Hi everyone! Making a new rom from desire Z should be even faster on the htc desire then htc desire HD. Because the processor of desire Z is only 800mhz.
Please help making a new rom out of the Desire Z ROM.

Now THAT is the question of the day. First dev to create an HD ROM with working camera gets a beer. Go on Lee, Villain team, (and others) you know you want to!

why not, just port the Z-rom? sense is the same
Finally, soon we will all have the Landscape sense UI... OR was it already there with th HD dump :s

Fair point, but I didn't explain myself correctly. By HD ROM I meant to say NewSense ROM. I just love the idea of signing up for htcsense.com without shelling out for a new phone. There are some pretty awesome features in there.
But thank you. I hope you understand my original intention. HD != Z in know, but HD = Z re: NewSense

Hey,
I got the Desire S as an upgrade from the orginal Desire when it broke. One thing i miss most from the Desire is Oxygen rom by AdamG. Oxygen now has its own fourms and im sure im not the only one out there who wants oxygen on the htc desire s.
For those wondering what the rom is its pure aosp clean and simple and also VERY fast.
Vote here so adamg can expand his rom to our phones.

Currently there's no best ROM until you have test it by yourself. More important thing is read instructions carefully as you might brick your phone, as you can see in the Q&A lot of people complaining.

Basically ROM is just mods to meet your needs. Based on what you need, choose the ROMs.
For me personally, I recommend ARHD series. Because it has close to stock experience of Sense.
Virtuous is also good one for non-sense.
I tried all the ICS roms and each offers something nice but my personal taste is closer to insertcoin, it's fast, updates regularly and very stable

lol, what a question to ask. As someone posted try a few and choose as YMMV.
I prefer AOSP ROMs but that's a personal preference.

HTC Desire running mildwild.
HTC Desire S running reaper.
And mildwild is way better.
it's smaller.
way more smooth.
not as many bugs.

part of the reason i said it was because porting from desire isn't easy. There was a lot of problems when oxygen was ported which is why initially it was never released. If i'm correct, it wasn't until the devs at desire hd ported it that we finally got it. But good luck! the more ROMs the better.
Hey guys I just picked myself up a Sensation 4G (Not new to Android Dev.) so I was thinking about creating,my own custom rom but wasn't sure what the Sensation guys like in their roms. I came from the Huawei u8150 were getting CM9 to run without a gpu was a move from the lord. So far I have tried Stock, Insert Coin, and Android Revolution roms all were great but I like a little cyanogenmod in my life. Would you guys like a new CM9 build crossed with a few tweaks of mean and fixes I find. Is so vote for it. Also reply with what you, look for in a rom.

What I'd really love to see is a cm9 rom whit theme chooser working but idk yiu can't really do much to make a cm9/aosp rom to look different then other roms unless different themes...

I will start the rom today and if all goes well, I can have an early release out by Saturday. At first it will probably be stock cm9 with a few tweaks but then I will see what I can do about theming.
A CM9 ROM will be awesome. Are you going to try to get it working by yourself? You could get together with the open sensation project guys and make more progress that way. Just a thought

Welcome to the Sensation boards, and thanks for asking for input. I'm not a sense hater by any means, but I ALWAYS go back to AOSP roms. CM9 and Open Sensation are compiled nicely, but for some reason make my phone heat.
So, any build compiled from source would be welcomed. Each phone is different, hopefully your build keeps mah phone cool.
AOSP ROM with a Sense Camera would be loved by many, I am sure.

Yea I thought about speaking to them about it but I figured since I am newer to the phone I could try to mess with it a little myself before I go messing with other peoples work.
There seems to be a good number of sense roms and cm9 roms out there... why not try something kinda out there?
like a port of an xperia rom (I think Xperia S has the same chipset) or samsung's? (I know there's an xperia-ish rom out there but i think it's just aokp with xperia mods and I think that Sony's UIX is pretty good and not bloaty).
just thinking out there... porting something like that might be too much.
i have already begun working on rom but i'll keep it in mind. thanks for the idea

He already released his rom? where is it as I cannot find it in the development section
I haven't had the time to make a thread for it I'm sorry. I've been taking finals and will be through next week. Though I will not stop working on roms. For now you can find the Rom in Rom manager. I try to post here when I get home
