[Q] How to boot to Hboot to recover - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

My HOX is just rebooting over and over I did boot loader unlock with the one all in one app and then flashed a kernel for CM10. I got the boot.img from the zip file as the directions said but now it just boots to HTC screen with red letters then reboots again.
If I could get it to power off and then boot to recovery I could try to flash another ROM or if I could boot to Hboot could try another kernel flash but nothing I do seem to make any difference it just keeps rebooting to HTC screen with red letters saying this is for development purposes.
I tried holding the down volume and power to reset it but does not work tried holding up volume and power to get to Hboot but nothing changes. As long as I hold down the power button it says off but one I let go it comes back on after a few second but volume up does nothing.
Any suggestions?
I got into recovery finally hold down just the volume down with out pressing power

Glad you got it sorted out. For the future, and for benefit of other users, I point out the following: Instances of not being able to get into bootloader are almost always just not knowing the proper button sequence.
If the phone is stuck with screen on, hold and press the power button for 5 seconds or so, until the capacity button flash, then the screen turns off (this should work in virtually all circumstances as long as the screen is on). The moment the screen goes dark, press and hold volume down, and don't let go until the white bootloader screen comes up.
If the phone is "stuck" on, you might be able to press and hold vol down before, or the same time you press power button (then as described above, keep holding vol down until hboot comes up). But if the phone is booted, the timing of this method can be a bit tricky. Press it too soon, and it has the effect of making the volume go down, then to vibrate, instead of the desired effect. Press it too late, and it will probably boot into Safe Mode. But as long as you start holding vol down when the screen is black (before the white HTC boot splash) you should have it right.
If the phone is fully powered off, press volume down, keep holding it. Press the power button for about 3 seconds (don't need to hold it until the capacitive buttons flash). Then release power, don't release vol down yet, until the white bootloader screen comes up. This will only work if "Fast boot" is not selected in Settings>Power.
Many people seem to think you press and release the power button and vol down a the same time, which will only cause you to boot normally, or in Safe Mode, or in your case the boot splash.

HTC ONE S keep rebooting all the time! Help :<

My phone keeps rebooting all the time. It goes up to the logo screens and the shut downs and reboots again ad infinitum :// Is there any fix for this? Phone is not rooted or anything. This blows so much im out of the country for 2 weeks so i cant get it fixed :///
Hold Power button, all screen buttons will flash for about ten secs. Release, phone should turn off phone.
Hold power and volume down. That should take you into your bootloader menu.
Select "reset". This will wipe your SDcard.
should work on your stock device but try at your own risk. Just remember, google is your friend.
echo en Android
Yeah, just Power-On button + Vol - and then Factory Set. Use Vol+/Vol- to navigate in the menu and power button to select. :good:

Shortcut keys combos to boot into recovery, broader etc.

Sorry if I am duplicating but couldn't find it anywhere.

Bootloader = power + volume down.
Select recovery from bootloader.

Or if it's off, just press power and release and right away press and hold volume down until it boots into bootloader.

The bootloader button combo, while technically correct, is a bit incomplete, and in my opinion one of the primary reasons folks have trouble getting into bootloader (as it gets described this way quite often). It leads some people into believing you are supposed to press both simultaneously, and release them, which will absolutely not get you into bootloader.
What exactly works and doesn't work varies a bit by the condition: phone is fully booted, stuck on boot screen, off, "Fast boot" is selected in Settings>Power on Sense ROMs (the deep sleep power function, not the adb/fastboot function). But the following always works, AFAIK:
Hold down the power button until the capacitive buttons flash several times and the phone powers off. While the screen is off, press and hold the vol down button. DO NOT let go of vol down until the white bootloader screen comes up. If the phone boots normally, or boots into SAFE MODE (looks like normal boot, but SAFE MODE in all 4 corners of the screen, and no 3rd party apps) then you pressed the vol down button too late. You can actually press vol down during, or even before pressing the power button. But the important thing, is NOT to let go of vol down until you get into bootloader.
For recovery, there is no button combo that boots the phone directly into recovery. You must select it from bootloader, or an alternate means (such as fastboot command). But there is not button combo for recovery as there is on some other phones.
Vol UP and power puts the phone in Qualcomm download mode, which I do not believe has any useful application for us users. So I would advise staying away from it.

[Q] Volume Down + Power button doesn't work

Pretty self explanatory post. I'm trying to boot my phone into bootloader mode, but holding power and volume down just reboots it normally.
I have a AT&T HTC One X. Any ideas?
It's a timing issue. There are two ways you can do it.
While device is switched on
Hold the volume down button, then hold the power button (so you're holding them together), the button lights will start to flash, they'll stop flashing and the screen will go blank, after a couple of seconds let go of the power button but continue to hold the volume down button until the phone boots into the bootloader.

It's very important to not let go of the power button until you reach the bootloader with either of those methods.

I learned that the hard way. Lol

This is almost always a matter of pilot error. Unless the phone is bricked, or an actual physical malfunction of the vol button, it will always be able to go to bootloader. Just follow timmaaa's suggestion above. The primary error, is that folks don't realize you are supposed to let go of the power button but keep holding vol down. Understandable, since the usual direction is just to "press power and vol down".

STOCK Update Help!

After realizing how much crud I had to do in order to unlock the bootloader and install the recovery and so on for this device. I decided not to and went for the AT&T Over The Air update.
I went to the settings, just like most phones these days, and did the "Check System Update" and what not, and after it did everything it needed to do, (Downloading, Installing, Restarting A Million Times) it finally ended up in a complete bootloop.
I've tried Factory Resetting.
I've tried using Zune.
I've even tried contacting AT&T and HTC, but no one will respond to me.
Can someone please help???
*No, I do not have warranty. It's an old phone I tried playing around with and obviously failed.*
What are your bootloader details? To boot into the bootloader there are two methods.
With phone powered on
Hold the volume down button, then hold the power button (so you're holding both buttons together), the button lights will start to flash, they will stop flashing and the screen will go blank, after a couple of seconds let go of the power button but continue to hold the volume down button until you reach the white screen with text, this is your bootloader.
With phone powered off
Hold the volume down button, then hold the power button (so you're holding both buttons together), after a couple of seconds let go of the power button but continue to hold the volume down button until you reach the white screen with text, this is your bootloader.
Please post the first five lines.

Honor 8 boot loop - no fastboot no erecovery no dload - is it dead?

I think my phone has gone forever, but I'd like to check here if someone can save it.
I've been using this phone for 3 years, no changes besides OTA updates. Suddenly, screen froze and I held POWER button until it turned off. Then it rebooted and showed honor powered by android in blue background. It shows only that screen for a minute or so and then reboot again. If I hold POWER button, it'll reboot again (it won't turn off). The only combination of keys that produces different result is combo of VOL UP + VOL DOWN + POWER, which will turn screen black, then vibrate and then turn off (if I release keys before it vibrates, it'll start over).
I tried to put dload\UPDATE.APP in sdcard and nothing happened. I also tried all combinations described in a post I found in modaco forum (www[dot]modaco[dot]com/forums/topic/377629-honor-8-button-combinations-clarified/) and I don't get any other result besides what I described before.
Is there any way to fix it??
Did you try to press power and vol- ? When it boot, release power and keep your finger on vol- while connecting to a computer using USB. Normally, you should access to fastboot
EDIT: Oh sorry, in hurry I have not pay attention to the website you quote :'(
