List any app provider you've found to be malicious. Include app store and individual app(s) versions. Also how they are infective or defective. This is only meant to spread awareness, not to bash certain application developers. Thanks for your help
Edit: i.e.- when searching aptoide for app in a particular store, and scroll down to comments to double check authenticity, the comments are combined for every version of the app in that store, and the app can be added to another store- that's why I'm interested in version #
Please no general comments

App Stores
Best to stick to Google Play, but some people (like me) are not allowed to spend (as i'm only 14). i have to use apk's for some apps that i cant live without like nova launcher and pocket casts.
I'd say the Swiftkey data logging thing is probably the riskiest. Best to stick to Google Keyboard or Sense keyboard
Just my 2 pence
Getapk I've been using for two years now no problems yet and is updated with newest apps daily

So I was in the process of downloading an app tonight when I was prompted with a terms of service agreement I had to ok before proceeding.....it looked like every other I've ever seen so without second guessing I hit ok.....shortly after I get a prompt that Onavo has scanned my "GooglePlay" store app for me and its data friendly. I never heard of that app so I check my apps and its not in my app drawer, but it shows up in "manage apps". Hmmm. So I look online for info and find the market is now google play. I opened the market and sure as **** there it is.

Just buy the app, if you can afford to pay your monthly phone bill then I'm sure that you can drop a few dollars for the apps you want.
other?
So while we are on this subject, how are not allowed to post cracked apps? While I am against it the reasoning doesn't work. We will take the skype app, which is licensed, modify it and place it on xda. That is no different than taking someone else's app and making it suit our needs without permission.

That's a good point. Although there was a crackdown on those modded Dropbox apks...

I don't see a request for an alternative site as a request for hacked/stolen etc apps..
Unlocking features omitted for marketing purposes that are free elsewhere on the same app is a little bit of a grey area
Also the need for a major alternative freeware shareware app site is definite..

I'm also looking for a LEGIT alternative to the Google Play Store because I sometimes have DPI issues with the market and it gives compatibility errors. I want to clarify this, I just want another place to download .apks that are free on the market that isn't a shady DDL I found on google.
Guys, don't judge, it's possible the OP lives elsewhere where the entire play store is not available and he wants an app. That is a perfectly fine reason for piracy in my book.

There is nothing wrong with requesting free apps apk files, (though I highly recommend doing it in there Q&A section, not android apps & games) just look at this here. On there other hand, paid app apks, cracks to free apps to make then act like paid apps, or cracking apps to defrauded a company (i.e. The dropbox hack) all are considered Warez.
Also, app markets that do not link to Google Play (i.e. App Brainz links to Google play for downloads) are considered Warez markets & won't be tolerated.

Also: For anybody having DPI issues, have you tried this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wxLDEsImNvbS5iaXJkYXBpLmFuZHJvaWQuZHBpcHJvIl0. (To install it set dpi to normal for your device, delete market data/cache, reboot into recovery, wipe cache/dalvik cache & then download from market, it'll let you change dpi without issues (so it says, I haven't tested it))
There's a new dropbox hack out there for 50gb for two years using sgs3 files. But I understand what you all are saying
Thanks for the info

How is the community doing?
With so many apps available in the android market (google play) I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread with peoples top 5 cant live without favorite apps.
You can include any app with the exception of games there is a separate thread for that already, just make sure to note free or paid after the app name. Maybe we can bring apps to light that not many people dont know exist but are great!
Ill start my top 5 cant live without apps are:
1. Teamviever - free - productivity app that allows me to remotely connect to computers and help others diagnose issues
2. Work shifts free - free - app that keeps track of worked hours, pay days, etc
3. eBay - free - app that allows me to buy, sell on ebay
4. Dropbox - free - great for backing up files or just having extra storage
5. XDA premium - paid ($1.49) - keeps me connected to xda while mobile

I have been working on this app for a long time. I think it is finally at a stage where I can say it is stable and ready for the masses to take hold. It has been listed on google play now for over a year as a paid and free app.
When I worked on ROM's it was tedious updating so many threads after completing a new update. So I developed Android MOD Market
Android MOD Market is an app that scavenges through CyonaogenMOD, MIUI-US and XDA searching for APPs, MODS and ROMS; reads the posts, picks out information and makes it available in an easily searchable and categorized app.
I guess you could call it a ROM, MOD and APP search engine with some added features. You can set presets for your favorite listings and have it notify you when the listing is updated.
Unlike ROM Manger, GOO-IM or many other popular apps and update notifiers, AMM does not require the developer to do anything additional but post it to a forum thread. New listings are usually picked up by AMM with in a few hours and any update is available immediately to a user.
You can view the AMM website (in my sig) and view the listings there, get the free app from Google Play (ad supported) or if ads aren't your thing feel free to purchase an ad free version also Available on Google Play.
Check it out here...
Website = www.androidmodmarket.com
Free Ad Supported Version = https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thunderstick.androidmodmarketfree
Paid Ad Free Version = https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thunderstick.androidmodmarketpro

That's strange, not sure why your device is not compatible. Let me check the listing. APK attached to OP...
Resuscitating this thread...
APP has made some major milestones lately. IF you tried it in the past and disregarded it, feel free to give it another try. It is definitely much different now.
APK in OP updated to reflect the latest free version available from the playstore.
I let a lot of people use my phone and I was wondering if there is an app that if you login without the password you won't be giving access to the apps you set?

There are 100s in play store . App lock is the one I like.
With respect this is not the place for things like this. Search the play store, etc first.
Buy Nick Caves music.
