still doesnt's work, volume down moves the cursor "up" and power still work in bootloader.
Some days later, I can't get into bootloader anymore, volume down and power just normal boots, volume up and power normal boots as well. At this point, to get into bootloader I have to use 4ext app. So i get into bootloader, volume up still doesnt work, volume down still move cursor up, and now power button doesn't work!! SO i have to take out the battery to turn off the phone (in bootloader). In normal android, power button still works, just not volume up.
So I took apart both phones and swapped the volume button from each one. Suddenly I can use the volume again on both phones, can boot into bootloader OK.
Like a week later, the problem started happening again to the other phone with the "bad" volume button (including the power button, which I did not switch)
First phone is running venom 2.00, second phone is running ARHD 7.3
Anyone has ANY idea what's going on?
